Story
Miss Piggie was found on a back road in the middle of nowhere. Cold, starving and scared Miss Piggie was defensive and barked at everyone that approached her. Luckily an officer reached out to a staff member for help. After many hotdog pieces and talking, Miss Piggie was able to be looped. She was happy to be snuggled in a warm blanket on the way to the shelter. Miss Piggie is still shy and slowly opening up to meeting new people. She will need multiple meetings with her new family. Older kids will be best due to her fearfulness towards strangers. She is also learning that other dogs can be friends. If you think Miss Piggie will be the right fit for you apply today!*Miss Piggie is currently at the shelter. We will not know how her house training will be.

Story
Are you looking to have your dog skills and experience challenged? Do you have the patience of a saint? Then Mighty is ready to test you. Seriously, he’s an 8.6 magnitude earthquake in a city without building codes. He is a rainstorm on a herd of Gremlins, after midnight… with a plate of food. For example: 1. Speaking of rainstorms – he hates them. As well as fireworks. Just about any loud, new, or odd noise scares him. He is even afraid of his farts. 2. He has the leash manners like some of those shoppers on Black Friday. You know, where the store is giving away an item to the first 200 guests. He just gets so excited sometimes he feels the need to jump up and grab the leash and walk himself. 3. Mighty has an allergy or several. No chicken for sure and probably no other poultry. Grains make him itchy, and sometimes he gets pink. 4. He’s one of those “blocky headed” dogs… pit balls, pot bois, pibbles, poblanos, whatever. 5. He’s nervous with new people, and he warms up to women quicker than men. Do you know that site with all the dogs who love the UPS guy? Mighty will not likely be making an appearance on that site. Here are some things we also know about Mighty. He completely loves his people. Once you’re in, you’re in for life. He likes to make new people friends, too, and that takes some time and treats… and those are treats without caramel color, because you know, the allergies. He loves attention, training, and showing his set of learned skills. He likes drinking from the hose, being outside with his people, and helping with yard work. If you have sticks, he’ll chew them. If you’re pulling weeds, he’ll shake them and spit them out…mostly. With patience, proper introductions, and some training, Mighty possibly could live with another dog. He previously lived with a female dog and a cat! He has not had the best of experiences with other animals since then, so we tend to err on the side of caution. We’ve loved this guy from the moment we saw him tied to a tree with a note stating, “My name is Mighty, …just tell me it’s OK Needs a good home and lots of love” We’ve come a long way from where he wouldn’t go near the car, wouldn’t go up or down the stairs, and only went outside to do his business. He now, cannot wait for the next car ride and uses the stairs like Rocky. (Except for the basement stairs, they’re still scary.) We’re not going to lie though; his forever home is one in a million. His new home will require experience, management, smarts, time and dedication. As they say, nothing worthwhile comes easy and nothing that comes easy is worthwhile. Mighty is a sweet, playful, loving dog, and is very loyal in his devotion to his people. He has quite a few quirks, but hey, who doesn’t? He has a long life ahead of him, and deserves an active, loving home that will always tell him, it’s OK.

Story
Oliver is an 12-week-old mixed breed puppy with a heart bigger than his floppy ears. While we’re not entirely sure what breeds are in his family tree, the veterinarian guesses he’s got a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Kelpie and a whole lot of adorable mystery. What we do know for sure is that Oliver is 100% lovable! Oliver and his littermates were discovered in an abandoned building in Texas. Thankfully, our amazing friends at Waterford Wags stepped in to rescue them and reached out to us for help. Now, after lots of care and TLC, Oliver and his siblings are healthy, happy, and ready to find their adoptive homes. Oliver is up to date on immunizations, dewormed, and microchipped. We follow the ASPCA guidelines, which means our adoptions are straightforward and compassionate. No invasive home checks or lengthy applications here—just thoughtful, conversation-based adoptions to match pups with the right families. If you’re ready to bring some puppy love into your life, Oliver might just be the perfect fit! License number: DS-537371

Story
Odette is a 12-week-old mixed breed sweetheart with a whole lot of charm! She’s the kind of pup that wins hearts wherever she goes. While we can’t say for certain what her breed mix is, our veterinarian’s best guess includes American Staffordshire Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Kelpie, and a generous helping of pure adorable mystery. Odette and her littermates had a rough start—discovered in an abandoned building in Texas. Luckily, our amazing friends at Waterford Wags swooped in to save them and reached out to us for help. After lots of love, good food, and belly rubs, Odette is thriving! She’s even bouncing back beautifully from a little skin mishap (nothing gruesome, we promise—her gorgeous coat is growing in wonderfully). She’s up to date on immunizations, dewormed, microchipped, and ready to find her adoptive home! At Blackberry Point Haven, we believe adoption should be fun and meaningful, not filled with red tape. That’s why we follow the ASPCA guidelines for conversation-based adoptions—no lengthy applications, no home invasions, just thoughtful discussions to ensure the best match for both pup and family. Story
Meet Anita! Age: Golden Oldie (12+ years old) Weight: 42 pounds Good with: Dogs and all humans, but I haven't met any cats just yet! House trained: yes! Crate trained: not needed, I'm a perfect lady. Special needs: I have some vision impairments, so steps aren't really ideal, and my hearing isn't so great anymore either, but I'm pretty much good as gold otherwise! I'm just a lovely lady looking to find her forever people to spend the rest of my days with! I really enjoy being with my humans as much as possible, so if you could take me with you all the places you go, I'd be one happy gal. I enjoy car rides, and I walk well on a leash, so I promise to be on my best behavior on our adventures together. If you must leave me home, I'll voice my displeasure in it, but I promise to settle down and nap while you're away and not get into any trouble. Heck, if you give me a Kong filled with peanut butter, that'll keep me occupied for a while, too! I'm really just looking for some nice humans to let me sleep in bed with them (I can still manage to jump on and off the furniture just fine on my own) and show me a little love here and there. That's not too much to ask, right? I promise to make you laugh and love you right back. With every beat of my heart. Are you ready to make a little space in your heart and home for me? *Anita is being fostered in Plover, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.
