Story
Stubbs is a mature, affectionate and obedient good boy who is looking for a loving home. He came to the shelter when his owner passed away and he is so deserving of a loving home that wants a loyal companion. He loves hanging out with you and keeping you company. He`s mellow and easy-going yet alert. He is quiet overall but will alert you if he hears something concerning. He has good manners, listens well, knows sit, comes when called and is housetrained.Stubbs is a great hiking partner and keeps up a good pace for his age. He loves going for walks and rides well in the car. He`s a very manageable size of about 50 lbs in a compact bod. He is in good shape for his age and you would never guess he is 9yo by looking at him. While he has lived with other easy-going dogs, he is just as happy being a solo pet. He does have a high prey/chase drive and is not recommended to be housed with small dogs or cats.Stubbs is a very good boy and is looking for that special home that needs a good buddy to share life with.If you are interested in meeting Stubbs please email awdfoster@cabq.gov

Story
Utah is a shy, gentle youngster who came into the shelter with her buddy, Leo (A1906679). They share a kennel together and make a great pair. They could be adopted together, but they can also go to different homes. Utah is coming out of her shell and enjoys being in the play yard with her favorite volunteers to chase balls and take treats. If you`re looking for a wonderful young dog -- or two! -- come meet Utah and maybe also her pal Leo.

Story
Looking for a gem of a companion? Meet Meg! She’s the perfect partner for all your adventures, whether it’s a trip to the park, a hike in the mountains, or a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood. She loves to run errands to dog-friendly stores. Onyx is not only well-behaved but also has a playful side, and her lower energy levels make her a great fit for any household. This three-year-old beauty came under PACA’s care after being relinquished by her previous owner. Since then, she’s blossomed into a loyal and loving companion. Onyx gets along with kids, adults, and other dogs, and even coexists peacefully with a cat in her foster home. Weighing around 80 pounds, Onyx has a striking coat with tan tips on her black fur and a mix of Pit Bull, Presa Canario, and Caucasian Shepherd in her DNA, making her a truly unique and wonderful dog. Don’t miss the chance to bring this amazing companion into your life. If you’re interested in meeting Onyx, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm. Located at 6300 San Mateo NE. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with an completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Onyx into your home by clicking on the “adopt me” button! https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The $250 adoption fee covers S/N, microchip, vaccines and heartworm/tic borne illness testing.

Story
Neo is an active young boy who is looking for a partner for all the fun things he wants to do in life! This handsome pup is happy and full of tail wags and smiles, and he was easy-going throughout his assessments. Team Members have called him very friendly and note that he seems to do well with other dogs, too. He is ready to share his joyous spirit with his new family, so come by to meet him and see if he is exactly what your family is missing! A team member notes, "Neo is the most affectionate young guy. He absolutely adores pets and belly rubs. He's friendly to humans he meets on his walks, and he's interested in and polite to fellow doggos he passes outside. He loves spending time with toys and will happily entertain himself with a rope toy or stuffie. He knows "sit" and will sit politely for treats (cheese is his favorite!) and take the treats very gently from your hand." Another team member says, "Neo is a great pup. He's friendly and affectionate and just loves attention, especially pets and snuggles. He walks well on a leash, knows sit and takes treats very, very gently. We hung out together in the park, and he absolutely loves chasing the flirt pole around and playing. He likes when you play with him, but he can also play by himself, just tossing toys or his favorite teddy bear stuffie around. He will always do a cute little sploot near you, which is your cue to sit down by him and proceed with the pets, including his favorite - belly rubs."

Story
The spirited Leo loves to be the center of attention! Leo came to the shelter with his buddy, Utah, and they share a kennel. While Leo is sunny and active, Utah (A1906683) is more shy and gentle. They make a great pair and could be adopted together, although they can also go to different homes. Because Leo already shares his space with another dog, he might be a good pal for your dog. Bring your pet in for a pre-adoption meet & greet. Leo is already neutered -- once he gets his vaccines at the shelter, he can go home with you right away.

Story
Campbell is very happy, loving, and energetic! He seems to like other friendly dogs, greeting them with tail wags and friendly sniffing (we always recommend a pre-adoption meet and greet if you already have a dog).  Campbell takes treats gently, knows his name and `come` and `sit`! He`s not too bad on leash and loves going for long walks!
