Story
We rescued Rex from the Franklin County dog shelter, he is going on 2 years old in January, in a new home we are looking for an experienced dog owner who has plenty of space for him to run around, along with the time to train. Rex is very active and loves to run around, he loves to play tug of war, and LOVES Squeaky toys. He is a heavy chewer and loves bones. He loves to play with dogs his size and loves to wrestle, he gets too excited when around smaller animals and would be best in a house without small animals.

Story
Loki is one of the sweetest most cuddling dogs ever. He is just very very fearful of the world. He gets scared on walks very easily. He doesnt like outside much. Im not sure why either. He has been like that since a puppy. I have tried to help him in the ways that I can but I am just not experienced enough with his breed. When I got him I was lied to about what breeds he was so I got him DNA tested. I love him with all my heart but unfortunately he doesnt get along with my other dog anymore. The only thing Ive ever seen him get aggressive over besides being in a fearful situation is over food. And never with people just my other dog. Loki really needs someone that has no other pets and has the time to help him learn the world is not a place to fear. I love him so much but for my other dogs safety and Lokis own happiness I have to try to find someone better suited for him. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, shake, lay down, and he is muzzle trained.

Story
ABOUT ME: Hi! My name’s Macie, and I’m on a journey to becoming the best house dog ever! I was found as a stray in Merion Village, and even though I was a little scared of the world at first, I’ve made huge progress in learning to trust humans again. Unfortunately, rescues are BURSTING at the seams, and I am currently in boarding, waiting patiently for my furever home. My adoption fee has been reduced to $75.00, as I currently require daily medication while I adjust. I AM GREAT WITH: • Children & cats! • Gentle, non-reactive dogs • Learning commands and leash training (I’m already a pro at sitting at corners!). • Crate training—I’ve got it down! • People who are patient and willing to help me continue learning and growing. I AM STILL WORKING ON: • Trusting new people, especially men—but I warm up quickly with treats! • Building confidence in new situations—I’m trying hard every day! I AM NOT SURE ABOUT YET: • Dogs that are very forward or reactive with me I REQUIRE: • Plenty of exercise, either with a fenced yard or regular walks. • A patient, loving home to help me grow into the amazing dog I know I can be. • Anxiety medications for now, but maybe not furever. MORE ABOUT ME! • I’ve discovered some of my favorite things in life: peanut butter (yum!), ice cubes (aka: Ice COOBIES), playing tug-of-war with my rope toy, soaking up the sun on warm days, and, of course, tasty treats. • I’ve been working hard on my training. I know commands like “sit,” “stay,” “leave it,” and “easy.” On walks, I keep a loose lead and sit politely at every corner or when my handler stops. • Treats are my love language, and I’m always looking to my humans for guidance because I want to be the very best girl I can be! • I’m still learning that humans can be kind and trustworthy. I can be a little nervous around men, but if they have treats, I tend to warm up quickly. Right now, I prefer meeting new people on my level (kneeling, or sitting down), but I’m building my confidence every day. • I’m currently on anxiety medicine to help me adjust to this new house dog lifestyle, but I don’t think I’ll need it forever. • A fenced yard would be amazing, but I’d also be happy with plenty of walks and exercise to keep me active and happy! • I am spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on preventatives.

Story
Diamond is a beautiful little girl who has been through a lot of heartache in her young life. She was tied outside to brave the elements 24/7 with a wire tied around her neck. She was taken to a jigh kill Texas shelter and survived death in the euthanasia room not once, but twice. All she wants is to find someone to love and to love her back. To give her the life that she deserves and so desperately longs for. Diamond seems to be a little bit prey driven, probably from living outside her entire life.So a home with no pocket pets, cats or small dogs is probably best. A fenced yard is a plus, but not absolutely necessary. She is great on a leash and really enjoys walks. This little sweetheart is UTD on vaccines, Spayed, de wormed, flea treated, heart worm tested( negative) and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Diamond, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.

Meet Zima! Zima came to us as a stray, and we are still getting to know her. What we can tell you so far is that she is pretty laid back and easy going lady. Though she can be a little reserved with strangers at first, it doesn't take long to get in Zima's good graces! Zima appears to be potty trained, and so far is a very mild mannered couch potato type of girl. Zima has done well with other dogs. If you have other animals in your home we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Zima home. If you are interested in meeting Zima, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Bean is a sweet boy. He is just over 50 lbs and should not get any bigger.  We are guessing him to be between 1-2 yrs old.  He keeps his kennel area clean and may already be partially housetrained.  He loves attention and is playful.  He walks fairly well on leash. He reacts fine to other dogs but should meet any new potential housemate(s). We do not know how he is around children or cats.  Anyone interested in him can stop in during our regular business hours to meet him and apply. Dogs do not go home the same day as meeting--we review applications first.    Please go out to our Facebook page and like it for daily/weekly updates.    Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Story
In need of someone to adopt our dog Ronan he is a pitbull black lab mix. He is 6 years old and isn’t neutered. The good is he a sweet loveable dog that does good with other dogs the bad is he isn’t good well with only female authority, he needs a male around, and doesn’t do good with kids or cats either, so he would be perfect for a single guy. We just want him to go to a good home and to someone who will love him we can provide his kennel, collar and food bowls.

