Story
Fiona was found as a stray with a hip injury. She had her FHO hip surgery and spay on April 11th and has recovered wonderfully she's healed is expected to have a full life without restrictions. She does great in a home, no counter surfing, she is a medium energy dog, enjoys basking in the sun, and loves to be a lap dog at the end of the day. She is a great car ride and would love to go on an adventure with you. She does not chew on furniture or shoes, does not even get into the trash. She is good with some larger dogs after slow and proper introductions, not good with cats. She would be best as an only pet. Crate trained and housebroken. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Thomas got adopted and they decided to turn around to return him before they even made it home. We NEED to share the story because we believe someone out there will appreciate it & love Thomas more for it! On his way home from being adopted, Thomas & his new family were going through the McDonald’s drive thru. (We’ve all smelled the delicious scent of a McD’s drive thru...) When they pulled up to the window, Thomas smelled THAT SMELL and couldn’t contain his excitement. He took a leap — straight out of the car window, through the drive thru window & ended up INSIDE THE MCDONALD’S. Yes, that’s right. This little hamburglar could join in on Olympic jumping team…if burgers were at the finish line. If you appreciate this story as much as we do, you’ll appreciate the joy Thomas brings. In his defense, who hasn’t made questionable decisions in a drive thru?! Thomas is crate- and potty-trained, making him a perfect addition to any home. He knows basic commands and loves to impress by giving his paw, a gesture that captures hearts immediately! Thomas thrives on companionship with humans and dogs. He loves playtime and has a friendly demeanor. His ideal people would be home often or a home with enough people that someone is usually around. Thomas LOVES his toys, which keep him entertained for hours. An outdoor enthusiast, Thomas enjoys running and playing outside, where he can stretch his legs and explore the yard. After some time playing, there’s nothing he loves more than relaxing with his humans. If you’re looking for a faithful friend who is playful, affectionate, and clever, Thomas could be your perfect match. Meet this gem and let him gently paw his way into your life! -55 lbs. -3 years old -American Bulldog Mix (Visual Guess) -Crate & Potty trained -Neutered, Microchipped & UTD on vaccines -Dog and Kid Friendly (Cats unknown) -Loves playing with toys & running in the yard -Loves a McDonald’s Drive Thru…just a seatbelt ;) Apply for Thomas at: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Henry, a sweet, one-year-old playful pup who is looking for his forever family! About me: The key to my heart is…grabbing my leash to go for a walk or car ride or adventure! My self-care routine is…massages by mom. She’s trying to get me into pedicures too but it seems like more of a game to me. I recently discovered that…I’m not supposed to greet new friends by jumping on them. I thought I was giving them a hug so manners are confusing but I’m such a good boy and getting better! My typical Sunday…hanging in my backyard on the lookout for squirrels. We’ll get along if…I just want a family to love me and play with me and take care of me so if you can give me that, I’m yours for life. Fact about me that surprises people…even though I have a lot of energy , I go into my crate really well! That’s where I stay when mom goes to work. Green flags I look for…a sibling! I’d love to have a canine sibling. I have two in my foster home and we have so much fun playing together. My friends ask me for advice about…my constant positive attitude! I’m such a happy dude so I tell them to just hang out with me. I can bring you joy too! The most spontaneous thing I’ve done…invited myself to my neighbor’s backyard pool. I made a new friend but next time I tried, the fence slats were too tight to fit through! *1 year old *60 lbs *Playful energy *Loves toys *Walks well on leash *Loves everyone he meets *House & Crate trained *Dog friendly (cats unknown) *Playful with the cutest zoomies Apply to adopt Henry: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application
