Story
Are you looking for that best dressed companion going into the holiday season? Sir Fredrickson III is looking sharp in his black and white tuxedo look alike! Fred is a 2 year old mixed breed and loves to please his hoomans. He loves to play with his K9 foster siblings and responds well to their correction if he starts getting too rough and tumble. Fred does fine with kids but at this time we are saying no cats. He is young, playful and strong though, so a home that will teach him about boundaries at first will be most beneficial for his transition. Fred is crate trained, house broken, and very successful with the sit, stay and leave it commands. He has been amazing with learning how not to rush the door and potty trained on a tie out leash so no more standing in the dark or the rain! We are still working on leash walking skills and controlling excitement when greeting people. Fred is also neutered, UTD on vaccines and microchipped. If interested in meeting Fred, he's anxiously awaiting in Carlisle PA! We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Story
August known as Gus is a super playful 9 month old mixed Breed. He has a stunning brindle coat and is a medium energy pup. He loves playing with his foster sister. Gus is housebroken, crate trained, and good with children. He would do best with medium to large dogs because he can be rough playing with little dogs. Gus is neutered and UTD on his vaccinations. This guy has had a long journey and is hoping to find his forever home soon. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Harley is such a great dog! A note from his foster:  He’s perfectly well-behaved in the house. House-trained, gentle and happily goes into his crate at night or when asked. He’s smart and knows some commands. Seems to take satisfaction from pleasing humans, with just enough personality to make you laugh. He knows enough to test boundaries, but quickly course-corrects. This pup is grateful for getting the pets and is thrilled with the bully-rub.  He’s happy to nap by your feet during work calls, lay in the sun, and eager to go for walks. Good on a leash. Happy to sit for his harness and takes commands well when leaving the house. His prey drive is high — gets too excited about squirrels, most birds, other critters that scurry. He’s not well-suited for other dogs. Or cats.  He’s got some hound in his mix; loves to sniff and on the occasions when a siren would pass he would sing along. (Adorable.) Not a crazy barker, but can sound fierce when he does bark. He’s more of a gentle giant with humans. Did just fine with new people coming into the home. Sheds a lot!  Harley would live his best life in a home where he’s the only pet. A privacy-fenced yard to run free in would be nice, I suspect, but he’s seemingly just as happy to live in a city and go for walks a few times a day. Contact with other dogs would have to be limited.  He’s the perfect dog if you’re looking for a loyal best friend, and don’t have other pets.  Due to his being dog selective, we will only place Admiral in a home with childern 14 and older. If you are interested in Admiral, please contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com      *** Click here to sponsor this dog! *** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

She recently finished raising a litter of puppies who have all found their forever homes—now it’s Harley’s turn!PersonalityHarley is affectionate with all people and especially loves children. However, her excitement around little ones can sometimes be overwhelming, so she’d do best in a home with older kids who can handle her enthusiasm. She’s also housebroken and crate trained, making her a well-mannered housemate. While Harley adores humans, she does not enjoy other animals in her personal space, she will need to be the only pet in her new home. Harley’s leash manners are a work in progress, as she tends to pull during walks, but she’s eager to learn with consistent training and guidance.Traits and Ideal HomeAs a typical English Bulldog, Harley is:- Loving and Loyal: She forms strong bonds with her humans and loves being the center of attention.- Stubborn and Independent: Bulldogs are known for their stubborn streak, and Harley is no exception! Patience and positive reinforcement are key to working with her personality.- Playful and Energetic: While she loves snuggles, Harley also enjoys bursts of activity and needs regular exercise to stay healthy and happy.- Strong-Willed: Bulldogs are known for their strength and determination, so a confident and experienced owner will be ideal for Harley.Harley would thrive in a home where she can be the sole focus of attention and affection. A fenced yard where she can safely play and explore would be a bonus, and her new family should have experience with strong, independent breeds like the Bulldog.Love and AffectionHarley is a loving, playful, and people-oriented dog who is ready to bring endless joy to her forever family.
