Story
Another local dog abandoned!  Beautiful Rosie is a pit bull mix who is believed to be between 1 and 2 years old.  She was abandoned by her owners at a police station in East Syracuse on 3/19.  Her owners just took off her leash and collar and walked out, without talking to anyone or leaving any information or records.  Rosie deserves better!  Rosie spent the first 3 months in a foster home with teenage boys who doted on her.  She had to be moved in July because the foster had to start traveling for work.  She has been with her second foster with younger children since July. Rosie deserves to have her own forever home.  She is the sweetest dog!  She has loved everyone she has met, including kids!  True to the pittie breed, she loves to snuggle, and sometimes even thinks she's a lap dog!  When she wants to play she is an Olympian ball catcher and retriever.  She also enjoys some sturdy chew toys.  Rosie is potty trained, but may need promts when she moves to a new home.   She has been great alone out of her crate, but is crate trained if needed.  Rosie has some excited energy and may jump because she is so happy to see you!  She has little spurts of energy and then likes to just snuggle up.  Rosie needs to be the only dog in the home.  An ideal home would be one with a country setting and no other pets.  Although Rosie walks well on leash, she is reactive to other dogs, so a home without a lot of dogs around would be best.   She has gone to training and the right person that can continue to work with her may be able to redirect the reactive behavior.  She truly is a lover to her humans, and we just want to find her a happy place (without the stresses of other dogs around) that she can call her own.  Rosie's adoption fee is $275 which goes towards spaying at our vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and costs associated with fostering.  Who will help this sweet girl live the life she deserves?! ##1998028##

Story
Cutie has arrived!  This 8-9 month old American Staffordshire Terrier was found abandoned in the woods, left to fend for herself.  She was found and taken to a shelter.  Seventh Heaven Rescue was contacted to see if we could help. Thankfully a foster came forward and now Cutie is out of the shelter and living in a foster home.  Although Cuite is deaf, it doesn't slow her down.  She has been wonderful with both people and dogs.  She loves running and playing with the resident dog, and she also loves humans.  Cutie is just a happy, playful, wiggly puppy who would make someone very happy.  Don't let her deafness scare you, as deaf dogs can easily be trained with hand signals.  She is currently working with a trainer to better learn commands and focus her energy.  (The trainer will supply information to any adopter.) This super sweet girl deserves a chance!  Because Cutie is a bit of a bull in a China Shop, the rescue is recommending older children.  Cutie's adoption fee is $400 which goes towards spaying at our vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and transportation fees.   ##2154653##

Story
Welcome to sweet TinkerBelle!  This little bundle of wiggles and joy was rescued from a Louisiana shelter where she spent 6 months in isolation, never getting out of her kennel.  She was so excited to get out of that horrible shelter and start living the good life!  Tink is estimated to be a 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, and she currently weighs about 48 pounds.  She is dog social.  Tink does well with children who respect her boundaries.  She will be fully vaccinated and spayed when she arrives to NY, which we are hoping will be sometime in January.  TinkerBelle's adoption fee is $400 which goes towards spaying at out vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and transportation fees. ##2248643##

Story
Sweet Blossom has had some rough patches in her life and deserves a home where whe will be loved and spoiled forever.  Unfortunately, Blossom landed in a rural shelter in Louisiana where the dogs never get outside.  She was living a horrible life and started to shut down.  She stopped eating and had developed sores on her body from living in harsh conditions.  Because of this, Blossom was on the euthanasia list, but Seventh Heaven Rescue was able to pull her from the horrible shelter and get her the care she desperately needed.  Blossom is believed to be a Staffordshire Terrier mix and is estimated to be about 4 year old.   Despite what she has been through, Blossom is s survivor.  She  is now learning that life can be a wonderful thing and she can feel safe.  She is very friendly and gentle.  Although she seems to be good with cats, Blossom does need to be the only dog in the home.   With slow introductions, Blossom should be ok with dog savy kids.  She is also potty trained.  She can be a quiet girl, but can sometimes get a little crazy with the zoomies.  She does not need a fence as long as she gets daily exercise.  We hope someone will open their hearts to the deserving girl!  Blossom will be arriving in NY in late January.  Her adoption fee is $300 which goes towards spaying at our vet, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and transportation fees. ##2183097##

