Story
Tank is a young, neutered male mixed breed who is searching for a loving and attentive home. With his affectionate nature and happy-go-lucky spirit, Tank thrives on companionship and enjoys being around people who can give him plenty of love and attention. If you’re willing to play fetch with him and give him treats, Tank will be your best friend in no time! Tank is energetic and smart, the perfect combination for someone looking to train a buddy to go on adventures with! Some of his favorite adventures include going on sniffy walks at parks and exploring pet friendly stores such as Lowe’s and Cabela’s. Tank is eager-to-please and very inquisitive, making him quick to learn new things – especially when treats are involved. In his down time, Tank enjoys joining you to watch TV, chewing on his favorite toys (especially if you pet him at the same time!), and cuddling with his humans. Although Tank was not properly socialized or treated well as a young puppy and initially struggled with anxiety, he has made significant progress. He knows his basic commands, walks well on a leash, and is house/potty trained. Additionally, Tank has greatly improved his social skills with other dogs, showing that he is adaptable and capable of learning with an owner who will put in a little time and effort. Taking him to classes with a qualified trainer would help him to reach his full potential. Tank’s foster family would be more than happy to share the training exercises they work on, and keep in touch with his new family! Tank would thrive in a home without very young children or small pets, as he is unaware of his own strength and size. He is best suited for individuals or families seeking an active dog to join them in play and outdoor adventures. If you are looking for a loyal companion who is always ready to explore and have fun, Tank could be the perfect match for you.  Tank is currently being fostered in Richfield, OH through Powellpaws.org and is available to visit at his foster home or PAWS's adoption clinics in Powell, OH. While Tank is a delight to have around, his foster family’s dog is not so fond of sharing her space. To help Tank find his forever home, his foster will pay half of the adoption fee.February 2, 2026, 1:22 pm

Story
Hi there, my name is Punkin, and I figured the best way for you to get to know me is to tell you how I like to spend my days. It always starts off with my foster mom getting up far earlier than necessary. But that's okay, while she is busy letting my four-legged foster siblings out I capitalize on some very necessary additional snooze time. I am definitely a "sets more than one alarm type girly" while I wait for my foster mom to come back and give me some extra morning snuggles followed by stretches.  In 2026 I'm trying to focus on my health and wellness. Once I'm up, I run around and play with my foster siblings (including my own son). If you didn't know, I'm a mommy! All my pups have been adopted -- including the one that is lucky enough to live at my foster mama's house forever! After a while, my foster mom tucks me into my own personal bed with a blanket in a crate for you guessed it... more nap time. If I could read, I would for sure spend my crate time reading some true crime stories while my foster mom is gone. Once she is back home she lets everyone back outside while I wait patiently in my crate for more snuggles and stretches. If my foster mom doesn't give me any snuggles than I refuse to come out of my crate. Like I said, I'm prioritizing my health and wellness this year. If my foster mom thinks I'm not gonna get snuggles multiple times a day, then she has another thing coming! At night we play until we drop -- which isn't very long for me. I would much prefer sitting on the couch and staring into my foster mama's soul a mere 3" from her face (which personally I don't think is close enough) while she watches NCIS. Then at night is my favorite part of the day where we get to snuggle up and go back to sleep. My foster mom said I should also mention that I love cats, especially nap time or showering them with kisses! I LOVE to play with other dogs, big/small/old/young - no discrimination here - I even do a great job at sharing toys and food! I also love people, I sometimes get so excited to shake my butt it gets going so fast my whole body wiggles and the girls at the vets office think I'm so cute when I do that. Unfortunately, I have developed some stranger danger and lack of confidence in new places and meeting new dogs. I'm working on it and I'm really trying so hard so when I meet my very own forever family I'll be the most perfect girl ever! Will that be you?February 5, 2026, 9:01 am

Story
Diamond is a beautiful little girl who has been through a lot of heartache in her young life. She was tied outside to brave the elements 24/7 with a wire tied around her neck. She was taken to a jigh kill Texas shelter and survived death in the euthanasia room not once, but twice. All she wants is to find someone to love and to love her back. To give her the life that she deserves and so desperately longs for. Diamond seems to be a little bit prey driven, probably from living outside her entire life.So a home with no pocket pets, cats or small dogs is probably best. A fenced yard is a plus, but not absolutely necessary. She is great on a leash and really enjoys walks. This little sweetheart is UTD on vaccines, Spayed, de wormed, flea treated, heart worm tested( negative) and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Diamond, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.

