Story
Moby was my dream dog. I love him to bits. He’s generally polite and well behaved, but his prey instinct is too strong. He chases our cats and has killed several of our chickens, which are our livelihood. Moby is a very sweet boy, and is very gentle with people and children. He’s also quiet, and doesn’t bark or whine. He is full of energy and needs a playmate, whether they have two legs or four. His favorite game is chase & tug. He’s very smart, and he picks up tricks and commands easily if he knows he’s got treats coming. He does have a tendency to use his brains for mischief though. If he gets bored, he will find entertainment that might not thrill you. Moby is also very good in a kennel. He’ll even put himself away if you show him food. When I first got him, he was an awful leash puller but we’ve been working on it, and his manners have improved a lot. He has a lot of potential with some strong guidance.

Story
Bonnie is a 2 year old, 49 Lb American Staffordshire Terrier This dog is not part of CrisisDogsNC.  This is a courtesy posting on behalf of Ben with Haven Dog Training.  If you are interested in finding out more, email him directly at email ben@havendogtraining.com  Meet Bonnie. When it comes to homing dogs a sob story sells (and boy does she have one) however, I want someone to adopt her because they want a great dog and not because they want to get a dog on an emotional impulse or to brag about her back story. For anyone I interview as a potential home I will tell you everything I know about her.    Bonnie is energetic, smart, and incredibly sweet. For the right dog person she even has sport dog potential. She was intitially unsure around large men but now will warm up to anyone. She also loves playing with my personal dogs. She’s my ideal pet dog-has a good burst of energy and then will happily sleep the rest of the day away.    Bonnie is crate, house, and leash trained. I want her to go to a home that will incorporate training into their life with her, crate her when leaving her home, and shower her with love. I have taken her on as my personal project and so she is available directly through me. I am in no rush to get rid of her. I am willing to wait for the perfect home. Ideally I want her to go to someone in/around the triangle so I can do a follow up lesson as well as be a resource for life. I also offer boarding to dogs that have been through one of my programs. While she’s been just fine with other dogs as well as an indoor pet rabbit I think she’d thrive as an only dog-she literally cannot get enough love.    If you’re interested in applying to be Bonnie’s new home then email ben@havendogtraining.com with your name, number, and location as well as why you would like to adopt her and I’ll get back to you from there. If you aren’t looking for a new dog but see this-sharing it would be a huge help. The more people that share her,  the more likely she’ll find the perfect home nearby.      November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Montana is a 2-year-old, 59lbs tricolor American Staffy mix. Montana had a rough start but that hasn't affected his mood. He's sweet to everyone he meets, he's housebroken, and leash trained already. He would love to find a family who can help him get out all his energy and wiggles and take him on walks or play in the yard! He would do best in a home with a more seasoned dog parent(s) as he would love to work on his training, and with his smarts, he will soak it all up! Because he's such a loveable, exuberant boy, he would also do best in a home with older kids that don't mind his energy and love of life! He is a strong boy and when he's excited, he does his little "happy-feet dance" which can sometimes get pretty extravagant depending on how exciting things get for him! Montana also loves to greet the UPS delivery person with his cute hops from behind the fence. Sometimes he gets lucky and gets a pat on the head, and that's just about the best thing in the world for this social butterfly! One of Montana's special skills is herding. He wants to make sure everyone is in the "right" place and might even grab onto your shirt and show you where to go. It's totally adorable but may not go over well with smaller children. He is fully vetted, and ready for a family of his own. Could this sweet goofball be your next best friend? He sure hopes so! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › **Please read the full bio for Cooper ** Meet Cooper. Isn't he handsome? The pictures are great but honestly don't do him justice of just how handsome he is. He is ~63 pounds of smushy gray fur with white markings. He has the cutest little underbite. Cooper is looking for his forever home - one who is dedicated to just Cooper as he needs to be the only pet in the home. He is a smart boy - he knows sit, leave it, lay down, recall, & stay! He is a strong boy & needs an experienced handler that will continue to work on his manners & leash skills. In his original home, Cooper lived with 10 & 12 year-old boys from the time he was 8 weeks old until he was 11 months old & he loved them very much. He is equal parts active AND chill - he likes to lie down on his bed with a bone or yummy peanut butter & treat-filled KONG as much as he enjoys doing the zoomies in the yard. Playing fetch is his favorite pastime - tennis balls are a must in the new home. When he is done, he’s ready to lounge & is happy to hang out with you or by himself. A DNA test was done which says he is a mixture of Labrador Retriever, American Staffordshire Terrier, hound, & Chinese Shar Pei.   Cooper was adopted when he was a young puppy & was very loved. He was adopted into a home with a 2 year-old dog who was also a Pawfect Match dog. She loved him as a puppy, but started to indicate that she no longer wanted another dog in her home. They both had high energy play styles & a few play sessions escalated & were difficult to break up, with neither dog relenting. Cooper didn't take kindly to being told no by her & continued to assert himself. She then didn't take kindly to being ignored. It caused a stressful situation for both dogs. Because of this, it was decided Cooper needed to be the only pet in a furever home so was returned to the rescue. ***Cooper is the 'pawfect' match for a household with no other pets - an adopter looking for a wonderful, smart, handsome dog with so much to offer is who will be his pawfect match. Cooper needs a home with a true FENCED yard so that he can burn off energy & play fetch without the ability to get into trouble. Cooper is not going to be a candidate for a dog park or doggie daycare. Cooper received a good deal of training prior to returning but he will need an adopter who will commit to ongoing training & whatever he needs. Could YOU be that 'pawfect' match? Could you be the furever home for Cooper? You can apply to adopt our dogs at: https://www.pawfectmatch.org/info/adoption Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 19, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello, my name is Pudge! I am a spunky silly boy that just can’t get enough attention. I love my people and my foster sister! We love to play, run and chew on treats. I can be somewhat timid around people because I’m still not sure about them. Once I get attached to you, I'm your best friend and you are mine. I like being pet but I really love to play and to run! I’d love to be with someone who likes to play a lot and then snuggle up for a nap. Like any puppy, I do get into things I'm not supposed to. I'm learning what I can chew and what I shouldn't chew. I am pretty good with my housetraining, but due to my age still have occasional accidents. I do have one weird quirk. I only like to poop outside at night! I will go when I am running around outside but prefer the cover of the dark sky. Maybe my name should be Batman!  I'm already neutered and up to date on on vaccinations. I do need a home with another dog.
