Story
Meet Daredevil! He is the bravest superhero with no sight. This handsome young floof ball is about 5 months old and weighs 20 pounds. We are not exactly sure what breeds he has in him but we suspect something like Anatolian Sheperd or Great Pyrenees and he reminds us a little of an Akita!. Daredevil earned his name due to the fact that he has no eyeballs, and like the character himself is still the most brave of souls! Daredevil tries his best to be a normal dog, he will even use the potty pads when he needs to potty! The best way he has learned is by being with other dogs, his foster fur siblings truly helped bring him out of his shell, so he would thrive best in a home with another dog. His foster mom has done great at trying to introduce him to the outside world but as to be expected all the different noises can be a bit scary not being able to see what they are. Daredevil will need lots of training to adjust as he grows, but is the sweetest of boys you will ever meet. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $650. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Myla was adopted but had to be brought back due to a new landlord's rule on no dogs. She is a sweet girl who does love a large yard to roam and explore. She does play with other dogs and does well with cats. She has not been around small children but did okay with older kids. She was house trained with a dog door but does like to hang outside. She is just a great gal to have around for yard protection and outside fun. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Here is a sweet boy who is doing well in a foster home. He is house trained with a doggy door but will need to be taught a different routine if there is no door. He does well with cats and other dogs. He does like to jump so small kids will need to be careful. He must be kept busy as he does like to chew and have things to do. He does appreciate sleeping on a human bed but is fine on a dog bed also. He does well on a leash and on car rides. He is just a big sweet boy who is needing a family who can keep him occupied (farm, walks, outdoor activities, etc....) He just wants his forever family and we know there's one out there. He is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Highway (HWY) is a very good-looking boy. He is very high Anatolian Shepherd. He was fully vetted 9/18/24. 19 weeks old as of 11/1/24. Weighed 18.9 lbs when vetted. He is growing fast. Est 30 -35 lbs now on 11/1!24. HWY was named Highway because he was found on Highway 51. in West TN. A girl that his foster mom knows saw a car pull over on the side of the highway and put him out. She pulled over and saved him. He was really scared when we first got him. He has come a long way but can still be shy at times. He needs someone willing to be patient with him. He catches on pretty quick. He’s playful and knows “ sit” already. He loves other dogs. Walks really well on leash. He actually would do very well with an avid walker/runner. He does likes o ride in the car. He will require additional potty/house training as he is still a pup. HIGHWAY is located in Ripley, TN. (West TN). Contact Lisa at 731-499-0739 or oatsvall973@yahoo.com Out of state transport can be arranged, cost is $185.

Story
Mani is a sweet-tempered pup who seems content to match the energy of those around her. She plays very hard with other active dogs, running around the yard and wrestling, but when alone with her people or with calmer dogs she can be quite lazy and low-key. At 55 lbs, she thinks she is a lap dog and loves to snuggle! She has done great with all other dogs she has met (small and large) and is cat-friendly as well, but she can get a bit excitable/vocal when meeting new doggy friends for the first time - she just wants to play with everyone! Previous foster parents have reported that Mani exhibits some separation anxiety when left alone, and this does seem to be mitigated by the presence of other dogs in the house. If left alone loose in the house, she was known to destroy blinds and scratch at doors, so we recommend crating her when there are no humans at home, even though she is house-trained and generally non-destructive. Mani is used to being fed in her crate and will go into it automatically at meal times, but if left in there when she knows people are in the house she will bark to be let out. She will also bark initially for a few minutes after being put in a crate when people are leaving the house, but she usually calms down relatively quickly. Providing a Kong or chewy treat in the crate will mitigate this as well. However, this will need to be taken into consideration for potential adopters who live in an apartment/condo setting. Since her separation anxiety is relatively mild, Mani is not on any medication for it. She does have an old injury to her front leg. It healed long ago and so far vets seem to agree that it doesn't bother her to walk. She may tire out if she plays too hard though. Age: 1 year Weight: 50 lb Temperament: Doing well with dogs and resident cat. Training: Housetrained, crate trained . Vetting: spayed up to date on vaccines, HW negative For questions, please email: ali.mentana@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review.

Story
Buddy is a friendly, affectionate, and playful big boy, weighing about 78 pounds and estimated to be around 2 years old. We think he’s at least part Anatolian Shepherd, with the personality and traits to match. While he’s a big dog, he still has some puppy energy, which makes him the perfect blend of lively and loving. Buddy has been respectful with kids that he's met and gets along really well with other dogs. He’s a social butterfly at the park, happily chasing small dogs and wrestling playfully with larger ones. He’s shown no aggression, whether on or off the leash, and his outgoing, friendly nature makes him a joy to be around. He can be a little nervous of adults- additional training would be beneficial and help him to be more confident around them. Despite his size, Buddy has excellent manners. He doesn’t jump on people unless invited (he loves a good hug!) and stays off furniture unless allowed. He’s already mastered basic commands like “sit” and “paw” and adapts quickly to new routines and surroundings. Buddy thrives on affection, often seeking pets and attention, and will happily shower you with kisses if you’re open to it. On a leash, Buddy walks beautifully with the right collar and will heel when properly instructed. At home, he’s a dream—he doesn’t chew on things he shouldn’t and is content to relax after getting his daily dose of exercise. He’s not a picky eater, happily enjoying his regular meals, though he has a particular fondness for chicken-based treats. Buddy loves being outdoors and needs daily exercise to keep him happy and healthy. Long walks, park visits, or having a yard to play in would be ideal for him. As a guardian breed, Buddy would thrive with an owner familiar with his breed’s characteristics and energy levels. Overall, Buddy is an amazing companion- loyal, affectionate, and protective, yet sweet and snuggly. If you’re looking for a best friend who can keep up with your adventures and cuddle up at the end of the day, Buddy might just be the perfect match for you. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments.
