Story
Are you looking for a playful, bed warming, people obsessed, new best friend? Met Armada. 60lbs, 1-year-old, female mix breed dog looking for a home with someone to love her as much as she already loves you. She is the perfect companion for your family.
Despite a rocky start is life, Armada is ready to be your perfect companion. She was found as a stray when she was a puppy, taken to the shelter where she lived for several months before being adopted. Sadly just weeks later, Armada’s new owner was diagnosed with a illness that prevented them from giving Armada the life she deserved.
Armada was devastated to return to life at the shelter and would cause herself physical injury trying to get closer to people. She was just so desperate to live in a home again.
Since joining our rescue, Armada has been loving life in her wonderful foster home. Her foster mom says:
”Armada LOVES people— whether it’s the repairman she never met or folks she knows well. It doesn’t matter—she loves them all!
She loves to curl up like a cat in her favorite chair or with you while you watch TV. Her favorite thing is a tennis ball and she runs like a gazelle to chase it. She is learning to drop the ball so it can be thrown again (she figured that out on her own, smart girl). Along with the usual suspects, her favorite foods include bananas, apples, zucchini and especially broccoli stems. She’s quite helpful in the evening during food prep.
Armada is a sweet, affectionate, attentive dog who is chill inside when you need her to be but also loves to play. She is a wonderful companion (not to mention stunning).”
Armada would do well as the only pet in the home. She has been selective with other dogs and the wildlife around her foster home. She is great with children and adults of all ages, however she is young and rambunctious, so small children maybe overwhelmed when she gets the zoomies.
