Story
Muchacho is rescued from neighbors who neglected him. He is a livestock guardian dog who is 2 and a half years old. We have no history on him since his previous owner abandoned him. We rescued him hoping he would be our livestock guardian dog. He is great at keeping predators off our property and is great with the fowl, but he likes to chase and play with the sheep and goats. We have a lot of older sheep and our oldest (15 year old ewe) passed away due to the stress after being chased by Muchacho overnight. So, unfortunately we need to find him a new home. One where he can be a livestock guardian dog for fowl, or other livestock if he had an older guardian dog to teach him, or someone who knows how to train these dogs. He is the sweetest guy who loves everyone, other dogs, every person he has ever met, and is great at protecting the property from predators. We love Muchacho, but our house is too small, and we can’t be have him accidentally hurt or kill any of our sheep.

Story
Hi, I'm Baxter! I'm just a little over 2 years old. I'm friendly with other dogs and I'm fine on walks to pass other people too—at home I might bark when someone first knocks on the door or when I smell another dog outside the gate. But once I see them and hear that they're a friend, I warm up quickly! I’m still learning my rhythm on a leash, so I could use a little practice there but it's very manageable and  once you choose your preferred style I learn quickly.  Relationship building and positive, fun training are my language . My favorite toys are soft, plush ones that I can cuddle and play with. I love a good rough and tumble dog play session. I may be a bit much for some dogs; but find me a pal with my same play style and I'm in heaven.   I live with a guinea pig, and we get along just fine. We even rest in the same room together, so I might do okay with cats too! I’m really good in the car—my family takes me with them all the time, and I love it. I also have great house manners, so I’m a pleasure to be around at home. I  don't like to be be left alone . My primary breed is one that likes to keep their flock safe and I am very serious about that job. Currently I go everywhere with my family. I've been told that a patient consistent and gentle handling and understanding who I am would really help me a lot. I would love to have a family that could understand me and what my limits were. I try really hard to please but I need a consistent message of love and encouragement to make me the best boy. I know I can. You just have to work with me to let me know. I promise to be the bestest boy.  So, I'm supposedly Anatolian mixed with German Shepherd. Pretty cute!   This a courtesy post and I'll be waiting in Berkeley. You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic.  Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!.  If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.  You can also sponsor Baxter by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Baxter’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food, treats, toys, supplements and medical expenses. Baxter thanks you! BAGSR is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. BAGSR covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide the love and a soft place to crash.https://petstablished.com/foster_form/42405/generic ##2159404##

*Courtesy Post for Solano Shelter* Meet Leon! Leon is neutered and vaccinated; he is estimated about 5 years old and is currently at Solano County shelter adoption floor but the shelter is impacted like many across the state. Shelter ID: A294722 If you would like to foster or foster to adopt through our program please contact us: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/fosterapplication Email coordinators@heartsforpawsrescue.com or info@heartsforpawsrescue.com The dogs posted have tested well with dogs and have exhibited affiliative behaviors/done well with new people. Please keep in mind we always recommend slowly introducing animals in the home and taking proper precautions to feed separately, and if needed be able to have a safe, separate space. Since they are in the shelter still, we do not always know or are able to know if they are good with cats. Since they are kenneled 23.5-24 hours a day we can not guarantee they are housetrained; please keep in mind even housetrained dogs may have accidents as they adjust to a new home and schedule.

Story
Meet Cookie! Weighing around 75 pounds, Cookie is a total goofy sweetheart who loves people. Cookie is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. Cookie can be selective with other dogs, especially while on leash, but does great with a proper introduction. Cookie knows all kinds of commands, is housebroken, and is very food motivated. Due to her size, she would likely do best in a home without small children (although dog-savvy children 10+ would be okay). She has a lot of energy, and would love to be a part of life's adventures with you!
