Story
Welcome to sweet TinkerBelle!  This little bundle of wiggles and joy was rescued from a Louisiana shelter where she spent 6 months in isolation, never getting out of her kennel.  She was so excited to get out of that horrible shelter and start living the good life!  Tink is estimated to be a 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, and she currently weighs about 48 pounds.  She is dog social and would love a another dog to play with.  Tink is on the submissive side and seems to respond well to another dog's corrections.  Tink does well with children who respect her boundaries.  She enjoys her treats and takes them gently.  She has been sleeping in a crate at night and does well with that.  She is potty trained and is doing pretty well walking on leash.  The foster is working with her on not getting excited when she sees another dog. Tink is just the sweetest thing you'll ever meet and all she wants is love and attention.  Let's find the perfect home to give that to her!  TinkerBelle's adoption fee is $400 which goes towards spaying at out vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and transportation fees. ##2248643##

Story
Meet adorable Ally!  Ally is beleived to be a Pit/Bulldog mix who is estimated to be between 9 to 12 months old and only weighs about 40 pounds.  Ally was left abandoned in an apartment.  She was found by the landlord in pretty rough shape.  He took her home and got her healthy again, but he knew he couldn't provide what she needs.  Ally is an absolute sweetheart!  She loves everyone she meets!  She was living for about 2 months with children, ages 11 & 9, and was great with them.  She has been really good with a 2.5 year old that is at the foster's house 3 days a week.  She just loves kids, but due to her puppy energy she can be a little jumpy!  Some of Ally's favorite things are playing with her foster canine sisters, chasing a ball in the yard, chewing on a hard bone, and snuggling with her humans.  She is walking really well on leash and enjoys her walks.  Although Ally loves playing with other dogs, she plays rough and she is still learning cues from them.  She has never shown any aggression, but doesn't always understand when the other dog is done.  Ally is fully potty trained.  She has some energy that needs to be burned off by walking, running and playing.  She is very fast and she loves running freely outside!  Ally would do best in a home where someone is home a lot as she has a fear of being abondoned and likes her humans close.  At this time, she really doesn't like being in a crate, so that is slowly being worked on.  She is making steps in the right direction for both the crate and being left alone.  IT HAS BEEN DISCOVERED THAT ALLY IS HEARING IMPAIRED, IF NOT COMPLETELY DEAF.  DUE TO THIS SHE WILL NEED A PYSICALLY FENCED YARD.  SHE IS BEGINNING TO LEARN SOME HAND SIGNALS AND IS RESPONDING WELL TO THEM.  She has learned sit, lay down and stay and come using hand signals.  She is very treat motivated, so this makes training easier.  This little girl is just a love bug and will bring a smile to your face!  She is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and spayed.  Ally's adoption fee is $450 which goes towards the spaying, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and costs associated with fostering.  If you meet this little girl, you are sure to fall in love! ##2281162##

Story
Panda Bear is a 2 year old gentle giant boy rescued from a Louisiana Shelter since August 2024 that are never let out of their kennel.  He has some skin absesses from lying in his urine which is being treated with antibiotics. Panda Bear does very well with dogs, cats and farm animals.  Gets along well with everyone wagging his tail continuously but prefers not to be jumped on.  He walks very gentle on a leash without pulling and is super smart learning come and kennel.  Unfortunately, Panda is HW positive and will need to have HW treatment in LA.  He will be fully vetted when he arrives in NY and is already neutered.   ##2300196##

Story
Cutie has arrived!  This 8-9 month old American Staffordshire Terrier was found abandoned in the woods, left to fend for herself.  She was found and taken to a shelter.  Seventh Heaven Rescue was contacted to see if we could help. Thankfully a foster came forward and now Cutie is out of the shelter and living in a foster home.  Although Cuite is deaf, it doesn't slow her down.  She has been wonderful with both people and dogs.  She loves running and playing with the resident dog, and she also loves humans.  Cutie is just a happy, playful, wiggly puppy who would make someone very happy.  Don't let her deafness scare you, as deaf dogs can easily be trained with hand signals.  She is currently working with a trainer to better learn commands and focus her energy.  (The trainer will supply information to any adopter.) This super sweet girl deserves a chance!  Because Cutie is a bit of a bull in a China Shop, the rescue is recommending older children.  Cutie's adoption fee is $400 which goes towards spaying at our vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and transportation fees.   ##2154653##

Story
Wilma is being fostered in NJ. Wilma is a wonderful companion and a very sweet lady. She will gently take a piece of kibble or a treat from your hand. She loves treats and biscuits! Wilma also likes back rubs and sitting nearby her person. Walking is another favorite activity, and she will tilt her head to listen to the sounds in the neighborhood. She is a gentle walker, doesn't pull, but will stop to listen. She will respond with a deep bark to other barking dogs. She is not afraid of dogs and does not respond aggressively, but if a dog continues to bark at her, she will also keep barking. Wilma gets along with the cat in her foster home as well as the rabbit. She will sit at the door to indicate she needs to go outside, and will go to her bed to nap or sleep for the night after she has visited outside. She's just a sweetheart who wants to be with her person! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Scooby is our longest resident, and that’s because he is really not meant to be a shelter dog but has a hard time convincing potential adopters of that. He is a sensitive dog who gets concerned about stressful things in his environment. He has come such a long way with his anxiety and nerves with us in the shelter but what he requires is stability and consistency. He was in a temporary foster for two weeks and during that time he showed so much growth as he finally had a chance to settle in as a house pet. After some decompression, we found he wasn’t destructive, played with toys and puzzles, snuggled up on the couch, and even had some nice car rides (with only a little whining). Even in the shelter he is a gentle, friendly boy who follows commands, waits patiently for volunteers to leash him in his kennel, and is easy to walk. Although sometimes he does get spooked and wants to go back inside. What Scooby needs is someone with patience and a willingness to build trust with him once they bring him home and who can work constructively with him on his anxiety needs. We have a trainer who will help the new adopter transition Scooby into his new home. Everyone who knows Scooby, loves him!

Story
Wendell came in as a stray picked up in Baldwinsville and weighs about 45 pounds. He was a little high strung when he first arrived, but we’re happy to say he’s settled in nicely and with training and guidance he’s been gaining confidence every day. So far we’ve learned that Wendell loves treats, although he’s still mindful and gentle when taking them, and loves to play tug and hang out with people he’s familiar with. He still needs a little work on manners but is coming around to be a very sweet and respectful boy. DOG-FRIENDLY

Story
Meet handsome Dash who was was found with his siblings in a cardboard box on the side of the road in cold snowy weather.  They were estimated to be 8-9 week old when they were found and are possibly a Boxer/Shepherd mix.  One of the siblings tested positive for Parvo and has since been treated.  Although Dash received antibodies for Parvo exposure, he did not test positive and has not had any symptoms.  The litter are in a wonderful foster home that was able to keep the siblings together.  He is a typical sweet playful boy who loves to snuggle on your lap.  Dash is working on house training and crate training.  If you are interested in having Dash join your family please put in an adoption application.  The adoption fee goes towards their extensive medical care, foster supplies and will cover neuter.  ##2294889##
