Story
Meet Rubi Provac, an affectionate and social almost 1-year-old pit bull mix looking for her perfect forever home. She came from a local shelter after being surrendered from a home with about seven other dogs, and she truly thrives in the company of other canines. Currently in a foster home with multiple dogs coming and going, Rubi gets along with everyone she meets. She’s also incredible with children and has been around kids as young as four with no issues. Rubi will need another dog in her forever home, as she experiences significant anxiety when left alone without a canine companion. However, when she has another dog by her side, she does just fine. She’s not a fan of the crate, but she’s non-destructive when left alone. Ideally, her new family would be home often to give her the companionship she craves. She hasn’t been around cats, so her reaction to them is unknown. Once Rubi bonds with you, she is as loyal as they come—a truly wonderful dog looking for a home that understands her needs and will love her for the sweet, devoted girl she is. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Thank you for your interest in Charlie! Charlie lives in an Alabama Foster Home and will transport when he is adopted. We will put the Adopter in touch with the Foster family for FaceTime and videos so that you can see your dog in real time and learn more about him. Charlie is approximately three years old and weighs 55 pounds. We do think he has German shorthair pointer and Staffordshire terrier in his breed mix. It’s possible he has a number of breeds in his DNA. What’s important is that he is a gentle and sweet dog, that is learning to trust the world around him. He likes his crate and enjoys playing with toys. Someone left Charlie on the side of the highway with another dog back in July. He was a nice dog that deserved better than the loser that dumped him. We promised Charlie a loving home. He needs 3 to 5 days to come out of his shell. He didn’t have an easy and predictable life before he was rescued. He has a thick scar on the back of his neck where he once wore an embedded collar before we met him. He no longer remembers those times. And he would look so nice in a ! You can find a video of Charlie on our Another Chance Dog Rescue Facebook page. He has not lived with cats. The cats that he sees outside of the yard upset him. He has not lived with children, but he has been good with school-age children that visit. He’s good with strangers, but can be shy at first meeting. Charlie’s adoption includes neuter, rabies, heartworm negative, multiple vaccines, and boosters, and parasite prevention. He comes with his medical records. Serious adopters should fill out the application online. Copy and paste the link into your browser. Total adoption fee $375 includes transportation to New England and a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian before transport. Story
Aslan is a stunning and loving dog who thrives in a calm, one-dog household. He has spent too much time in a crate, which isn’t fair for such a strong, affectionate boy. While he started his life with us full of potential, my alpha dogs won’t allow him to be part of the pack. Aslan would be happiest as the only “fur child” in a home with a securely fenced yard and no small children, as they make him nervous. I can’t provide the environment Aslan deserves, but I’m committed to finding him a home where he can truly thrive. He’s a loyal, beautiful companion for the right person/family.

Story
Meet Clay! Clay is an active pup who loves nothing more than companionship. He’d be just as happy sitting on the couch with his person as he would be running around the yard. Clay seems to be okay with other dogs and might even do well with another pup in the house. Currently, Clay is not looking his best. The shelter life is simply no place for this affectionate boy. While he is putting on the weight he needs, he’s far more likely to reach his weight goal sooner in a home. Our shelter staff would be more than happy to explain this further to anyone that may be interested in Clay! If you are interested in applying for Clay, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website: https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Sweet Leo, a lovable, friendly, and playful pup looking for his forever home!Born a stray in rural Mississippi, Leo’s early life wasn’t easy. As a puppy, he was chained to a tree with no shelter, but thanks to the quick action of our southern rescue partner, he was rescued and given the loving care he deserves.Leo is a social butterfly! He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and ages, happily sharing space with his numerous foster siblings. He's also been introduced to outside cats on his walks and shows no interest in them. Leo is great with kids, including his foster family's grandsons aged 10, 5, and 3. He’s gentle, loves to cuddle, and enjoys playing with them without being too rough.Every morning, Leo runs out to the backyard to play with his foster siblings, and after a bit of fun, they all come inside for breakfast and a nap. Leo loves his outdoor playtime and looks forward to it multiple times throughout the day. This happy boy is a joy on walks, perfectly mannered on a leash, and enjoys his daily strolls. He’s also a great travel buddy, doing wonderfully on car rides. Leo is fully housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. If he’s missed, he’s content using training pads. He is also is crate trained, sleeping soundly in his crate at night and staying there without making a fuss when unattended. While Leo appears to be blind in his right eye, it doesn't slow him down at all—he’s as happy and active as can be!Leo would thrive in an active home with a family who will take him on walks, adventures, and plenty of outdoor playtime. Story
Hello, my name is Camo. You have never met anyone like me. My life started terribly. I am an owner surrender fellow. The family who owned me kept me tied up to a tree. Most of the time, the people did not give me shade, fresh water, or food without bugs in my bowl. Then, one day, a rescue lady came and took me away. I came to live with her and other orphans. My life is lovely, and I am always so happy. I am ready to have a family of my own. I bounce around like I won the lottery. My ideal family will have time for me, will not keep me outside, train me (I am anxious to please you), and love me. It would be best if I had a family of my own, only a dog. My foster family is not sure how I would be with other dogs. Please request an application, and I will begin my journey home to you. Meet Laura! Laura is the smallest of her three siblings, but she has a big heart and an even bigger personality! This adorable 37 lb terrier mix was born around mid-July and has the sweetest, slightly spunky nature. With her striking green eyes and short, sturdy frame, she’s as cute as can be. Story
🎾Roger and Russell 🎾 These handsome boys are Roger(darker brindle) and Russell (lighter brindle). They are brothers that were born last May. There were ten puppies in the litter and these two brindle boys were instant buddies. They have been together since birth and are total best friends. Russel can be a little shy in new situations but as long as Roger is there to reassure him, he knows everything will be okay. They are good with other dogs but a bit freaked out by cats. The boys love going on adventures and playing in the fenced yard at their fosters house. The are great hiking buddies and love water. After their big day out, they are happy to snuggle on the sofa and chill. Roger and Russell are crate and house trained. They are quiet and mannerly when inside and entertain each other. If you have been thinking about getting a new adventure buddy, please consider these two awesome brothers. We know taking on two can be a lot to ask but these boys are just too close for us to separate. Whoever gets this special pair of brothers will definitely be double blessed. ❤️❤️
