Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old, 49 Lb American Staffordshire Terrier This dog is not part of CrisisDogsNC.  This is a courtesy posting on behalf of Ben with Haven Dog Training.  If you are interested in finding out more, email him directly at email ben@havendogtraining.com  Meet Bonnie. When it comes to homing dogs a sob story sells (and boy does she have one) however, I want someone to adopt her because they want a great dog and not because they want to get a dog on an emotional impulse or to brag about her back story. For anyone I interview as a potential home I will tell you everything I know about her.    Bonnie is energetic, smart, and incredibly sweet. For the right dog person she even has sport dog potential. She was intitially unsure around large men but now will warm up to anyone. She also loves playing with my personal dogs. She’s my ideal pet dog-has a good burst of energy and then will happily sleep the rest of the day away.    Bonnie is crate, house, and leash trained. I want her to go to a home that will incorporate training into their life with her, crate her when leaving her home, and shower her with love. I have taken her on as my personal project and so she is available directly through me. I am in no rush to get rid of her. I am willing to wait for the perfect home. Ideally I want her to go to someone in/around the triangle so I can do a follow up lesson as well as be a resource for life. I also offer boarding to dogs that have been through one of my programs. While she’s been just fine with other dogs as well as an indoor pet rabbit I think she’d thrive as an only dog-she literally cannot get enough love.    If you’re interested in applying to be Bonnie’s new home then email ben@havendogtraining.com with your name, number, and location as well as why you would like to adopt her and I’ll get back to you from there. If you aren’t looking for a new dog but see this-sharing it would be a huge help. The more people that share her,  the more likely she’ll find the perfect home nearby.      November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Montana is a 2-year-old, 59lbs tricolor American Staffy mix. Montana had a rough start but that hasn't affected his mood. He's sweet to everyone he meets, he's housebroken, and leash trained already. He would love to find a family who can help him get out all his energy and wiggles and take him on walks or play in the yard! He would do best in a home with a more seasoned dog parent(s) as he would love to work on his training, and with his smarts, he will soak it all up! Because he's such a loveable, exuberant boy, he would also do best in a home with older kids that don't mind his energy and love of life! He is a strong boy and when he's excited, he does his little "happy-feet dance" which can sometimes get pretty extravagant depending on how exciting things get for him! Montana also loves to greet the UPS delivery person with his cute hops from behind the fence. Sometimes he gets lucky and gets a pat on the head, and that's just about the best thing in the world for this social butterfly! One of Montana's special skills is herding. He wants to make sure everyone is in the "right" place and might even grab onto your shirt and show you where to go. It's totally adorable but may not go over well with smaller children. He is fully vetted, and ready for a family of his own. Could this sweet goofball be your next best friend? He sure hopes so! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Maximo is 5 years old, home-trained, very much a couch potato that wants belly rubs consistently. He does well with other dogs but needs time to adjust to them, due to being attacked a couple of times as a puppy. Maximo was a rescue at first, he was found in the woods with his siblings and I ended up keeping him for a bit. I put him through training and have tried training him myself but I am minimal on time due to my job and various hours. I went through a divorce a few years back and it has been tough giving him and my other dog as much attention necessary. It breaks my heart leaving them home 10+ hours a day, by the time I'm back its late. At this point I think it is best to find him a home that would give him the attention he needs and deserves.

Story
Midas is a Velcro pup that absolutely loves running and being around his person/people. I originally got him at FAPS in 2022 after retiring and it was amazing! Since rejoining the workforce last year and being in a condo, Midas has not been doing as well. He's very anxious and on medication which calms him, but I know that in the right home, he probably wouldn't need to be on them. I'm looking for a home that has a better, more consistent schedule, and hopefully a yard! He's a very happy and energetic almost 5 year old (in March) boy, but also very snuggly and sweet.

Story
Seeking to re home our Staffy. Our family adopted King from a local shelter. He is a year old and will be 2 in December. King needs an assertive owner and will thrive in a single dog household. He does well with children and people. My youngest is 6. Of course, interactions should always be supervised. King does not interact well with some male dogs. He interacts with female dogs fine. Our family is currently working with him and a dog trainer. Not sure about cats as we’ve never had any. He was very curious when we took in a lost cat for a few hours while we found its owners. He is high energy, very loving, affectionate, playful and wants to please. He is house trained, crate trained, follows commands, microchipped, and walks well. His crate, muzzle and e collar will be included. Everything we've bought for his training. King is UTD on all vaccinations and rabies.

Story
Phoebe is a 4-month-old, 15lb Bull Terrier mix. Phoebe is going to give you the ultimate puppy experience, with her playful nature and loving demeanor. She is a smart girl and is almost fully housebroken and still needs some work learning how to be on a leash, but with how quick she's picking up other good habits she'll learn that in no time with some consistency and training. Phoebe gets along with everyone she meets and would love a family of her own and does great with kids! Due to her breed and energy level, Phoebe would do best in a home where she can either have a yard to run around in or someone who will be able to take her for consistent walks. If Phoebe the puppy seems like the perfect fit for your family, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. Prue still needs some work learning how to be on a leash, but with how quick she's picking up other good habits she'll learn that in no time with some consistency and training.
