Story
River is a wonderful, loyal, and sweet guy! He came to his foster through no fault of his own and thanks to his dedicated foster's love and patience, his confidence has grown immensely, and he still has room to grow. River approaches new situations with tentative interest. He can be anxious around new people and in new environments but once warmed up, River loves people (including children) and other dogs. In fact, River must have another dog in the house as he follows the lead of his current foster brother and has learned so much from him! River's daily medication helps calm him down, and this is something that his forever person will need to continue for River's benefit and comfort. River is two-years old and 75 fluffy, soft, loveable pounds. He and his foster have been working on walking on leash as River prefers to run around the yard. For this reason, River's forever home must have a fenced-in yard, and it will be important to continue the leash training and exposure to new situations. This is the best way to build River's confidence and to teach him that the wide world is a fun place to explore!  River is a masterpiece in the making! He needs a forever person or family who will be willing to love him enough to finish this four-legged work of art. PAW places animals in the Washington, DC/Baltimore metropolitan area only. ##1836418##

Story
Bane is an incredible dog, and it's clear that he has brought so much joy and love into my life. From the moment I brought him home as a pup, he's shown nothing but kindness and respect for everyone around him. Born on April 25, 2022, Bane has grown up to be the perfect companion — a playful, friendly boy who gets along with everyone, from kids to cats, other dogs, and bunnies. He's always gentle and never jumps around the kids, showing an amazing amount of patience and understanding for his surroundings. Bane's love for the simple things in life is contagious - whether it's running through the snow, exploring the bushes, or just snuggling in his favorite soft bed, he makes every moment special. He understands what's right and wrong, and although he's still young and has more to learn, his eagerness to please and his joyful spirit make him a true treasure. It's heartbreaking that I have to part with him, but it's clear that Bane deserves a loving home, one with plenty of space to explo

Story
Juke, a one year old, rib showing, 90lbs Anatolian Shepherd mix who is looking for a foster or an adopter that will help him add about 10-15 lbs to his too lean of a figure and give him a loving home to decompress after having been in the shelter for so long. Looking at his age, body structure, and his back paws, we will venture to say there’s a Pyrenees in the bloodline somewhere. What do we know about him? -Easy/loose leash walking boy does he love his walks! -Very playful -Gentle treat taking and loves treats -Low to medium energy but watch out for the zoomies -Dog tested with no negative reaction -Can become mouthy when super excited but responds to corrections. -A home with small children is not ideal as he will knock them down. Videos: https://youtu.be/Xew5GZTtTRM https://youtu.be/7FCB1BNQIKo REMINDER: A dog described as low to medium energy, whose body is beginning to adjust to better nutrition, can turn into a very energetic pup once his system heals. Story
Coco (now Roxy) is a sweet and playful one-year-old shepherd mix who loves to show affection with gentle head butts and can’t resist her squeaky toys. She’s a smart girl who’s already learning to stay on her bed and picks up new things quickly. Roxy enjoys running and playing, so she would do best in a home with a fenced yard and plenty of space to explore. She gets along well with other dogs and has a friendly, loving personality with people. If you’re looking for a loyal and intelligent companion who’s ready to learn and love, Roxy might be the perfect match!

Story
Meet Harley! 🐾 Harley’s journey began at the shelter, where he arrived frightened and unsure of the world around him, clinging closely to his sister, Coco. His eyes were wide with worry, and every new sound made him flinch. But with patience, love, and the comforting presence of Coco, Harley has come such a long way. 🌟 Today, Harley is a completely different boy! He’s blossomed into a sweet and gentle soul who craves affection and enjoys the simple joys of life—like belly rubs, cozy blankets, and sunbathing by the window. His timid days are behind him, and he’s grown into a confident and very nice boy who knows how to trust again. ❤️ Not only is Harley house-trained, but he’s also made peace with the resident cats, proving just how far he’s come. He’s respectful and calm, happy to coexist without any fuss. 🐱🤍 But what Harley wants more than anything is to stay with his sister, Coco. Their bond is unbreakable, built on shared experiences and the comfort they bring each other. Finding a home that welcomes them both would make Harley's dreams come true. 🏡💞 If you have room in your heart and home for two loving souls, Harley and Coco would fill your days with double the love and gratitude. 🥰

