Story
Dip is a fun-loving, affectionate girl who’s ready for her forever home. It won’t take much to make her happy, just the basics.— food and water with an occasional Frosty Paws or Honey Hut run— a comfy place to sleep (your couch will be just fine) — daily exercise to reach her goal of 10,000 steps a day as recommended by the CDC (a kiddie pool is a plus)— a best friend to hang out with and remind her what a good girl she is — a car and chauffeur who doesn’t mind having a 60+ pound lap dog as a passenger!— would prefer a home without cats or kids

Story
My wife and I have had the pleasure of owning Stella for over five years. We adopted her from a shelter when she was a young dog, roughly 6 months - one year. She is the sweetest pup. We planned on Stella staying with us for as long as she walked the earth, raising a family with her. That said, it has proved challenging over the past two years to give her the life she deserves while simultaneously raising a family. We have a two year old daughter and another child on the way. Due to Stella’s size, strength, and speed, we act with significant precaution to have our toddler walking around her. Stella has unintentionally knocked her over numerous times. This forces us to crate Stella often when our daughter is out and about, and we know this will only increase (as will our anxiety) as we bring another young one into the world. This is why we are looking to rehome her. Stella is extremely loyal, loving (she is the biggest snuggler), eager to please, and a lover of people.

Story
Marnie has been in our care for 2 1/2 years now – making her our longest resident. While she has been in a foster home off and on over the last 2 years, she really needs a home of her own. Despite her sweet nature and playful spirit, Marnie has been continuously overlooked by potential adopters. Within the shelter's confines, Marnie's demeanor is one of fear and anxiety, a stark contrast to the vibrant spirit she embodies when outside. The open space allows her to revel in the joy of running through the yard. Currently in foster care, Marnie is finally experiencing the love and care she deserves. Marnie currently resides with a female dog and 2 cats. Her foster dad frequently takes her to the dog park, providing her with socialization and playtime that she cherishes. However, at this time we are recommending that Marnie go to a home with no other dogs. While Marnie may require some time to warm up to new faces, her affection knows no bounds once trust is established. Known for her penchant for giving kisses (I mean, look at that tongue!), Marnie is a devoted companion who craves human connection. However, due to her exuberant energy levels, households with small children may not be the best match for her. A fenced-in yard is essential for Marnie to release her boundless energy. Once Marnie has released her energy, she transforms into the most affectionate cuddle buddy, cherishing moments of closeness with her beloved humans. Let's spread the word and help Marnie find her forever home filled with warmth and understanding. Message us on Facebook or email us at euclidpetpals2@yahoo.com to schedule a meet and greet. All household members, including any dogs living in the home, must be present for the meet and greet!

Story
Hey there, fabulous humans! It's your gal, Bernadette, but you can call me Bern or even Freckles – I've got more nicknames than treats in a jar, and I love 'em all, especially when they come with compliments about my stunning looks. So, here's the scoop: I strutted into this shelter a few moons ago after being found at a local park. The guess is I was dumped there, but hey, no hard feelings – I'm ready for a fresh start! Now, let me tell you, when I first landed here, I was a bundle of nerves. Can you blame me? New place, new faces, but thanks to some awesome volunteers, I improve everyday. They discovered my love for a sprawling yard, I definitely need a fenced in yard, because this gal needs space to run, zoom around, and soak up the glorious sunshine. Snow, you say? Bring it on! I've got a feeling I'll be a snowflake-catching extraordinaire. Sure, I'm on the high-energy side, and yeah, I might flex those muscles a bit, but give me a few minutes, and I remember my leash manners. I'm thinking an active, young-at-heart household (no super young children) is my jam – you know, where the adventures never stop. Now, I do have a tiny confession: I'm a bit picky with my canine companions, so I'm dreaming of a forever home where I'm the solo pet, soaking up all the love. I'm 2-3 years young, and I've got a lot to learn, but I'm a quick study. I need someone who speaks dog and can help me polish my manners. Once the zoomies are out of my system, I transform into a cuddle connoisseur. Picture this: me snuggled up next to you, enjoying the cozy vibes, maybe with a peanut butter licky mat in paw – perfection! I'm ready to ditch the shelter life and move into my own fabulous forever home. Are you the awesome human who'll make my dreams come true? Let's make it happen! If you are interested in Bernadette, send us a message!