Story
A Letter From Goofy's Foster Mom Goofy came to me unsure, quiet, and carrying a lot of hesitation - after all, he’s been a shelter dog since May. Within days, I watched him start to believe in himself again. He is one of those rare souls who tries so hard to be brave, even when the world feels big. And when he finally decides you’re safe? His whole body softens, his tail starts wagging, and he melts into you with a kind of gratitude you can feel. He’s wonderfully behaved in the house: fully house trained, crate trained, and happiest curled up in a blanket or laying his head on your lap. He adores his stuffies — especially his little cow, which he looks for every night before tucking himself into bed. It’s impossible to watch him proudly carrying that cow without smiling. Goofy loves a quick round of ball, a gentle walk, and being near his person. He rides beautifully in the car, does great on walks, and never says no to a treat. At his core, he is a snuggler — a sweet, sensitive boy who just wants to belong again. He can be unsure with new people at first, but he warms beautifully with patience, calm energy, and a few tossed treats. Once he chooses you, he loves you with a deep, sincere loyalty that’s impossible not to fall for. He’s thoughtful, gentle, and simply needs someone who will meet him where he is and celebrate how far he’s come. Watching him rebuild his confidence has been one of the most special parts of fostering him. He isn’t a “project dog.” He is a good dog who just needed a soft place to land — and he’s ready for a forever home that gives him the gentleness, steadiness, and love he’s been missing. If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you, who will try his hardest every single day, and who will meet you with quiet companionship and a tender heart… Goofy is ready. He deserves the next chapter of his life to be the best. With love, Goofy’s Foster Mom 🤍

• Name: Coco• Male or female? Female (Spayed)• Approximate Age: 4.5 years• Breed: American Staffordshire terrier mix• Weight: 64• Any impairments: No• Potty trained? Yes• Crate trained? Yes• Good with other dogs? No, she needs to be the only dog in the home.• Good with cats? No• Good with kids? Yes• Commands known: Sit, Stay, Shake, Let’s Go• Needs fenced in yard? Not necessarily.• Need another dog in the home? No• Location: Raymond, OH• Energy level (high/med/low)? Medium• Bio:HISTORY/ABOUT MEBelieve it or not, the spouse of my previous owner wanted to shoot me. Thankfully, someone found out about me and was able to get me surrendered… and I didn’t take me long to forgive the world and decide to love on and trust my foster parents. All I want to do is to be by your side and sit in your lap. If I ever stray from there, it’s because my coonhound nose has me on another trail!FENCING/PLAY/OTHER DOGSMy foster family doesn’t have a fence, so we are using 100’ leads. I’ve learned the length of them so I stop before the lead runs out. I also know when to slow down on my lead when my foster mom yells ‘careful’! I am also ready to chase any small thing I see, so I’m thinking I might be more comfortable in a large fenced yard. I love to play with my tug toy and toss it around with my family! And then I’m happy to rest and chew on my chew toys.I’ve met Huskies and German Shepherds at the dog park and had no issues saying hello. I wasn’t really interested in playing with them because I was too busy checking out all of the new smells! But, I saw a small dog at the dog park once from far away and my foster mom got nervous because I look at the cats in my house the same way. I just want to chase them! PROOF I’M A GOOD PAL:Because of the cats in my house, I have to live in my own separate room. I have not destroyed anything in the house and only play with what I’m supposed to.But, I’m lonely and I just want to be with my humans. Sometimes, my foster mom stays the night with me and I’m truly the greatest cuddler. I either lay across her legs or as close to her as possible.I don’t have a reason to go in a crate, but I do go in very easily and behave, if needed. I’m also great in and out of the car! I go right to the back seat and sit behind my foster mom. I love to have the window cracked to smell all of the smells. If it’s a longer ride, I even lay down for a nap.MEDICAL INFO:My previous owners didn’t have me on regular flea/tick prevention and I ended up getting Lyme Disease. I don’t have any clinical symptoms, am now on monthly flea and tick prevention, and took my course of antibiotics. I should go to the vet every year for a quick blood check to make I’m still healthy, but it hasn’t affected my life at all!I did have a bit of anxiety when I first met my foster family. I’m just the happiest when I’m with my people. I started taking the medication, Fluoxetine, that I easily take once a day tucked in a pill pocket and it’s helped me so much!Just to be on the safe side, my foster mom muzzles me when we go to the vet and I don’t give her any trouble when she puts it on.I love everyone! Sometimes I get a little concerned when someone is on my property that I don’t know, but as soon as they come say hello, they are immediately my new friend.I JUST WANT TO BE LOVED:If my foster family didn’t have so many indoor cats, they said they would love for me to stay here. They say I’m pretty perfect. But, we both know I’d be so much happier if I could be with my family all the time.I really just want to be your best friend.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••~Coco is also looking for a new foster until she finds her forever home~•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••***PLEASE READ*** WE DO NOT RESPOND TO PETFINDER OR EMAIL INQUIRIES.
