Highway (HWY) is a very good-looking boy. He is very high Anatolian Shepherd. He was fully vetted 9/18/24. 19 weeks old as of 11/1/24. Weighed 18.9 lbs when vetted. He is growing fast. Est 30 -35 lbs now on 11/1!24. HWY was named Highway because he was found on Highway 51. in West TN. A girl that his foster mom knows saw a car pull over on the side of the highway and put him out. She pulled over and saved him. He was really scared when we first got him. He has come a long way but can still be shy at times. He needs someone willing to be patient with him. He catches on pretty quick. He’s playful and knows “ sit” already. He loves other dogs. Walks really well on leash. He actually would do very well with an avid walker/runner. He does likes o ride in the car. He will require additional potty/house training as he is still a pup. HIGHWAY is located in Ripley, TN. (West TN). Change A Life Dog Rescue coming to you with a serious plea- we need your help. There are a number of dogs in our Rescue that need to be moved and it is quite urgent. These 2 dogs were adopted years ago, and the family is losing their home, this is urgent!!!! River and Rio are about 100lbs, River is an Anatolian Shepherd, Rio is a Great Pyrenees. They are 3 and 2 yrs old, great with kids and other dogs and even cats. They were trained to an e fence and do well. THEY LOVE being outside, are housebroken, good on a leash, can be crated, they bark to alert you (look at their breed) and the family believes they are bonded- we can see if that is the case. We are trying to keep them together but most importantly, we are trying to keep them out of a shelter! Winston and Phoebe are beautiful Anatolian shepherd mixes that have pretty good size paws. These puppies were dumped in somebody’s driveway in the country, where they sat all night, waiting for someone to find them. Winston and Phoebe currently weigh 40-44 lbs as of 11/16/24 – We estimate they will be around 55-70 lbs once full grown. These 2 are just as friendly as sweet as can be. When the owner of the home they were dumped at walked outside, they ran up to the owners, tails wagging and tongues out. They LOVE to kiss you and be right next to you. Winston and Phoebe are gentle giants. They are not crazy puppies, but they do love their playtime. Give them toys and they put them in their mouths and run all over the house and yard with them. They LOVE their toys. They can entertain themselves, but they prefer a play buddy (whether it’s an adult, child or other doggy) These gorgeous pups have been introduced to small and big dogs and get along great with both! They look up to other dogs for more confidence but would be great in a home with or without other dogs. Winston and Phoebe adore kitties. They love to cuddle with them in the beds and hang out with them. Inside or outside cats, no issues at all. They may even prefer cat siblings! They LOVE kids! They would prefer children over boring adults any day. They have the goofiest and friendliest personalities. Winston and Phoebe also love water – they would make great adventure buddies. Introducing Horace! He is a beautiful blond Shepard mix and full of fun. He enjoys playing outside and with other dogs and keep away is his favorite game. After some play time, Horace is quick to jump on the couch for a comfy nap. Horace deserves a loving family that is willing and ready to play. On his morning walks he stops at the bus stop to get pats and belly rubs from the children waiting for the bus.

Delta Dawn is a 3 month old female Australian Shepherd/Terrier mix who weighs around 15 lbs. She is a very playful and social puppy who loves to run around with the other other pups. Delta Dawn gets along well with the resident dogs in her current foster home and is people friendly. She loves her humans and getting attention! Timber is a stunning brindle mastiff/ Great Dane mix who absolutely adores people! He has a goofy personality to him that lights up the room. His foster says he likes everyone he meets and can’t get enough back scratches. He loves to run and play and would enjoy having a fenced in yard or a family that is active. Timber is great with children, he doesn’t know he’s a big boy so older children may be best for him. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will cuddle with as long as you want. Timber does prefer to be the only dog because he loves his people so much. Timber would be an amazing addition to your family and being nothing but love and laughter and sloppy kisses. We p ost in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. DeeDee is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and on 22 September weighed 50 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. Beautiful DeeDee has been at the rescue since 24 September 2024 and although she has had some families interested in her, they really didn't have the lifestyle or understanding for what she needs. DeeDee was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas with her sister Dolly who is also still here at the rescue, but is living in the house as I felt it best to separate them to get them used to not being together. At the shelter both girls were terrified of being in a strange, loud, busy unknown environment and when they first arrived at the rescue they was equally as scared, which is totally understandable. After a few weeks their confidence grew as they felt safe and made friends with the other dogs to where now at the rescue they play well with the other dogs, they are relaxed and happy. DeeDee did have a meet and greet about a month ago and taking her out of her environment with the other dogs and to the top of the drive where she had not been and was alone, she again became very scared. I do want to say she has NEVER been aggressive in any way shape or form, she is just scared in new environments and situations. This is not a negative and should be understood, she has most likely never been on her own, not had a great start to life ending up in a high kill shelter at a year old with her sister, but by watching the videos on her page on the rescue website and looking through the photo's you can clearly see that when she is comfortable and feels safe she is a happy confident girl - she just needs a family who understands this and will go slow with her and let her adjust at her pace. At the rescue as mentioned she is a confident girl, she will run up to the gate and bark at cars coming down the drive, she can be vocal when people come to volunteer, however she is in a kennel environment and so all the dogs bark when people come in - she can be a little mouthy with people, which should be expected from the breed and is easy to work on, she doesn't do it all the time. She is extremely affectionate and craves for love and attention and would be a great family dog, as long as she is given that time to understand she is in a safe place with a loving family. I have not had around small children but personally would have no concerns as long as the children respect her space and do not do anything to make her feel unsafe or threatened, which is standard for all dogs. I do not know how she would be around cats, I am sure she would be curious and it is important for families to ensure that cats have a safe place they can get to and of course slow, controlled introductions. Then of course this sweet girl needs a family that understands the breed in that she needs a structured active life, with lots of mental stimulation and challenges as the physical exercise. She would be great with another dog in the family and has never had any issues with the dogs she lives with here at the rescue, which includes being around 3 month old puppies. Overall she is an incredibly sweet, gentle affectionate girl who needs a loving, understanding active family that will give her time to adjust and trust so that this beautiful, active personality can come back out. The shelter noted the following on 2 September about both girls who were taken to the play group individually: Not feeling quite confident on the leash yet, was carried to the yard. She wasn't feeling confident enough to join in with the others at this time. She was standoffish and could feel overwhelmed at times.   Kennel visit - 5 September Stayed on bed and was licking my hands but when I went to pet her she kept flinching and moving her head. Got off the bed and continued to lick hands but still flinched when tried to pet her. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. DeeDee is available for an adoption fee of $300 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend.
