Story
I was brought in to Colonial Capital Humane Society as an owner surrender. My family did not have time for me so they kept me outside. The shelter life is stressful so it’s hard let my true personality shine. I am considered dog selective because it takes me a minute warm up to other dogs. I prefer a slow introduction but I wouldn't mind being a single-dog companion either! I am kid and cat friendly! Please visit our website, www.colonialcapitalhs.org to fill out an application today!

Story
Meet this cutie named Cali! She and her brother Maximus were surrendered over to Animal Control by their owner June 6, 2023. Cali seems in much better shape than her sweet brother. She has a shinny coat of fur and is a good sized girl with a big heart full of love to share. She is 4 years old, current on shots, now spayed, and appears to of had at least a litter or 2. Though no worries about that ever again. She loves going in the the play yards to walk around and sniff, sniff, sniff, & sniff a little more. Just a happy go lucky girl who deserves to have her very own loving FOREVER home to call her own. Settling in nicely and hoping her stay isn’t too long. Maybe you have the most amazing FOREVER home for sweet Cali?! Visit with her today and give her a fabulous life! If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home. In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.

Story
Toby is such a sweet and affectionate older gentleman who is full of love and energy despite his age. He is very curious and loves to explore and sniff around, and he is very affectionate and loves to give kisses and be close to his favorite people. Unfortunately Toby would prefer a home without young children. He is very loyal and will be your best friend forever and he is also very funny and always up for a good time or a snuggle session. Toby is a very handsome sweet boy who is 7 years old and fully vetted. He came to the shelter on July 18, 2023 and is excited to meet his new person or family very soon. He loves pup cups and string cheese, and is a volunteer favorite. If you think Toby would be a good fit for your family, please come and meet him today! Story
Meet BoBo, a 3 year old male dog with lots of love to give! While we don't know if he gets along with other dogs, he is super friendly with humans and loves giving kisses once he knows you. He came into the shelter May 13, 2024 when his owner.could no longer keep him. He came in scared, unsure of shelter life, which all is very common but with time and love from volunteers and staff he is settling in better daily. Bobo is 3 years old, current on shots, now neutered, and ready to meet his new person or family. He hopes his stay will be short. You may be the reason for his short stay, Bobo is ready to find his forever home with a loving family. If you're interested in adopting him, please come to the shelter today to meet him!" Remember he’s settling in right now and a little shy. If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting.
