Story
I’m Gatlin, a beautiful brindle American Staffordshire terrier mix who would love to have a forever home for my senior years. (I’m Gatty or Gatty-girl to my friends at the Humane Society of York County.)I came to HSYC from York County Animal Services. My estimated birth date is September 2013, and I’m about 55 pounds.Though I’m a senior citizen, I’m an active, strong girl who loves playtime in the yard at the rescue. I particularly love squeaky balls and am adept at taking them apart! I also enjoy my daily walks, which help me get out my energy and enjoy time outdoors with my human friends.I’m selective about the people I want to spend time with – if I love a person, I really, really love them. The same is true if I don’t. I’m a very smart girl and I read people very well!As much as I love to play with a ball in the yard, I would much rather spend quality time with the many people I love. I need to be the only pet in my forever home, and no small children. A dog-savvy person or family that is willing to give me time to adjust is important – time for us to connect and build trust. If you have the calm, stable home I’m craving, please call to meet me!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Contact the foster at, bnstryker2018@icloud.comBurt is a sweet boy who would do best in a home where he is the only animal, no small children, and a family who will play fetch and tug-of-war with him as often as possible!-Very friendly, lovable, and loves attention-Great in the car (enjoys sticking his head out the window)-LOVES to play (loves chew toys and fetch)-Knows sit, shake, and speak-Seems to be crate trained-Doesn’t bark much-Decent on the leash, but is very strong and will sometimes pull-Doesn’t act like he’s 7. Burt has just as much energy as our 3.5 year old lab and can keep up with her! He still has many playful, happy years ahead of him!-Very interested in cats (perhaps a little too interested). I did not allow them to interact due to the small size of the kitten (only 6 weeks and less than 2 lbs), but he may be okay with adult cats. Would recommend very slow introduction to cats.-Has been around other dogs in the past but Burt tends to give inappropriate hugs and makes the other dog uncomfortable. This has lessend since his neuter.-Burt isn’t very careful with his mouth when playing or taking food from hands, which is why I recommend a home with no small children. He’s not aggressive in any way, he just also isn’t very careful or graceful.

Story
Please contact foster at lisayevonne@outlook.comHi, I’m Geo! I’m a 6 year old, certified good boy. The staff and volunteers say I’m their favorite! I make friends wherever I go. Do you like hiking, going on adventures, and eating good food? Me too! I never tire of adventuring my neighborhood, car rides, or all the good treats I get - I can even sit and take easy. Do you have kids, dogs, or cats? No problem! I’m as cool as a cucumber, I get along well with all my house friends (results may vary, slow and proper intros always encouraged!). Just saying, I’m a great catch, and I bet you’ll think so too if we get to hang out! Reach out to my people, they’ll hook us up. Can’t wait!Geo,• Loves to walk and explore - great on leash, nonreactive• Very food motivated - will do tricks for treats• Never meets a stranger - polite and courteous to dogs and kids on walks• Great in crate, uses it outside, can be trusted with toys and blankets in kennel• Good with cats and little dogs, does not chase squirrels or birds

Thanks to our generous donors, my adoption fee will be waived!-He is an absolute delight and joy to be around. -Crate trained-Rides well in the car, jumped right in my truck!-Easy on the leash-Very gentle with treats-We shared lunch and he sat very patiently waiting for his share.-Dog friendly, he did great with dogs passing by on the greenway and loves people. He was very chill.-He was a little barky at the dog park meeting other dogs through the fence but I felt it wasn`t aggressive just saying hello.-Very interested in cats and tends to be vocal when seeing them. May be better with a cat free home.-Did not meet any children, but he loved everyone that came by to give him pets.-Easy to leash and walk-Calm & gentle demeanor-Affectionate: loves being pet, snuggles, and giving kisses-Loves to play but is also happy just hanging out. He loves toys and balls.-Knows basic commands-Treat-motivated -Total gentleman on outing

Story
My dogs name is nugget and he’s a really really really great loving dog! He is house trained, great with people and my kids. I have never walked him with a leash ever he’s knows not to go in the street, pretty much just let him do his thing we don’t have a backyard in my townhome community so we have a little area where he knows to do his thing. He does have allergies, I’ve been giving him apoquel for his allergies about one a day and it seems to do the trick. He does have some skin issues on his back from before the apoquel and we were trying to figure out how to help him but other than that he just wants to play all day. I’m starting a trucking career oct 28th and unfortunately I won’t be able to bring him with me and my wife doesn’t like dogs he was pretty much mine so gonna have to find him a new home
