Story
Riley, a gentle 3 yr old Anatolian Shepherd mix, has overcome more than her fair share of challenges. She's embarked on a journey of healing and hope after a difficult past of neglect and abuse. Despite it all, Riley's spirit remains unbroken, and she's ready to discover the warmth and love of a true forever home. This sweet girl is learning the joys of being part of a family, slowly realizing that not all humans are scary. With patience and kindness, Riley is blossoming into a loving and affectionate companion who adores being close to her person. Whether it's snuggling up for a cozy cuddle session or playing with her favorite toys, Riley finds comfort and happiness in simple moments of joy. Riley is strongly bonded to Max, her dad. He is a beautiful English Mastiff. They would do best staying together. If you're ready to give Riley the love and care she has been longing for, please reach out. Together, we can write the next chapter of her story—one filled with love, trust, and the happiness they so truly deserve.

We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

Story
Meet Violetta, a 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her gentle frame! This sweet giant is looking for a loving home where she can finally relax and show off her calm, affectionate nature. Though she's a large girl, Violetta is still underweight and working her way back to full strength. Despite her size, she's a gentle soul, perfectly polite on the leash and walking calmly past other dogs, even when they seem wary of her. In fact, she almost seems apologetic for being so big, backing away kindly when others react to her. Young kiddos might overwhelm her if they are too in her space-- Violetta is looking for a quiet space to relax! Violetta isn't too interested in treats, but her sweet, laid-back personality shines through when she lets you shower her with cuddles. She's the ultimate softie, eager for a home where she can be loved for the kind-hearted gentle giant she is. If you're looking for a big, sweet companion with a heart of gold, Violetta is your girl! Violetta is Heartworm Positive, which means she is available for foster-to-adopt while Animal Friends Alliance provides treatment. Don't worry, though, she's got a normal long life ahead of her, just need a few months of TLC and she'll be good to go! Please call 970-484-8516 or email adopt@savinganimalstoday.org with questions!

Story
I’m a lucky dog – I’m in a special training program with the Missouri State University DARR College of Ag Companion Animal Science Program. I will be working with the students in that program as they learn and I learn until late November – when I will be available to go to an adopter. What a fortunate adopter that will be! I can be pre-adopted or a qualified applicant can make an appointment to meet me as soon as I’m available in November. Apply online at polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. Hello there, I'm Rio! I wandered to a nice person's house along with 4 siblings and our mom. The nice people at the shelter came and got me and thank goodness they did, because we were just wandering aimlessly. My days are filled with wagging tails and wet noses. I'm just a puppy, but I've got a big heart. I'm sweet as honey, always ready to give you my undivided attention. I'm friendly too, eager to meet new friends and play. Loyalty is my middle name, I promise to be your faithful companion through thick and thin. And I'm gentle, careful with every step and touch. My dream? To find a forever home where I can share all this love. Adopt me, and let's fill our days with joy and companionship. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2093941##
