Story
Hi humans, I’m Apollo, a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd with an 85-pound frame. When this nice rescue took me in thy told me I am very skinny and need to gain weight. I’m looking for a family to help me get to that healthy weight. Life hasn’t been easy for me, so I’m a little nervous in new situations. But with a little patience, some tasty treats, and lots of love, I’m sure to blossom into the confident and loyal companion I’m meant to be. Plus, who can resist a big dog who prances like a show horse? It’s one of my special quirks that always makes people smile! I am great on a leash so I can be your walking buddy! Treats are a surefire way to my heart, so I’m eager to learn from someone who has the patience and time to help me thrive. I get along well with other dogs too, so I’d make a wonderful addition to a home with furry siblings. What I need most is a family who understands me and is willing to give me the attention and care I deserve. I may take a little time to settle in, but I promise the love and loyalty I’ll give in return will be more than worth it!
Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit.
Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog.
We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org)
Thanks so much.
