Story
This is Bear, heartbroken to have to rehome him, he was my dad’s dogs. My dad sadly passed away and now Bear needs a new good home. I can’t take him in or els I would love to. He is such a loving dog and would be a perfect companion for someone looking for a best buddy. He is house trained, loves to cuddle, he has a blast at the dog park and gets along with other dogs. He walks on a leash well but does get anxious, when seeing others, with a little help he will get used to it. He has been in a house with a fenced in yard. He likes to go on hikes but would be also be completely content laying on the couch snuggling. He would probably be best with a dog his size or just him solo at home. Bear is so loving. Hes a little hyper when you come through the door, because he just loves people. Nothing that can’t be recorrected. My dad spoiled him a bit much, but how can you not he a mush. just looking for the right person or family to love him like we do.

Story
***WAYWARD RANCH IS CLOSING AND WE NEED TO REHOME ALL OF THE ANIMALS IN OUR CARE BY JULY 2025!!*** With not one application yet for Badger, we are now URGENTLY looking for a forever home for this incredible boy! This dude is always game for literally anything you want to do. Want to go on a hike for miles and miles? Sign him up! Want to go on a car ride and just drive around for a while? He’s down! Want to teach fun tricks? This dog can learn them all! This goofball is about 2 years old and is so ready to love a family of his own. He's an active guy who loves to play but once he’s had his exercise, he’s the biggest cuddler you could ever imagine! Badger came to us from our local dog warden because he was bouncing off the walls (literally) in the kennel at our local pound, lowering his chances of finding a home. What we realized upon meeting him is this dog is SMART and was simply too bored in the kennel! We sent him to a trainer who taught him all of the basics and he's looking for a family to continue that work! No young kids for Badger because of how rambunctious he can get with someone who doesn’t enforce his boundaries, but he does ADORE kids and would do amazingly with an active family with older kids. He’s done well meeting other dogs while he’s been with us, but he can be a bit of a loudmouth when he plays, which can be overwhelming for other dogs, so he may require multiple meetings if you have another dog. Badger is fully housebroken, crate trained, loves car rides, and honestly we could just keep going about how cool this dog is, but it’s probably best for you to just come meet him and see for yourself! He is neutered, microchipped and fully up to date on his vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting Badger, you can fill out an adoption application for him on our website, waywardranch.org, or reach out if you have any questions about him!

Story
“The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.” There is so much that goes into getting these pups ready for their forever home. Once they receive an application we feel as though we are in the “home stretch” of a happily ever after in the making. When things fall through in the final steps of adoption it can be defeating, especially when the adoptable pup is not given a chance to show their potential. Ghost was all ready for his meet and greet last week, but the potential adopters cancelled on him. While we are sad for Ghost we do believe everything happens for a reason and his forever family is still out there somewhere. At 10 months old Ghost has already been rehomed twice before landing in foster care. He was kicked out due to his size, lack of manners and landlord issues. This can be highly deceiving as Ghost is an awesome boy that just needed a little guidance for his size. He is truly a puppy at heart befriending anyone ans everyone he meets. His skills of leash, house and crate training have been coming along great. This boy loves his crate and will bring in all his toys to keep him company. At 75lbs Ghost was pretty strong on the leash so we switched him over to an easy walker harness that has worked wonders. This highly social, outgoing, affectionate pup would make a great addition to any moderately active family, but remember he is still a puppy so structure and guidance is necessary. He can be very mouthy so a home without young children would be best. If you think you are this boy’s forever family email Jonesm4318@gmail.com today.

Story
Mange is an off putting condition that often will cost a pup their chance at freedom. Potential adopters and fosters are usually hesitant to open up their homes to a pup full of scabs, missing hair, and suffering from skin infections. They certainly aren’t the “prettiest” pups sitting in the shelter, but mange is definitely one of the most treatable conditions found in shelter pups. In a few short weeks Phoebe has went from bald to beautiful. As her fur started to grow back her personality began to grow too. Phoebe likes other pups, and doesn’t seem to be bothered by her feline friends, however humans have her heart. She can be shy around strangers but bonds easily with any human willing to give her a chance. Phoebe is great with crate training, doing well with house training, and still needs work with her learn skills. She prefers comfy couches, warm blankets and human hugs to the frigid cold temps outside. Phoebe is let overly active even though she is only about a year old. If you are looking for an affectionate canine companion Phoebe may just be your girl email jonesm4318@gmail.com today! #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #adoptdontshop #pitbull #rescuedog #transformation #dogrescue #phoebe

Story
Never wanted, never seen Xena is hoping her luck will soon change. It’s sad to think that Xena was born into a world that would immediately reject her. It’s even sadder to know of all the pups in similar situations that never get the opportunity to find a home sweet home. After being born as a stray the shelter was the first place that Xena experienced a roof over her head and consistently being fed. While she was familiar and loved socializing with other pups Xena was skittish with new humans as she wasn’t quite sure what to make of them. After joining a foster this girl was quick to learn the luxuries of life. Xena loves comfy blankets, beds, yummy food and doggy friends. The humans are pretty fun too as they take her for walks and hang out treats. Xena is still learning her basic doggy skills of leash, crate and house training as living in a home environment is all new to her. At just about a year old and we know Xena will stay on the smaller side at about 30lbs. If you think you could give this wonder little lady the happily ever after she never thought she would have email jonesm4318@gmail.com today!

Story
This little lady is seeking out a forever family! Darcey is a young spunky puppy, at 4 months old she was found wandering the streets in her own, but this tough cookie was determined to survive. Now she has her sights set on being a forever pup, and we are sure she is going to do just that. After settling into her foster home Darcey has taken well to routine, consistently and structure which is important for any puppy. She enjoys playing with her canine friends and has been very receptive to their corrections and play style. This petite girl will probably only be 30-40lbs full grown. Darcey is agile and enjoys “working” rather it be learning new tricks, polishing up her obedience or solving doggy puzzles. An ideal family would be one that could build on the training foundation already set forth by her foster family, in addition to a moderate exercise routine. If you think you could be Darcy’s forever family email today!
