Story
Fiona was found as a stray with a hip injury. She had her FHO hip surgery and spay on April 11th and has recovered wonderfully she's healed is expected to have a full life without restrictions. She does great in a home, no counter surfing, she is a medium energy dog, enjoys basking in the sun, and loves to be a lap dog at the end of the day. She is a great car ride and would love to go on an adventure with you. She does not chew on furniture or shoes, does not even get into the trash. She is good with some larger dogs after slow and proper introductions, not good with cats. She would be best as an only pet. Crate trained and housebroken. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Turtle Freeze A16019654 lb. neutered male, approx 1 yr oldThis handsome smoosh face is my buddy “turt”🐢Goofy boy who loves rope toys, balls, bones…really he makes anything into self entertainment. 🐢He has very typical puppy energy and loves the water, destroying tennis balls, and stuffies! His favorite thing to play with is a golf ball. He will throw it around and roll around with it, and when he's done he will bury it.🐢Turt is crate trained, and has learned that his crate is a good place to be when he learns you are coming back, and he always keeps it clean🐢 Turt loves his walks and is pretty good on his harness. This boy loves the water! You could find yourself with an unexpected shower guest, if you aren’t careful🤣🤣🐢He gets along very well with his foster sister however his play style is kinda rowdy…she doesn’t mind cause hers is too🤪. He could do well with a fur sibling his size with similar energy.🐢 Turt is equal parts independent and snuggly. He loves to sit and watch out a window or lay in the grass.🐢 He gives the softest little kisses and likes to snuggle up and sleep at the food of the bed.🐢 Cookie is his favorite word and will sit and take it very gentlyIf Turtle sounds like your next adventure buddy, he would love to meet you!If you are interested in meeting Turtle Freeze, please email adopt@friendsofdacc.org with subject line “Turtle Freeze A160196”

Story
Meet Valerie: The Lap-Loving, Low-Rider Potato! Introducing Valerie, a 5-year-old, 50lb bundle of love with the cutest 6-inch legs you've ever seen. This delightful "potato" is ready to roll right into your heart and home. Valerie may be low to the ground, but she's high in spirit and full of affection! What Makes Valerie Special? Valerie is the epitome of friendliness, with a heart as big as her personality. She adores both dogs and people, though her manners in asking for affection are as subtle as a sledgehammer—expect this lovebug to plop herself right onto your lap without much invitation! She’s crate trained and mostly potty trained, managing her household duties like the lady she is. Lifestyle and Loves: Though Valerie is low energy, she enjoys her short walks a few times a day—perfect for stretching those adorable legs and sniffing the world around her. She's relatively quiet but isn't shy about telling you when she needs a little extra something, be it a snack or some snuggle time. Toys and playtime with other dogs were once foreign concepts to her, but now she’s an enthusiast, diving into games and toy adventures with giddy abandon. Ideal Home for Valerie: Valerie dreams of a home where she can be the star of the show. A perfect setting would be one where the humans outnumber the dogs, giving her all the attention and belly rubs she desires. She’s a carefree spirit whose ideal day includes lots of love, a few leisurely walks, and endless belly rubs. Why Adopt Valerie? If you’re looking for a carefree companion to light up your life, Valerie is your girl. Her foster calls her a total doll, and it’s easy to see why. With Valerie, you’re not just adopting a pet; you’re bringing home a bundle of joy who will make every day a little brighter. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home and we want our adopters to be prepared for that! Ready to give Valerie the loving audience she deserves? She’s waiting to show you just how much happiness a low-rider potato can bring. APPLY on our WEBSITE: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt Rebeldogsdetroit.com/becomeafoster

Meet Lola: The Hippo-Pittie with a Heart Full of Love! Introducing Lola, an adult female gray pit bull with an adorable resemblance to a gentle hippo. Lola’s gorgeous coat and loving eyes are just the beginning of her many wonderful qualities. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Lola is the perfect match. What Makes Lola Special? Lola is the epitome of friendliness and playfulness. Her love for human companionship shines through every interaction. She thrives on being close to her people, whether you're lounging at home or exploring the neighborhood on a walk. Always curious, she's fascinated by whatever you're doing, making her a delightful living companion. A Perfect Walking Partner: Lola loves her walks and is excellent on a leash, always staying by your side, ready to keep pace with whatever adventure you choose. Her intelligence and eagerness to please make her a joy to spend time with outdoors. Ideal Home for Lola: Lola would thrive in a quiet home with older children and adults who can provide the calm environment she prefers. While she adores her human friends, she can be selective with other dogs. Lola would do best as the only pet or with a very slow introduction to larger dogs if already present in the household. Her ideal family will understand her needs and be committed to continuing her socialization and training. Lola’s Big Heart: Above all, Lola is a huge lover girl. She offers endless affection and loyalty and dreams of finding a forever human to call her own. She has so much love to give and is just waiting for the right person to share her heart with. Why Adopt Lola? Adopting Lola means not just giving a home to a dog in need but gaining a devoted friend who will enrich your life with joy, loyalty, and love. She’s ready to be your steadfast companion, offering comfort and warmth every day. Ready to welcome Lola into your life? She’s ready to fill your home with love and gentle companionship.