These pups are in Columbus, Ohio too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief Description: This is "Pudge." What you see is what you get...easy going, calm, well...lazy. :) Likes: Being a couch potato, chewing on Nylabones, eating, sleeping...he's a guy with simple pleasures. Dislikes: Having is nails clipped. Having to wait more than 30 seconds for his food when it's being prepared. Personality: Calm. Chill. Quiet (except when food is being prepared for him). Can be stubborn! Temperament: Laid back. Not much upsets or excites Pudge. Energy level: None. Favorite activities: EATING! Watching TV on the couch with his human while he chews a bone. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Cats: unknown; Dogs: great - no issues; Kids: unknown but suspect he would be absolutely fine. Haven't found anything so far Pudge isn't good with. He doesn't particularly care to have his nails clipped or baths but he tolerates both. House trained: Working on it and making good progress. It is uncertain where Pudge came from and/or if he's ever been house trained so, therefore, he was started from scratch and he's come a long way. With a consistent schedule and time to adjust he should do well. Crate trained: YES! Pudge loves his crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence?): No. Walks well on a leash?: When he wants to. Pudge doesn't pull or fight. He just won't walk with his human if it's not where he wants to go. Been working on that and he's doing much better. Challenges: Getting him to socialize more with people and pets. Pudge mostly keeps to himself. He is starting to make attempts to play with the other dogs and humans here and there but needs encouragement. Pudge will need lots of encouragement to get any exercise. Any medical issues?:  Pudge is currently being treated for a persistent skin infection secondary to suspected allergies. He is much improved from when he first arrived. Pudge has recovered well from recent bilateral entropion. Eye irritation and drainage is markedly decreased since the surgery. Pudge has been on a long-term antibiotic treatment and, as a result, he has been having persistent soft stools, however, it's been controlled with feeding Science Diet I/D food and Pepto-Bismol. What would be the best kind of home?:  Pudge would be perfectly happy to be an only dog getting all the attention lavished upon him; however, he is also fine with the other dogs in the household. Pudge is ideal for someone who wants a calm, easy going companion. He is not a hiking, running, or hunting dog by any means.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. Story
Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited or wants something (we now know that comes from the Boxer in her). Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs around 75 pounds. Gypsy has been with us for 3 years, and we don't know why she has not been adopted yet. She is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog we have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with older children. Gypsy is smart and might benefit from more obedience training from someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is a sweet dog. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy must be in the house as a loved family member. She must be walked on a leash and have a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. To emphasize...although Gypsy generally gets along with all dogs (she currently lives in a home with 14 other dogs both large and small and there are no problems), She either needs to be the only dog in the house or only paired with one other large male dog. Gypsy has been with the rescue for 3 years and a change will be scary. She needs an experienced adopter who is patient understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to get comfortable in a new home. She is a great dog for a single person or couple. Any children should be over 10 years of age. Gypsy spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. She is now heartworm-free and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to several scheduled stops in Ohio - including but not limited to - Columbus, Cincinnati, and Akron OH Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting this very good girl. Story
Meet Goldie! Goldie is 1-2 year old Boxer mix who was found roaming the streets in Columbus. Luckily, she found a wonderful family to take her in and reached out to PetPromise to help find her forever family. Goldie loves to play with other dogs, toys and cuddle. She is learning to love crate time and is currently working on house training. She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She quickly learned how to “sit” and we have no doubt she can learn many more tricks. She would do well in an active home with another active dog to play with. She is working on potty training and doing well with consistent positive reinforcement. She is very treat motivated and learning very quickly. She has already mastered sit! Goldie is also working on her crate training. She is doing excellent and is great with other dogs! She will ready for obedience classes when she is adopted. We HIGHLY encourage obedience/behavior training for all of our pups once adopted into their forever homes. If you live an active lifestyle and are ready to bring this adorable girl into you home, please apply to meet her at PetPromise.org Please fill out an adoption application at PetPromise.org We only adopt out in Columbus, Ohio area only. Adoption fee is $400
