Story
Here is a sweet boy who is doing well in a foster home. He is house trained with a doggy door but will need to be taught a different routine if there is no door. He does well with cats and other dogs. He does like to jump so small kids will need to be careful. He must be kept busy as he does like to chew and have things to do. He does appreciate sleeping on a human bed but is fine on a dog bed also. He does well on a leash and on car rides. He is just a big sweet boy who is needing a family who can keep him occupied (farm, walks, outdoor activities, etc....) He just wants his forever family and we know there's one out there.

Story
Calling all big dog lovers- you have to meet Arthur!!  This guy is the best- he is social, fun, friendly, happy, chill, playful and affectionate.  He loves all dogs and will do well living with or without other dogs.  Arthur is great with new people and loves adventures.  He walks well on a leash and enjoys checking out the world.  Arthur, for the most part is laid back and super chill but this guy does get the zoomies and loves to romp and play then crashes for a long nap!  Arthur is a smart pup but a little on the lazy side- he has perfect house manners but is not too interested in learning too many skills.  He is an Anatolian Shepherd mix and can get a little guardy thus, boundaries and clear roles work best for him.  Arthur loves a good chew bone and chew toy!  Who is the lucky person who gets to have big lovable, silly Arthur in their life? If you would like to meet Arthur, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.

Story
Hi! My name is Tundra and I am from Missouri. From her foster: Tundra is the sweetest baby. She loves to snuggle and loves to play with other dogs. Brutus is her best friend, She's even started to like my cat. She loves going for walks and is really good on a leash. She will need some training and patience because she's very scared of humans mostly men. But once she gets to know you she's a big sweetie. I think a home with another dog and maybe a calm environment would be ideal. Tundra thrives in a fenced in back yard with another dog pal to run around with! Dog savvy cats are best as she likes to play chase, but she's not harmful.

Story
Introducing Luna! Sweetheart Adaptable Courageous Affectionate  Luna is one half of an extraordinary pair of Great Danes who embody courage, kindness, and boundless love. Luna and her brother, Ares, are ready to embark on a new chapter of their lives with you. This lovely lady is a stunning, white Great Dane who exhibits grace and charm that's simply unmatched. Her world is painted in shades of love and determination due to overcoming vision impairments with remarkable finesse due to her hearing and smelling She has proven that strength lies not in what we see, but in the unwavering spirit within. With every step, she demonstrates her determination to explore life to the fullest. Her bond with her brother is something truly special. They continue to find support from each other as they navigate their world safely. Their connection is a testament to the power of love and companionship, and they must be adopted together to ensure that they continue to thrive. They both love to be around their people and soak up the attention. While they aren't that into playing with toys, they do love going for walks and car rides! These two gentle giants can be the perfect addition to your family and can do well in a household with cats and older children. Due to their special needs, a home where they will be the only dogs is necessary. Both dogs are housebroken, crate-trained, and walk well on a leash. Their foster family has also noted they do well during car rides. A physical fence and minimal steps are required due to them having difficulty with hearing and vision. Neither dog has any medical/health concerns, but Ares occasionally requires an ointment for his eye. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this remarkable pair of siblings? If so, please reach out to us by one of the following steps. 1. If you have already completed the application process and are an approved adopter with UMGDR, please contact Ares & Luna’s Placement Coordinator at callie@thegreatdanerescue.com to learn more about them. 2. If you are not yet an approved adopter through UMGDR, you must complete our application process before you can be considered to adopt a dog through our rescue. Please visit https://www.thegreatdanerescue.com/adoption-application to complete an application and submit your $25 application fee to begin the process. This awesome duo is currently located in Presque Isle, WI. Since Luna and Ares need to be adopted together, the combined adoption fee is $430.10. ##1579466##

Story
Introducing Echo! Smart Active Eager to Please Cuddly  Echo is a remarkable black and white Great Dane! Her playfulness knows no bounds, making every day an adventure waiting to happen. Her joy is infectious and her eagerness to please is as boundless as her energy. This sweet girl has mastered basic commands with many of the commands coming through physical touch. Her intelligence shines through, and it's a pleasure to watch her respond with precision. Car rides are one of her favorite pastimes, as she anticipates new adventures. Echo has a soft spot for her toys, often piling them up in adorable displays of affection. When it's time to wind down, Echo is the queen of snuggles. Her loving presence brings comfort and warmth to any room she graces. She also enjoys running outdoors, going for leisurely walks, and embracing the beauty of the great outdoors. Her leash manners are impeccable, and she thrives under the positive reinforcement of a structured home life. However, Echo's preference for undivided attention means she's not keen on spending time with other dogs. She's happiest when the spotlight is on her, and that's where she truly shines. The ideal environment for Echo is one without other dogs or cats, as she loves being the star of the show. In her forever home, a physical fence is a must, ensuring her safety and freedom to explore while only having vision in one eye. Story
Introducing Maxwell! Energetic Playful Affectionate Extraordinary Appearance: Maxwell is a stunning Great Dane with an elegant white coat. His beauty goes beyond his appearance, as his unique qualities make him an exceptional companion. Activities and Play: Maxwell has an active and adventurous spirit. He enjoys playing with various toys, from balls to ropes and deer antlers. Going for walks and exploring the world are among his favorite pastimes. Maxwell's boundless curiosity and enthusiasm are truly contagious. In the backyard, Maxwell lets loose with his famous "zoomies," showcasing his joyful and playful nature. He relishes companionship and interaction with his people, cherishing every moment of love and attention. Need for Companionship: Maxwell has a strong preference for being in the company of his loved ones. He dislikes being left alone and may bark when separated from his family. A home where someone is present more often than not is ideal for his well-being. Challenges and Adaptability: Maxwell faces significant vision impairment, but his resilience shines through. While he may see only a fraction of what others do, he adapts remarkably well once he's familiar with his environment. He may perceive motion, lightness, darkness, or the presence of objects, allowing him to navigate and enjoy life. Maxwell also has a significant hearing impairment. He may hear certain high-pitched noises, but he relies on his visual senses and the reassurance of his loved ones. His world is shaped by the guidance and support of his human companions. Boundaries: Maxwell appreciates respect for his personal space. He may get nervous when objects, people, or other dogs move quickly, given his limited sight and hearing. A physical fence is required to ensure his safety and security. Ideal Home: Having a submissive, active dog in his forever home can greatly contribute to Maxwell's happiness and confidence. If his adoptive family includes children, we recommend ages 12 and older with a calm demeanor. A calm and consistent home life is essential to his success. Previous Challenges: Maxwell had been bounced from home to home for the first half of his life. He truly deserves a stable and loving forever home. A family with experience in caring for dogs with deafness and vision impairment would be a true blessing for him. Maxwell is not just a dog; he's a testament to adaptability and the joy of living life to the fullest despite challenges. If you have the heart and dedication to provide him with the love and care he needs, please reach out to us. Maxwell is ready to embark on a new journey, and he'd love to share it with you. Please complete one of the following steps to make Maxwell a part of your family. 1. If you have already completed the application process and are an approved adopter with UMGDR, please contact Maxwell’s Placement Coordinator at callie@thegreatdanerescue.com to learn more about him. 2. Please visit https://www.thegreatdanerescue.com/adoption-application to complete an application and submit your $25 application fee to begin the process.
