Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! My name is Tiger and I am almost three years old. I get along with other dogs and I am pretty well housebroken. I am good when left alone, but prefer to be near my person as much as possible. I will play with some squeaky toys, but I prefer attention and cuddling, one could call me a lap dog. Don't get me wrong though, for, as much as I love to cuddle I still do have a lot of energy that I need to get out of me so I have higher than average exercise needs ! I do enjoy being outside and do pretty well on leash though I am not a big fan of encountering strangers. I have been on some car rides and enjoy them. I might be excited at first, but if you ask me to stay in the backseat I will. Overall I would be a good addition to the right person or family, but I do need someone that can work with me on basic manners (I jump up when I get excited) and continue learning good behaviors so an experienced dog owner who is very familiar with my breed   is a must. I am not a fit with  children or cats. I will also definitely need a 6 foot fence as I am a bit of an escape artist! Tigers adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives PLUS a free obedience course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha.  Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be current on preventatives and vaccinations and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.  Please submit an adoption application for consideration at www.adopthope.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
Meet Shadow, a young dog with a desire to find a home (or rescue!) who knows his breed inside and out. Shadow has the classic Malinois traits - intelligence, loyalty, and a desire to be busy - so a human/home with breed experience is going to be to this guys benefit. Physical and mental demands are important to meet for any dog, especially for guys like Shadow! Shadow is a leggy guy that will thrive with a consistent environment with structure and direction. A low activity home or first time pet owners would not be a fit at this time, but we are happy to communicate on finding a match for you and your family for a different dog. We know this boy will excel in the right environment where he can work/train/and have an outlet for energy. Agility, advanced obedience, and dog sports to name a few! With the right people and places, we think he will make an incredible companion.**If inquiring from a rescue, please specify when calling/emailing. Thank you!

Story
Odin is a big boy who found himself in a spot of needing a new place to land after his former humans found themselves in a tough spot of life. He was clearly a very loved dog, but we are thankful CVHS was able to communicate and get a helpful history to help this guy find a match for a new home - you can read about some of his likes and quirks here:Odin`s new home should be one that is secure, as he does have a history of gallavanting about given the chance. Odin also has a history of doing well with both cats and dogs, but has been primarily cared for by a woman so he is slower to warm up to men. Snuggling and cuddling are some of his favorite things, along with playing fetch! If you or someone you know is looking to add 4 more furry paws into your life by adopting a dog in need, consider meeting Odin here @ CVHS today!
