Meet Kyla! This sweet girl is a gentle, loving soul with a heart of gold. Her favorite things includeSnuggling up for cuddles, meeting new people (she loves everyone!) and showing off her smarts (she knows several commands). Kyla is crate trained, housebroken, and has lived with cats and dogs before so may do well with a fur sibling after a proper introduction. She does have skin allergies that require a special diet and medication but she is otherwise a healthy happy girl. Come by the adoption center and meet her today! If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Kyla might just be your perfect match!

Rocco was surrendered when his owner moved. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house-training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with kids 10+, and other dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. His foster says, `Rocco is such a fun dog to be around. He has such a love for life! He loves all people and has a blast playing with other dogs. He is very affectionate and when he looks at you with those big green eyes you can just see all the love he has to give. He loves going for walks and then just snuggle and have a nap He is smart and very eager to learn. He understands routines quickly and is good at letting you know when it is time to do something, but is patient if you need to postpone for a little while, even if it is his favorite snack. Rocco is just smiles all day long and you can`t help but smile back when you look at him and see how happy and loving he is.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on Friday, April 11th. Name: TwixAge: 16 weeksBreed: Mix breedCurrent size: About 30 lbsSize potential: About 100 lbsLeash trained: NoCrate Trained: NoPotty trained: NoKids: FriendlyOther animals: Very docile, friendly with other animals. Hangs back and seems to determine what to do from the people around her, rather than following what the other dogs may or may not be doing.House or apartment: Currently outdoors on landStory/background: Her mama was a stray that showed up a couple of days after Christmas. Sweet dog, we already had three, my dad said he'd keep her. She remains a very friendly, laid back, playful indoor/outdoor dog. - He planned to spay her, but this was delayed...so 14 puppies later.... Twix was a survivor. She is smart, watchful and friendly. Generally, very laid back.Ideal home/family lifestyle: She does great being able to play and roam outdoors. Ideally, she has other animals to play with and explore with semi-freely. We have not had her indoors, but a couple of her siblings have been adopted and have transitioned well. She is a smart dog, and I believe will learn quickly, if trained. (we have trained the dogs to sit for treats...we don't actually use the word, they just know they have to sit before receiving any reward) ##2150140##

I believe they could be trained to be around other pets.  Energy level: VERY energetic but also will lay down and rest.  House or apartment: Definitely a house with a large yard and someone who will exercise and play with them. Story/background: We believe they were dumped on the farm road we live on. They were friendly leading us to believe they had lived with people.  Ideal home/family lifestyle: Farm or home with lots of space. In a perfect world I'd hope they could stay together. They will need some training but seem to pick up on things easily.  ##2324889##

Story
Meet Dalton! Dalton is an energetic pup who was nearly returned to the SPCA after just a few days with his owner, prior to our rescue stepping in. Dalton loves playing ball and tug and would probably do best in a home with an active owner who can help burn off some of his puppy energy! Dalton is up to date on his vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped. Could you be the family he's looking for?December 30, 2023, 12:05 am

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 6-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Grafton. The adoption fee is $350. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
