Story
This big boy started off very timid, shy, super skinny, and no fur. It turned out all he needed was so much love! He now has all of his fur back, has put on so much weight, and has so much loves and kisses to give! He has come into his own personality, he is protective, strong, energetic, and needs discipline. He has such puppy energy, we take him on morning runs, he loves the beach, he loves playing with our other two dogs. One Pitbull terroir she is 10 years old and another that is a puppy at 5 months old.  He can sit, stay, shake, lay down, and wait until called for his food. He is NOT fond of cats at all. I have a Catio in the back yard and have tried numerous times but he doesn’t understand and can’t control his excitement for something so unseen before. He is crate trained and puttied trained. With his strong body he needs work on pulling when walking on a leash and when he someone, something, or a new doggy he gets so excited he barks and goes crazy but it is only because he doesn’t know. I learned big group settings may be to overwhelming for him, as I have tried to take him to the dog park but he yelps and goes crazy in an overwhelmed way but when he meets a dog one on one after the first sniff he understands and he is so happy and sweet. I did enforce a bark collar but I only used it when necessary to teach him that he doesn’t need to bark to get his way, this is not a tool used daily nor very often it was only to show him that he can’t bark to get his way. Once he realized he shouldn’t be barking consistently he only barks to let me know when he has to epee or alert me if someone is walking up. Overall he is the sweetest boy with so much energy and strength and so much love he can’t wait to give his future family. He needs a family that will give him time and love and space to run as well as a very active life style. He has been around children as low as a 1.5 year old, he showed only signs of love, the only things is, he such a big goof ball he doesn’t know his strength so when he walks or runs or throws his body he doesn’t understand his strength. to meet me email BARCFOSTER@HOUSTONTX.GOV

Story
My name is Junebug.   I am around 4-5 years old and am a bulldog or maybe a bulldog mix. My favorite activities are lounging, eating, and belly rubs!  Although I’m 65 pounds, I would love nothing more than to sit in your lap and stream your favorite show!  I love snuggles and would prefer to be the only dog in the home receiving them.  I’m a sweet, goofy girl that loves a routine.  At times,  I can get over-excited but I’m easily corrected. I can also be a little bossy so someone who has dog experience and can properly correct me would be good.  A home with adults only would be the ideal fit for me. I’ve been with Scouts Honor for a long while and truly deserve a forever home!    Scout's Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters. EIN # is 87-0773073 Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/scoutshonorrescue or Instagram at www.instagram.com/scoutshonorrescue We have multiple ways to donate: Venmo:  @ScoutsHonor-Rescue Paypal: www.paypal.me/scoutshonorrescue   https://scoutshonor.org/take-action/donate/ We are strictly volunteer based, no salaries are paid and 100% of donations go towards rescuing dogs November 5, 2024, 1:18 am

Story
Meet this sweet boy, Georgie (previously Bruno), who was abandoned at a local dog park. One of our volunteers found him with a note attached. He had a family but they could no longer care for him so they left him where they hoped a true dog lover would find him. Fortunately, the plan worked. Georgie is about 10 months old, possibly lab, boxer mix. He is vaccinated and neutered and heartworm negative! He is a sweet boy but like most young pups needs training and exercise. Check out this video by Georgie's foster  https://vimeo.com/934607900/8e64769336?share=copy If you are interested in adopting this adorable boy who is so deserving of a great home fill out our application right away,  www.scoutshonor.org    November 5, 2024, 1:18 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chango has found himself needing a new home. His family will miss him, but their living situation is changing. He is a great dog, gets along well with other dogs and loves his people.   Original Bio: Hello everyone allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chango. Lots of changes have been happening in my life lately. I have been wandering the streets looking for food when I was given the greatest opportunity to be fed everyday and even have my own soft, warm bed. I’m still a youngster approximately 1 year old, I’m a little under weight but I love to eat so it won’t take me any time at all to gain some weight. I am heart worm negative and received a clean bill of health. I am well behaved in the kennel. While I am still in the puppy stage I have mastered potty training and I love to run fast. I’m still learning what toys are for-didn’t have too many on the streets. I’m looking for an active home that will play fetch, preferably older kids (just so I don’t knock little ones down) I’m good with other dogs so that would be a plus, I like long walks in the evenings and in exchange I promise to give lots of cuddles and many years of being your best friend.
