*D.O.B: 9-15-2021*Are you looking for the happiest boy ever? Look no further than Drake! This delightful dog was rescued from an overcrowded shelter, and he`s now ready to find his forever home. Drake is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.Originally found as a stray, we don`t know much about Drake`s past, but we do know that he`s a very good boy! Drake gets along well with other playful and active dogs. Being a larger dog, he would thrive in a home setting where he can enjoy ample space and activity.Drake is an enthusiastic jumper, but after some playtime outside, he calms down nicely. He is kennel and potty trained. While he does pull on the leash, it`s just because he`s excited to go for a walk!If you`re ready to meet Drake, apply on our website at eastshoreha.org. Once your application is processed and approved, our staff will contact you to schedule your personal meet and greet. Please note, we are currently operating by appointment only, so be sure to apply online!Drake can`t wait to find a loving home where he can share his boundless joy and playful energy. Story
Macie is just a young girl at about 6 months old who had a rough start to life. Macie was found as a stray with an embedded collar that has healed beautifully. She walks with a limp due to an old injury that she sustained around 1-2 months of age that has healed and left her right leg shorter than the others. But that doesn’t slow her down at all! She is such a sweet, kind, goofy girl that is full of love and energy. She LOVES to play with her toys, cuddle, and gives lots of kisses. She is great with kids, other dogs and cats. Shes is a great listener, great in cars, kennel trained and is doing very well with potty training. She is working on her manners but she knows how to sit, lay down, down, and stay. She is happiest when she’s with her family. She does well in the kennel and outside when left alone. A true people-pleaser, Macie is a friendly pup who thrives on attention and love. She is a super mutt, our best guess being a terrier of some kind! She is currently about 20 lbs and we anticipate her to be medium sized full grown. Macie is located in Texas. Her adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, and spay. If you are interested in adopting Macie please complete the adoption application at the link below. Story
My name is Apollo, and I just turned three years old in December 2024. I’ve now been at NAS for over one year and all I’m wishing for is a family of my own. I was found as a stray initially and have been growing up in the shelter and my foster home. To share a little bit about me, my #1 favorite thing is cuddling. I love to burrow underneath the covers and snuggle up with people. If I’m not under the covers, I`ll crawl up into your arms so you can hold me. I know I`m not a little guy, but I`m not too big to hold, right? I`m also very good at walks, but I need to be reminded sometimes not to pull on my leash. My foster parents say I`m really smart and that I`m really quick to learn new tricks, especially when food is involved. I know all kinds of tricks now, and I`m a very good listener. Sometimes I get a little too excited when I`m around other dogs, but I am muzzle trained. I like spending time outside so I can get my daily zoomies in. When I`m inside, I love to look out the window so I can let my foster parents know who`s out there. Lastly, I have a really expressive face and I`m good at using it to communicate my needs, whether it`s dinner time, play time, or I need to go outside. I hope to meet you soon! I really don’t want to spend another birthday without my forever family. Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Ronald Weasley is looking for his very special family! Ron has been working with his staff best friends and a behaviorist for a few months now on some anxiety, reactivity to strangers, and sensitivity to handling. Now we believe he’s ready to go to a home where his future family will continue his behavior management while understanding his quirks and challenges. Ronald’s training has consisted of: - Muzzle training - Engage-disengage training - Body handling - Appropriate leash walking with a gentle leader - Positive introductions to new people and dogs Ron’s been learning with Pawsitive Directions. NAS will sponsor his first behavioral session after his adoption. This will help him to succeed in his new home. Additionally, several staff members who’ve been working closely with Ron would be willing to coach a potential adopter through some of Ron’s training to help ease his transition. Ronald LOVES stuffies and he plays very gently with his toys. He enjoys car rides, walks, and belly rubs or snuggles from his favorite people. He has enjoyed meeting and playing with other dogs but he tends to feed off their energy, for this reason we believe a calmer confident dog would be the best dog sibling for him. While in our care we’ve learned that when Ron is with his BFF, Clark, who loves meeting new people, Ron is less reactive to strangers and warms up to them much quicker. Here’s what Ronald needs to best succeed in his new home: - Fenced yard - Physical fence due to territorial behaviors - No young kids - Continuation of his daily Apoquel and Fluoxetine medications - Lots of stuffies! Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website.
