Meet Tiko! A very handsome Kangal/Anatolian Shepherd mix, he is a friendly, loving dog who shows a strong bond with his people. Tiko would thrive best in a home with a fenced in yard or farm setting. Due to his size he would do better with older children.

Story
Hi humans, I’m Apollo, a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd with an 85-pound frame. When this nice rescue took me in thy told me I am very skinny and need to gain weight. I’m looking for a family to help me get to that healthy weight. Life hasn’t been easy for me, so I’m a little nervous in new situations. But with a little patience, some tasty treats, and lots of love, I’m sure to blossom into the confident and loyal companion I’m meant to be. Plus, who can resist a big dog who prances like a show horse? It’s one of my special quirks that always makes people smile! I am great on a leash so I can be your walking buddy! Treats are a surefire way to my heart, so I’m eager to learn from someone who has the patience and time to help me thrive. I get along well with other dogs too, so I’d make a wonderful addition to a home with furry siblings. What I need most is a family who understands me and is willing to give me the attention and care I deserve. I may take a little time to settle in, but I promise the love and loyalty I’ll give in return will be more than worth it! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Myla was adopted but had to be brought back due to a new landlord's rule on no dogs. She is a sweet girl who does love a large yard to roam and explore. She does play with other dogs and does well with cats. She has not been around small children but did okay with older kids. She was house trained with a dog door but does like to hang outside. She is just a great gal to have around for yard protection and outside fun. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Here is a sweet boy who is doing well in a foster home. He is house trained with a doggy door but will need to be taught a different routine if there is no door. He does well with cats and other dogs. He does like to jump so small kids will need to be careful. He must be kept busy as he does like to chew and have things to do. He does appreciate sleeping on a human bed but is fine on a dog bed also. He does well on a leash and on car rides. He is just a big sweet boy who is needing a family who can keep him occupied (farm, walks, outdoor activities, etc....) He just wants his forever family and we know there's one out there. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Buddy is a friendly, affectionate, and playful big boy, weighing about 78 pounds and estimated to be around 2 years old. We think he’s at least part Anatolian Shepherd, with the personality and traits to match. While he’s a big dog, he still has some puppy energy, which makes him the perfect blend of lively and loving. Buddy has been respectful with kids that he's met and gets along really well with other dogs. He’s a social butterfly at the park, happily chasing small dogs and wrestling playfully with larger ones. He’s shown no aggression, whether on or off the leash, and his outgoing, friendly nature makes him a joy to be around. He can be a little nervous of adults- additional training would be beneficial and help him to be more confident around them. Despite his size, Buddy has excellent manners. He doesn’t jump on people unless invited (he loves a good hug!) and stays off furniture unless allowed. He’s already mastered basic commands like “sit” and “paw” and adapts quickly to new routines and surroundings. Buddy thrives on affection, often seeking pets and attention, and will happily shower you with kisses if you’re open to it. On a leash, Buddy walks beautifully with the right collar and will heel when properly instructed. At home, he’s a dream—he doesn’t chew on things he shouldn’t and is content to relax after getting his daily dose of exercise. He’s not a picky eater, happily enjoying his regular meals, though he has a particular fondness for chicken-based treats. Buddy loves being outdoors and needs daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy. Long walks, park visits, or having a yard to play in would be ideal for him. As a guardian breed, Buddy would thrive with an owner familiar with his breed’s characteristics and energy levels. Overall, Buddy is an amazing companion- loyal, affectionate, and protective, yet sweet and snuggly. If you’re looking for a best friend who can keep up with your adventures and cuddle up at the end of the day, Buddy might just be the perfect match for you. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.
