Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Another mile stone holiday, and Sir Fredrickson is heartbroken to not have found his forever family. He felt so much love and celebrated like a champ with his foster family in the mean time. Over the holiday break there are some gift substitutions we realized Fred could do better than the original. Heated weighted blanket? Home surveillance? Roomba vacuum? Small critter deterrent? Body pillow? Fred can do them all better! If you are interested in meeting Fred, he would love to prove to you how smart and loving he is! He loves walks, car rides and cuddles of any kind! He is crate trained, housebroken and WITH supervision, can be left out off leash to potty. He adores kids/people and does great with dogs but is very playful. Fred's foster momma thinks he is about 2 years old, 60# and calls him a White Crested Snuggle Pit when everyone asks what breed he is   Patiently waiting in Carlisle PA! New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 &#226&#128&#139 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Story
Meet Chica! This sweetheart is a 55lb, 7 year old mixed breed, but don't let that age fool you she's still got some pep in that step! Chica is a destroyer of all things stuffed. No squeaker is safe with her around and she leaves a trail of stuffing everywhere she goes. She enjoys following around anyone in sight and always has to have a toy in her mouth. If you need a lazy day snuggle buddy, she is your girl! Chica is fostered with 2 dogs that she gets along well with, but is typically happy just keeping to herself with a bone or stuffed toy. She loves people of all ages and sizes. Cats are unknown at this point. Chica is potty trained, crate trained, and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. She is also a heartworm survivor and has recovered well from her treatment. Chica will be waiting in Lehighton PA to meet her forever family  New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736   We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Story
Please meet Jack, a 8 yr old very sweet, handsome little boy, looking for his forever home. Jack is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on preventative, is neutered and microchipped. Jack seems to prefer female Dogs, so a home with females or no other dog may be best and no cats please. Jack really needs a Foster home where he can be taught appropriate greeting behaviour with new people. Jack is very sweet but seems to think wrapping himself around someone's leg and holding on is the way to be affectionate, after he gets to know someone he stops that, but being this way sadly will completely hinder any adoption prospects. If you are interested in fostering or providing a forever home for our sweet Jack, please click HERE to download our Adoption Application. Please save it to your PC with your name as the title, and e-mail the saved document to: terry4553@verizon.net If you have questions about how the adoption process works, we do have our adoption process located below which we feel will answer all your questions. If after submitting your application and reading our process, you still have questions, please email Terry at terry4553@verizon.net Thank you. Please know we do not allow meetings with our dogs until we have received your adoption application. Our coverage is limited to: MD, DE and the Southeastern parts of PA, NJ

Story
Hi, I’m Lily, a sweet and snuggly senior pup with a tail that never stops wagging! I’m all about love and cuddles, and I’ve never met a human I didn’t like—whether it’s greeting my foster dad’s coworkers, making friends in the neighborhood, or hanging out with my foster family’s cats. My favorite things are leisurely strolls, cozy naps on the couch, and getting belly rubs (I’ll even do my signature “monster wiggle” to ask for them). I may have some health needs and separation anxiety, but with patience, love, and a comfy spot by your side, I promise to be your best companion ever. Bonus: I snore like a freight train, but I’m the ultimate snuggle buddy!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Aggie is a joyful, wiggly girl who will make you feel like the most important person in the world. With her always-wagging tail and eager-to-please personality, she’s your personal fan girl, ready to shower you with love and excitement. This sweet, fast little rocket could thrive in dog sports like fast CAT or agility but has a medium energy level—ready for play and exploration, then happy to settle as a couch hippo when it’s time to relax. Dog-friendly and a bit goofy around awkward pups, Aggie enjoys playing with her foster sisters and boyfriends, like Toby and the neighbor’s dogs. She’s making great progress on potty training and house manners, proving her intelligence and adaptability. Whether you’re looking for a yardwork buddy, a loyal companion, or a dog with the potential to earn ribbons, Aggie might be the perfect fit for your family.