Story
Meet adorable Ally!  Ally is beleived to be a Pit/Boxer mix who is estimated to be between 9 to 12 months old and only weighs about 40 pounds.  Ally was left abandoned in an apartment.  She was found by the landlord in pretty rough shape.  He took her home and got her healthy again, but he knew he couldn't provide what she needs.  Ally is an absolute sweetheart!  She loves everyone she meets!  She was living for about 2 months with children, ages 11 & 9, and was great with them.  Some of Ally's favorite things are playing with a tennis ball, chewing on a hard bone, and snuggling with her humans.  She was never walked on a leash, but is learning quickly and really enjoys her walks.  Ally has met some dogs and really seems to enjoy playing.  She doesn't quite have manners yet when meeting new dogs, as she likes to jump on them, so needs guidance from her humans.  She seems to like to rough house with the other dogs.  Ally is working on learning some basic commands.  She knows how to sit and take treats gently.  She is working on focus, come, lay down and off.  She is very treat motivated so that helps with training.  She is fully potty trained.  Ally would do best in a home where someone is home a lot as she has a fear of being abondoned and likes her humans close.  At this time, she really doesn't like being in a crate, so that is slowly being worked on.  This little girl is just a love bug and will bring a smile to your face!  She is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and just got spayed.  Ally's adoption fee is $450 which goes towards the spaying, vaccines and medical care up to adoption, microchip and costs associated with fostering. ##2281162##

Story
Wilma is being fostered in NJ. Wilma is a wonderful companion and a very sweet lady. She will gently take a piece of kibble or a treat from your hand. She loves treats and biscuits! Wilma also likes back rubs and sitting nearby her person. Walking is another favorite activity, and she will tilt her head to listen to the sounds in the neighborhood. She is a gentle walker, doesn't pull, but will stop to listen. She will respond with a deep bark to other barking dogs. She is not afraid of dogs and does not respond aggressively, but if a dog continues to bark at her, she will also keep barking. Wilma gets along with the cat in her foster home as well as the rabbit. She will sit at the door to indicate she needs to go outside, and will go to her bed to nap or sleep for the night after she has visited outside. She's just a sweetheart who wants to be with her person! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Scooby is our longest resident, and that’s because he is really not meant to be a shelter dog but has a hard time convincing potential adopters of that. He is a sensitive dog who gets concerned about stressful things in his environment. He has come such a long way with his anxiety and nerves with us in the shelter but what he requires is stability and consistency. He was in a temporary foster for two weeks and during that time he showed so much growth as he finally had a chance to settle in as a house pet. After some decompression, we found he wasn’t destructive, played with toys and puzzles, snuggled up on the couch, and even had some nice car rides (with only a little whining). Even in the shelter he is a gentle, friendly boy who follows commands, waits patiently for volunteers to leash him in his kennel, and is easy to walk. Although sometimes he does get spooked and wants to go back inside. What Scooby needs is someone with patience and a willingness to build trust with him once they bring him home and who can work constructively with him on his anxiety needs. We have a trainer who will help the new adopter transition Scooby into his new home. Everyone who knows Scooby, loves him!

Story
Neptune came in to the rescue with his brother Stanley.  Both were extremely under weight and had little to no socialization.  Neptune was inhaling his food, but the foster has slowed him down and this will get better as he realizes he can rely of food being there for him.  Neptune is very cuddly and likes to be with his people.  He is working on potty training.  He plays with toys and is good on leash.  Neptunes continues learning puppy manners and does great with sit, very treat motivated.  He sleeps at night in his crate.  He does whine a little when being left alone in the crate but settles down after 20 minutes or so.  Neptune's adoption fee is $450 which goes toward neutering at our vet, vaccines and medical care up to adopton, and microchip.  He is located in the Syracuse area and available for meets.  ##2156664##