Story
Winston and Phoebe are beautiful Anatolian shepherd mixes that have pretty good size paws. These puppies were dumped in somebody’s driveway in the country, where they sat all night, waiting for someone to find them. Winston and Phoebe currently weigh 40-44 lbs as of 11/16/24 – We estimate they will be around 55-70 lbs once full grown. These 2 are just as friendly as sweet as can be. When the owner of the home they were dumped at walked outside, they ran up to the owners, tails wagging and tongues out. They LOVE to kiss you and be right next to you. Winston and Phoebe are gentle giants. They are not crazy puppies, but they do love their playtime. Give them toys and they put them in their mouths and run all over the house and yard with them. They LOVE their toys. They can entertain themselves, but they prefer a play buddy (whether it’s an adult, child or other doggy) These gorgeous pups have been introduced to small and big dogs and get along great with both! They look up to other dogs for more confidence but would be great in a home with or without other dogs. Winston and Phoebe adore kitties. They love to cuddle with them in the beds and hang out with them. Inside or outside cats, no issues at all. They may even prefer cat siblings! They LOVE kids! They would prefer children over boring adults any day. They have the goofiest and friendliest personalities. Winston and Phoebe also love water – they would make great adventure buddies. They love to explore and are very curious pups. They catch on quickly to everything you’re doing and will follow you around to watch you. These 2 pups will bring joy, love and laughter into your and your family’s life. Please consider adopting today. _______________________________________________________________________________ If you would like to adopt this doggy/puppy, please complete an application on our website: www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is healthy, spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, current on preventions, dewormed and microchipped. Story
Dobby is a big goofball who just loves people!   He is a volunteer favorite - to meet him is to love him.  This guy is sweet and friendly to everyone, kids included. He wants to give kisses to every person he meets, and be snuggled close to you at home.  Dobby is SO EASY in the home!  He is polite, housebroken, and knows a ton of commands.  He will relax most of the day and is accustomed to being in a crate.  When you come to let him out he smiles and wags his tail.  As an "older" fella at about 4 1/2 years, he does not need a ton of exercise and is happy to get walked.  He’s 5 years old and 69 pounds of affection (and maybe could stand to shed a few more). We suspect he is a Great Dane / terrier mix.    Dobby enjoys playing. He especially loves tug of war and fetch - he'll bring the toy back to you and expect you to tug on it for a couple of seconds, but once you tell him "Leave it" he’ll let go and start the game again. When playtime is over he has no problem calming down. He is very treat motivated, but he has no food aggression, so he will take any size treat from your hand gently.  He would love to sleep at the foot of your bed but he's perfectly happy in his own bed, especially if it’s placed in front of a door or window.  He can be dog selective so he is better as an only dog. PAW will support any adopter with some training to ensure Dobby gets off to a good start in their home. PAW places animals in the Washington, DC/Baltimore Metropolitan area only. ##1127125##

Story
Charlie is a handsome and endearing young man! His eyes will reel you in and his sweet demeanor will have you hooked. According to his foster he is a "velcro dog" always wanting to be with his person and to snuggle. He is curious and confident about exploring but doesn't mind going into his crate.  A sweet soul who is good with all he meets, Charlie would make a great family dog. He loves people and attaches easily. His high energy makes him a great playmate for kids and other dogs alike. He is a medium-large dog at 56 pounds, but he is thin, almost full grown, and will likely fill out rather than grow taller. Charlie came to PAW with his two siblings and it is evident that he has grown up in a sibling-environment in that he loves to run and play! He does, however, love to slow down and snuggle with his person. Charlie is a perfect combination of energy and attachment. ##2333491##

Story
At 58 pounds, Lacey is large and lovely, and her size is matched by her loving heart and desire to please. She is a sweet and loving puppy who is still getting used to her long legs and generous size. "Sweet and beautiful" is how Lacey's foster describes her. Lacey loves people and other dogs and her puppy energy makes her a perfect playmate for both. Lacey enjoys walks and is learning to walk on leash. She is curious and enjoys being exposed to new and different environments. She is engaged and willing to go wherever her person wants, be it on leash or in the car. Not quite one year old, everything is new and fun for Lacey! Once Lacey's puppy energy is exhausted, she loves to find a rug or warm spot on the floor or in her crate to curl up for a nap. She is a people person, she loves to snuggle, and she loves being cuddled and pet. Lacey is looking for a home where she can be loved and engaged, and where she will continue to have adventures and learn about the fun and interesting world around her. ##2333555##
