Grizzly is a handsome 1 year old Anatolian shepherd mix who came to the shelter with his brother Gus after their owners had to surrender them. They were raised on a farm and spent their lives guarding livestock. Their owners new fiancé was found to be allergic to the dogs so they had to be surrendered. They did not live inside at any point but are young and quick to learn! They both know sit and walk well on a leash. It is noted that they should not be in a home with cats. These boys do not have to be adopted together, but they both desperately deserve a loving forever home! You can meet Grizzly in kennel 79, his ID is 6140. He is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, and will be microchipped & neutered upon adoption. This gentle giant is Valravn! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy with ID on 12/9, and no one has come to reclaim him. We're not sure why his people never came for him. For being such a big dog, Valravn is so good on leash. One of the volunteers described him as the most gentle dog they have ever walked...that's saying a lot since they've walked hundreds! We're unsure if he knows basic commands since he was a bit overwhelmed and distracted during his photoshoot. If you have room in your home and heart for this big boy, please come meet him today! He'd sure love to find his new, forever home in time for the holidays! Valravn is an adult dog, and he weighs 93 lbs. Meet our Labor Day Pups. Grace Lynn came to Barkville on August 29th, 2024. She was dropped off at our partner vet in Johns Creek for her intake vetting. Because it was Labor Day weekend she scheduled for her exam on Tuesday, September 3rd. To everyone&#39s surprise, when the vet tech came in on Tuesday morning, they were greeted by smiling Grace Lynn and her 9 beautiful puppies. This litter of 9 puppies (5 females and 4 males) was born on 9/2/2024. They are believed to be Anatolian Shepherd Mixes. When full grown, we expect these puppies to be medium to large size, weighing between 45 - 70lbs. They are all adorable playful puppies and will require patience and continued training as they mature. They are all sweet, friendly, and curious puppies always ready to explore and play. Their energetic nature is balanced by their love for cuddles, making them the perfect companion for any adventure or a quiet evening at home. These puppies are not just pets, they will be your friend, a confidante, and a source of unconditional love. Their playful spirit and loving nature make them the perfect addition to any family.
