Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 11/23/2024 Dog Name: Chief Sex: Male Estimated Breed Mix: American Staffordshire Terrier  Birthdate: 6/1/24 Approximate Weight: 51 lbs Litter: Flower Power Description: Cheif (aka Snap Dragon) and his siblings are so incredibly sweet! Their mom Lola gave birth to them on their trip from Texas to Wisconsin (her picture is the last one posted)! It was quite the start to their young lives! Chief LOVES to play, is 90% potty trained, crate trained and a frequent napper. If you're looking for a cuddly companion, this is your guy! Chief is very friendly towards new people! He's also a very smart boy, he already learned to 'sit', 'stay', 'come' and 'shake.' He does great meeting new dogs! He loves to play with other dogs, but he's also content laying around the house. He does better with children over 7. Chief likes to go on walks and runs, play fetch, and go for car rides. His favorite treats are pup cups, antler chews, yak bones, and toys where he has to work to get treats out!       Adoption Fee: $450We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are 6 months to 1 year or age. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.  at one of our preferred clinics. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. November 24, 2024, 3:17 am

Story
I know you're having a hard time resisting falling in love with my doofy grin. It's ok, I get that a lot. My name is Clyde and doofy is exactly what I am. I'm the happiest boy, and I love clod-hopping around. As much as I love playing, I like lounging around even more. I'm perfectly happy to rot with you on the couch while we binge all of Netflix. I'm estimated to be a six year old, pittie mix, and I weigh about 70lb. I'm crate trained and potty trained on a schedule. I'm still learning manners and to understand my size, but I'm doing better every day. I'm also VERY food motivated, so training me is easy peasy. Don't miss out on adding me to your family - apply now!

Story
Are you looking to have your dog skills and experience challenged? Do you have the patience of a saint? Then Mighty is ready to test you. Seriously, he’s an 8.6 magnitude earthquake in a city without building codes. He is a rainstorm on a herd of Gremlins, after midnight… with a plate of food. For example: 1. Speaking of rainstorms – he hates them. As well as fireworks. Just about any loud, new, or odd noise scares him. He is even afraid of his farts. 2. He has the leash manners like some of those shoppers on Black Friday. You know, where the store is giving away an item to the first 200 guests. He just gets so excited sometimes he feels the need to jump up and grab the leash and walk himself. 3. Mighty has an allergy or several. No chicken for sure and probably no other poultry. Grains make him itchy, and sometimes he gets pink. 4. He’s one of those “blocky headed” dogs… pit balls, pot bois, pibbles, poblanos, whatever. 5. He’s nervous with new people, and he warms up to women quicker than men. Do you know that site with all the dogs who love the UPS guy? Mighty will not likely be making an appearance on that site. Here are some things we also know about Mighty. He completely loves his people. Once you’re in, you’re in for life. He likes to make new people friends, too, and that takes some time and treats… and those are treats without caramel color, because you know, the allergies. He loves attention, training, and showing his set of learned skills. He likes drinking from the hose, being outside with his people, and helping with yard work. If you have sticks, he’ll chew them. If you’re pulling weeds, he’ll shake them and spit them out…mostly. With patience, proper introductions, and some training, Mighty possibly could live with another dog. He previously lived with a female dog and a cat! He has not had the best of experiences with other animals since then, so we tend to err on the side of caution. We’ve loved this guy from the moment we saw him tied to a tree with a note stating, “My name is Mighty, …just tell me it’s OK Needs a good home and lots of love” We’ve come a long way from where he wouldn’t go near the car, wouldn’t go up or down the stairs, and only went outside to do his business. He now, cannot wait for the next car ride and uses the stairs like Rocky. (Except for the basement stairs, they’re still scary.) We’re not going to lie though; his forever home is one in a million. His new home will require experience, management, smarts, time and dedication. As they say, nothing worthwhile comes easy and nothing that comes easy is worthwhile. Mighty is a sweet, playful, loving dog, and is very loyal in his devotion to his people. He has quite a few quirks, but hey, who doesn’t? He has a long life ahead of him, and deserves an active, loving home that will always tell him, it’s OK.

Story
JJ loves his foster humans, dog friends, and even the cats. He loves to play with toys, swim in the lake/baby pool, and wrestle with his friends. When he's all wore out, he snuggles with his playmates. JJ would love a furrever home with an active family, his own baby pool, and a playful furr sibling. JJ is a perfect medium size dog. He looks bigger than he is in pictures. He is only about 40 pounds. He will make someone a great family pet. JJ is fostered in North Alabama but is available to other areas via transport. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, is heartworm negative and on preventatives. Apply at https:/forrescue.net

Story
Meet Anita! Age: Golden Oldie (12+ years old) Weight: 42 pounds Good with: Dogs and all humans, but I haven't met any cats just yet! House trained: yes! Crate trained: not needed, I'm a perfect lady. Special needs: I have some vision impairments, so steps aren't really ideal, and my hearing isn't so great anymore either, but I'm pretty much good as gold otherwise! I'm just a lovely lady looking to find her forever people to spend the rest of my days with! I really enjoy being with my humans as much as possible, so if you could take me with you all the places you go, I'd be one happy gal. I enjoy car rides, and I walk well on a leash, so I promise to be on my best behavior on our adventures together. If you must leave me home, I'll voice my displeasure in it, but I promise to settle down and nap while you're away and not get into any trouble. Heck, if you give me a Kong filled with peanut butter, that'll keep me occupied for a while, too! I'm really just looking for some nice humans to let me sleep in bed with them (I can still manage to jump on and off the furniture just fine on my own) and show me a little love here and there. That's not too much to ask, right? I promise to make you laugh and love you right back. With every beat of my heart. Are you ready to make a little space in your heart and home for me? *Anita is being fostered in Plover, WI. Story
Meet Beans! This goofy little guy proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder—especially when you look like him! With an underbite that can melt the iciest of hearts and a face that practically screams, “Love me!” how could you resist? Beans spent five days living on the streets before a kind rescuer picked him up, and now he’s ready for his forever home. We’re not quite sure what his mix is, but the vet thinks he’s some kind of Bulldog/ Shih Tzu. At 42 pounds, Beans is definitely more of a teapot than a teacup Shih Tzu! He’s ready to bring the love and laughter, all he needs is a chance! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.
