Story
Meet Anita! Age: Golden Oldie (12+ years old) Weight: 42 pounds Good with: Dogs and all humans, but I haven't met any cats just yet! House trained: yes! Crate trained: not needed, I'm a perfect lady. Special needs: I have some vision impairments, so steps aren't really ideal, and my hearing isn't so great anymore either, but I'm pretty much good as gold otherwise! I'm just a lovely lady looking to find her forever people to spend the rest of my days with! I really enjoy being with my humans as much as possible, so if you could take me with you all the places you go, I'd be one happy gal. I enjoy car rides, and I walk well on a leash, so I promise to be on my best behavior on our adventures together. If you must leave me home, I'll voice my displeasure in it, but I promise to settle down and nap while you're away and not get into any trouble. Heck, if you give me a Kong filled with peanut butter, that'll keep me occupied for a while, too! I'm really just looking for some nice humans to let me sleep in bed with them (I can still manage to jump on and off the furniture just fine on my own) and show me a little love here and there. That's not too much to ask, right? I promise to make you laugh and love you right back. With every beat of my heart. Are you ready to make a little space in your heart and home for me? *Anita is being fostered in Plover, WI. Story
Miss Piggie was found on a back road in the middle of nowhere. Cold, starving and scared Miss Piggie was defensive and barked at everyone that approached her. Luckily an officer reached out to a staff member for help. After many hotdog pieces and talking, Miss Piggie was able to be looped. She was happy to be snuggled in a warm blanket on the way to the shelter. Miss Piggie is still shy and slowly opening up to meeting new people. She will need multiple meetings with her new family. Older kids will be best due to her fearfulness towards strangers. She is also learning that other dogs can be friends. If you think Miss Piggie will be the right fit for you apply today!*Miss Piggie is currently at the shelter. We will not know how her house training will be.

Story
Born: May 06, 2020 I am 35lbs and l am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $150 Say hello to Xena! This super sweet and loving dog has come a long way since her shy beginnings at AHS. Xena's personality has truly blossomed! She loves going on walks and meeting new people. While she gets along well with other dogs, Xena would thrive as the only dog in the house, enjoying all the attention. Xena does get along with some dogs outside of the house. She'd do best in a home with older, respectful children. Could this warrior princess be your new best friend? Make an appointment to meet this sweetheart! All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon!
