Story
Hi there! My name is Mommaccino, and I am a friendly, affectionate, brave, curious, independent, smart, playful and athletic dog. I am also great with children and other dogs! I am an adult, but you would never know it because I have the energy of a puppy and the soul of a wise old dog. I love to play and explore, but I also love to cuddle up with my humans. They're teaching me how to be a good house dog and learn some basic commands. I had a rough time until a Good Samaritan found me with my pup, Pupaccino, and asked JCAPL to help us find furever homes. But that's okay because it has only made me stronger and more appreciative of the good things in life. Now my pup has gone to her new home. If you give me the chance, I promise to be your very best friend and bring you endless amounts of joy. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner’s White Oak Shopping Center. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. Thanks for thinking adoption!

Story
Hello! My name is Gucci, and I am an affectionate, playful, and curious dog. I love to run around and explore, and I would make a great companion for anyone who loves the outdoors and going on adventures. I am very athletic, and I love to play with toys indoors and outside. I'm also happy to cuddle up and relax with my foster family while they read, or work, or watch tv. I'm fully house trained, and I sleep in my crate every night. My fosters are teaching me some basic commands. Can you imagine what my life was like before I came to JCAPL? I was used as a breeding dog, and then abandoned by my humans. I can't see out of my left eye, and sometimes children and tall humans startle me; but I like them when I get used to them! Even though I have been through a lot, I still love people and get along with other dogs and even cats. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
My name is Carrie. I'm a big girl now at two months old, and I'm excited to find my furever home! I'm a playful puppy, happy and smart. I love to cuddle with kids and grownups, and I have the best time exploring All The New Things, and playing with my toys, my sister, and other dogs! I use a doggy-door at my foster home, and I'm getting better at house-training, sleeping in my pen with my sister, and eating all my food so I'll grow big and strong. My Momma and my sister Kelly (pictured) are also looking for their furever homes, so if you know anyone who might want to adopt them, please send them our way! If you're looking for a fun-loving, sweet, and adventurous companion, look no further than your girl Carrie! * Please note Carrie's Momma is shown in the last photo--and her father is unknown. Carrie will be spayed by our vet when age-appropriate, which is included in the adoption fee. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
Capone has been to the vet and he is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention. Capone was never socialized with the world around him or any other dogs but Dolly. He didn't show aggression when he met a stranger dog, just fear. He cannot live with small animals. Capone met Sprinkles yesterday!!! We have taken decompression very slowly with Capone because he had so much loss and change so quickly. Yesterday Capone got to meet one of the resident hound girls and they did perfect! This amazing boy deserves a family of his own, even a foster home (he is in a temporary foster home)! Capone is a chill dog whose favorite thing is human lovin, peanut butter kongs & the hot pink Kong wooba! If interested in meeting this awesome boy please apply at chasintailrescuenc.com

Story
Meet 5 YO 42 lb Brodie! Brodie was adopted out of Lancaster Animal Shelter in 2019 and recently came back there with some small treatable medical issues which have been taken care of. Brodie is a little nervous but easily won over. Brodie wasn't interested in toys in the kennel but wanted to meet all of his neighbors. "He is a very sweet boy, but not used to being given attention. Brodie is now with one of our fosters and is doing well. In notes about him the word we see consistently is FRIENDLY. Please help Brodie find his furever home!
