Ladybug LOVES people, she has never met a stranger and identifies as a Lap dog. She is bouncy and energetic, but loves to snuggle and loves attention. She is pretty strong and is working on her leash manners, she rides very well in the car and is house and crate trained. She is smart and loves treats, especially Peanut Butter. She is learning how to run next to a bike for exercise - and while she loves to run short distances, she is "built for feed, not for speed". She is very friendly with all people she meets, is pretty exuberant when her family comes home, a.k.a. jumpy and is slowly learning to control that impulse. She is overall pretty quiet and only barks briefly at valid causes, like doorbell ringing. Ladybug is a little reactive when she first meets new dogs, mostly do to her excitement of meeting new dogs, and she bounces their energy back - if they are rude, so is she. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, one she wants to play with (he doesn't) and the other she stays clear of (grumpy dog). She is interested in the cats, chases if they run, sniffs and walks away if they don't run. At this time she is looking for a home with a rather strong handler as she is a bit of a "house hippo" and pulls rather strong on the leash when walking.  ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets*** ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
Theo is 2 years old and has a lot of energy! Theo really is a sweet pet but I feel he is not getting the love and attention he deserves. He needs more space and someone who has more time and resources to love him the way he should be loved. I also recently found out I’m allergic to dogs :( This was a hard decision but I just want what’s best for Theo.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're looking for a furry friend that's full of fun, smart and energetic then Gunnar is your boy! He and his litter mates were born just a week after their momma was rescued from scrounging in a train yard. Gunnar is so much fun! He loves running after his 6 pound foster sister and playing tug with his rope toy! He's so proud of himself when you ask 'where's tug?' and he runs to find it! He'll prance around with his head held high! This boy loves people! Once introductions are made he quickly wants to be your friend. Gunnar is such a lovable clown. Walks are a great adventure! He would be best in a home with another dog to bond and play with. Older respectful children would be a bonus! He would be a wonderful addition to your family! With his soulful amber eyes and wrinkled forehead he will steal your heart! ========================================================= Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application . Puppies that are under 4 months old cannot be adopted outside of our Veterinary Service area.  Please call for specific locations. Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs.   In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events.  Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Flower is a very sweet little girl. She just LOVES every human she meets! She does not seem to be fazed by cats at all, she tends to ignore them. She is currently being fostered with cats, other dogs, and childern. Flower is a very big cuddle bug girly and just wants to be a lap doggy. She enjoys going on car rides and looking out of the closed window. Flower does prefer to be indoors, as she will go outside to go potty, then waits by the door to come inside.   =============== Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog.
