Story
(Dallas, Texas - Foster/Adopter desperately needed) King truly needs a hero, and we know that people with generous and kind hearts are out there. King is a playful guy, about 4.5 ~5 y & 40-45 lbs, so loving and content with whatever affection you'd give him. (a couple of videos in the Comment) King was abandoned and left alone in a small backyard run/kennel for 4 years exposed to all weather elements and confined in isolation and loneliness. We were so heartbroken seeing him carrying his bowl panting alone in the heat and dirt last summer, so Angie rescued him. Yet, without a foster, King's been living in a crate at a boarding facility for a year, and we desperately want him to have a chance to learn and enjoy living in a home! King's had several training sessions at the boarding facility, learned some basic commands and to trust humans, and is especially smitten by ladies. King's now a happy guy and loves loves the attention (& treats, of course). King enjoys a quiet life with NO other animal, being with humans, and feeling the breeze and sunlight on his face. King's content with carrying and chewing his toys by himself without the bother of the world. We really believe that a soul who suffered years of neglect and desolation deserves an understanding person/family to love him, and King'd give absolute devotion in return. King needs to be the only dog, is fixed, crate and house trained, and shots up to date. Please let us know if your home has a warm spot for King (for foster, Angie's Friends will provide everything that King needs).  October 13, 2024, 11:35 pm

Story
Hati here, and I'm super excited to introduce myself! I'm equal parts couch potato and eager beaver. Most of the time I can be found snoozing on the couch or in my bed , but I'm always down for a good walk around the neighborhood or playtime with my toys . One thing you should know about me is that I love grass, but grass does not love me. Playing outside is one of my favorite hobbies, but it makes my skin a little itchy. I'm an expert eater and bubble bather because special food and bath time keep my skin itch-free. But can I tell you a secret? My favorite food is whatever the humans are eating. Shhh, don't tell . Not to toot my own horn, but I'm an expert cuddler. No need for a blanket when you've got me around. I'm a super affectionate girl and I love attention - from humans that is. I'm a bit of a diva and don't like sharing the spotlight with other fur friends. Can you blame me? If you've got hands for belly scratches, a couch for cuddling, and a soul for loving, I'd love to be a part of your next big adventure (or your next movie night ). Apply to meet me today, my tail can't contain its excitement! Hati is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Hi, I'm Bella. I was once a very loved girl, but then my person passed away and the extended family couldn't keep me. I've now been looking for a new home for almost 2yrs. I am perfect in the house. I love my kennel, and I am perfectly housebroken. I like to be close to my person/people, but I don't have to be right in your lap. I'm not a clingy girl. And if you work and cannot be with me all day, no sweat! I can chill and wait for you to come home. I'd be happiest with house with a backyard, and doggie door would be a big bonus!. Oh and I also love car rides. I'm Schnauz-a-Staff!!! Part Mini-Schnauzer, part Staffordshire Terrier. I'm 45lbs and strong. A cool fact about me is I have a white mohawk that blends into a shag that runs down my whole body! I barely shed. There's no other dog like me! No sir! Overall I am easy to get along with and my personality matches my fun appearance. Once I settle in, I am a low-medium energy kind of gal. ##1818987##

Story
Meet Sheila! A vibrant approximately one-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix from Princeton, TX, whose lively spirit is matched only by her heart full of love and her stunning tricolor coat. At 47 pounds, Sheila is a perfect medium-sized bundle of joy, always ready for her next adventure—whether it's a brisk walk, a backyard zoomie session, or playtime with her favorite squeaky toys and chewy bones! Sheila is smart as a whip and always eager to please, especially when treats are involved! She’s already mastered "sit," "stay," "no," and "outside," and she’s learning how to heel on her walks. Speaking of walks, Sheila absolutely adores them, though her enthusiasm might have her trying to lead the way! A family who enjoys daily walks or has a secure fenced yard where she can run and play would be an excellent match for her energy. She’s a sweetheart with other dogs, greeting every pup she meets with a wagging tail and playful energy. Cats, on the other hand, remain a mystery since she hasn’t had much interaction with them. At home, Sheila is crate-trained and house-trained (she learned quickly—what a smart girl!), but she’ll need to stay crated when left alone since her curious nature sometimes leads her to chew on things she shouldn’t. Sheila’s endearing personality shines through in everything she does, from her goofy facial expressions to the sweet kisses she loves to give. She’s a big fan of gazing out the window, keeping tabs on the neighborhood between play sessions. However, rainy or snowy days? Not her favorite—she prefers her potty breaks under sunnier skies. Sheila is looking for a new loving home where her new pet parent(s) can give her the care, playtime, and attention she thrives on. She comes with her belongings to make the transition easier, and she’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of wagging tails to her new family! Could Sheila be the spirited companion you’ve been searching for? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet this lovable girl today!

Story
This precious girl is Nia. She is a terrier mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 8/3. Yes, you read that correctly. She has been at the shelter for well over three months. Nia weighs 56 pounds, is about 3 years of age and is spayed. The volunteer who did her original eval named her Nia because it means bright and she certainly lives up to her name. She’s a bright shining star! She does well on a leash. She knows the sit command, she will do so for treats and takes them nicely. She has an easy-going personality and a calm and gentle demeanor. She spent a great deal of time during the photo session exploring the yard. She is a friendly and affectionate girl, OK with being petted and I’m told she gives kisses, though I did not receive any today. She is patiently waiting and hoping that one day soon someone will stop in front of her kennel window, ask to spend time with her and fall head-over-heels in love with her! She must insist on being an inside dog because she wants to socialize and be an integral part of the family circle. Please help Nia’s residence at the shelter to quickly come to an end so that she can begin her new life in her forever home.

Story
COURTESY POST: Meet Rocky. He is a sweet boy who has been with his current caretakers for a long time. Rocky is a social butterfly and loves the company of cats, kids, and other dogs. He is currently in boarding and desperately needs a foster home or an adopter. Rocky is fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Please consider giving Rocky a loving home. Rocky is about 4 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Please note that we don't recommend Rocky to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Diamond is a sweet, silly affectionate pup who is absolutely full of energy. Diamond is 3 1/2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. She is a boxer mix with short straight red fur. I adopted Diamond in June from the SPCA after she spent the first 3 years of her life in the shelter. Due to how she spent the first part of her life, Diamond does have some anxieties and reactive behaviors. She does best with other dogs her size or bigger when we go to the dog park. Due to her excitability, she can be overwhelming for smaller dogs and sometimes gets a bit too rough with them. Diamond is not great with cats at all. Diamond loves people and children, but because of her size and strength, older children (over age 6 or 7) would probably be best. While she is high-energy, Diamond loves to snuggle and definitely thinks she is a lap dog. Diamond would do best in a home with a yard. She loves being outdoors and would stay out there all day if allowed. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m having to rehome her due to my living and working situation and not being able to give her the amount of training and space she really needs to thrive. She needs someone who can train her well and who can address her reactive behaviors. Diamond really is a sweet dog who is great to snuggle up with. She just needs and deserves more than I can give her at this current time. Diamond is up to date on all shots through May 2025. She has been microchipped, spayed and is mostly house-trained (accidents still sometimes happen). This lovable, active pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you?