This beautiful 2 year old brindle beauty is Violet! Violet is a 2 year old pittie and is full grown at 60 lbs. Violet has such a beautiful soul! She's a very shy girl, but once you spend some time with her and get that first tail wag, your heart will just melt. Violet recently went to the vet and did great at her appointment! It was her first time going to the vet ever, because in her past life she was used for breeding and never got medical done. Violet was quiet and stoic getting all of her shots and even her heartworm test done which was negative. Good job, Violet! Violet recently moved into a foster home where is is doing great! She is learning all of the good things about living in a loving home for the first time. She can't wait to find a forever family who will give her the happy ever after that she deserves. Story
Who is my BEST dog available...? Depends what you mean by "best". If I had to choose though, it would be Betsy Ross. Hands down. Betsy is our second longest resident (Tilly being the longest) who also came from South Carolina pending euthanization. She's our pack leader in our home and her role here is to help keep other dogs in order. Betsy gives solid corrections, though, still need to be monitored as not all dogs respond well. If there's another dog in the home that likes to play "Chief", I will not let them socialize or have limited contact depending on a few things. For example, they can only be inside the house together. Not outside. I've had a few of those. Has a very low-key personality where I could be doing 20 million things that day, and she'll be quietly nearby - being patient. Betsy is forgiving and very loyal. Other people could be petting her but she'll keep her eyes on me like; "They might be petting me, but you're still my number one." Perhaps it could be a little off putting for some adopters since they want her attention, but you could earn this perfect, loyal pooch all for yourself. While she might not be overly affectionate, Betsy gives big smiles and tap dances everytime you come home. It's the greatest thing to come home to because you truly feel missed and appreciated. She's middle-aged but not ready for retirement and does enjoy walks while being good with the leash. But, she's perfectly content just staying home, too. This makes her very flexible for many levels of activity in homes. Her training is great. She's a great listener, goes in her crate when asked or when she knows it's time (meals), doesn't destroy the house, and keeps potty outside. If I have to correct her, she responds well. Think her only true downfall is she gets overstimulated with going outside and the overdrive makes her reactive to certain things. But, inside, she couldn't care less. So, with that, listening isn't as strong but we communicate with touch and she does well with that. Like helping her snap back to reality. Overall, Betsy is a super easy dog where it's kind of like when you want a furry companion minus half the work. You'll still have to make sure you establish boundaries ESPECIALLY if you have other animals in the home. Make sure she knows who's leader in the home and don't let her take over because that's when dogs start becoming a menace. Do I think Betsy could turn problematic? Yes. Like most dogs in an unstructured home. But, Betsy is pretty easy going and compliant. She isn't a rebel... except when she isn't ready to get up in the morning. It's like dragging dead weight off a bed. Betsy is due to retire as our pack leader and would love to see her go into a good home soon. She's flexible with the environment. Perhaps a retired person, or someone with kids. Other dogs in the home are fine but would do best with laid-back companions. Slow introductions are a MUST. She needs about 3 -days with new dogs which is not uncommon. All dogs should be introduced slowly. Update: Check out the new photo of Millie looking out the window ;-) She is looking for a forever home! Millie's foster said she is the perfect house dog and companion, including the best travel buddy-Millie loves road trips in the car!;-) Update: I passed my dog evaluation with flying colors and made 5 new dog friends! Hi .... I'm Miss Millie. I'm so grateful for Love-A-Stray because I was abandoned at Miller Road Park in Avon Lake, the ACO found me wrapped in a blanket;-(. I was taken to the Avon Lake Animal Clinic and after no one claimed me, I was turned over to Love-A-Stray. LAS had me vaccinated and I tested negative for HW. I received 2 medicated baths, ear meds and skin meds. I was underweight, but now I gained 6 lbs and I weigh 57 pounds. Dr Krupka said I'm 7 or 8 years old and my teeth look fantastic. I had some skin issues that are clearing up and I'm looking really GOOD! I'm in a great new foster home and my foster said I'm the perfect house dog!! I walk well on lead and I'm just a very sweet doggy! I would like a cat-less home. If you are interested in me, please submit an online application, so my friends at Love-A-Stray can determine if you are a good match. If you have questions, please email info@loveastraydog.com. LAS does not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. My adoption fee is $ 50.00. If you can't foster or adopt me, please consider donating for my care. Story
Urgent! Meet Ruby Roo!! Ruby Roo is searching for a new TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME due to her current caretakers work schedule, while she waits for the perfect forever home!! Ruby Roo has some old ripped up toys from all the dogs she loves to carry around, as shown in photo. She is a young pitty weighing about 70 lbs and she is a sweetheart. Ruby is a little shy when meeting new people but after just a little bit of time and patience she warms up, especially for a treat! Ruby Roo is house trained, crate trained, knows her basic commands...she is smart and learns fast. Ruby is fully vaccinated and spayed. Ruby Roo was found running loose, no collar or microchip. A great family took her in to keep her safe and reported finding her to all the required agencies, but no one was looking for this sweet girl ;-(. They contacted Love-A-Stray to help find her a forever home. She has the funniest way of laying with her paws tucked under, as shown in photo, maybe she is praying for her new home! Ruby would do best with a male dog friend or as the only dog. Her current foster has older dogs and Ruby Roo has the typical energy of a young dog, so she is looking for a new foster or home where she can run and play. Ruby would love a fenced yard but is it not required. She has lots of energy and at 70 pounds could knock a toddler down, so we are looking for an active home with children over the age of 10 years old. If you are interested in Ruby Roo please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Ruby Roo would be a perfect match for you and your family. We are looking for adoption within a 100 mile radius of Avon Lake Ohio, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $100.00. If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Ruby Roo, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Cubby is curious, cuddly, and cute. This young, strapping pup has been described as a great mix of active but chill. He enjoys his play time, and will happily romp and leap after toys in the yard. Or he`ll merrily join you for a meandering adventure walk, leading with his nose. But he`s also nicely attentive to his person. He listens well and you can tell he has a bright mind that`s just waiting for the chance to shine outside the kennel. Cubby also prefers to take plenty of breaks for pets and cuddles. He`ll lean right in to encourage you - or he might hop invitingly up on the bench (or couch) and wait for you to join him. Cubby loves other dogs and seems like he`ll be good with cats too! Cubby is estimated to be around 2 and a half years old and weighs 52 lbs. Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet! Or email his foster david.ager@gmail.com !
