Story
"Hi! I'm Dallas, a lovable chunky boy with a heart of gold and a head as big as my appetite for food. I also have a hunger for knowledge. I love brain games, work to eat toys and learning new commands, and have already learned cues like sit, down, leave it, go to crate, and calm. I love a cozy setup with lots of blankets and a covered crate with the door left open, snuggles with my person, a good pup cup, and long walks across the autumn leaves. I'm a fun guy, crate trained, and - not to toot my own horn but I'm also housebroken. " Dallas enjoys puzzle toys and enrichment activities, but he's not a fan of ear touches or nail trims - yet loves a good massage. He has a history of living harmoniously with two other dogs, although he may get a bit excited and jump when meeting new furry friends. Due to his exuberant nature, Dallas is best suited for a home without kids or cats. While Dallas can be calm, he also has bursts of energy that requires an active household to keep up with him. He's seeking a loving family who can appreciate his sweet side while embracing his spirited personality. Forget-Me-Nots are small, sometimes missed, flowers that symbolize true love, loyalty, and remembrance. At the Maryland SPCA, we classify a pet as a Forget-Me-Not to highlight an animal that may have some extra considerations for potential adopters to be aware of. Even though this pet may need a little extra TLC in order to fully bloom, we know they are still a strong candidate for adoption and they're sure to bring true love and loyalty into their new family. We hope you'll remember these beautiful creatures when you consider adopting.

Story
Zeke is a prince among dogs. This tall boy just wants to be your family member. His other interests include chewing on bones and sleeping upside down. He will let you know when he wants pets by bonking his paw on you and he'll keep reminding you until he is satisfied. Zeke is usually very patient and calm. For the most part, he spends his days napping. He is alright with being alone, but really enjoys being with his people. He is also a fierce protector of his kingdom! Zeke barks at outside noises, like knocks on the door or the sound of car doors closing. He has enjoyed the children he has met, but can be energetic with his tail and paws, so might be intimidating to smaller children. Zeke loves meeting new people. Once he has met you, you are his friend for life. When excited, he likes to "climb" people and put his paws on their shoulders. He is easily redirected, and then will lean on you to get the rubs he rightfully deserves. Zeke wants to know what his people are eating and would gladly eat any human food he is offered. He would get a gold medal in counter surfing at the Dog Olympics, but again is easily managed. He knows some commands, like sit and paw, and would probably love to do more training. In fact, he would love to do anything his humans want. He is extremely eager to please and adaptable, and he is an absolute delight to have as a foster dog.

Story
Hi! I’m Daphne, a petite pittie or Staffordshire mix weighing 40 pounds and around 4½ years old. Adjectives to describe me: friendly, playful, smart, loyal, affectionate, and spirited. My foster parents found me on July 5th, alone on a busy road—malnourished, thirsty, and overheated—but still VERY friendly. My former owner didn’t want me, but everyone says I’m way too good for him! I’m housebroken (I’ll sit politely at the door when I need to go out) and crate-trained. I’m also very smart and know commands like “sit,” “down,” “outside,” and more. I’m up to date on vaccines and meds, love playing tug, solving puzzles, zoomies, and belly rubs. I’m great with kids and even lived with a toddler before. I mostly ignore other dogs but enjoy playing if they’re interested—especially boys! If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion, I’d love to meet you. Please complete an application at LovePaws to get started: https://lovepawspg.org/browse/adopt-or-foster-application/

Story
Ginger is an active and playful dog who brings energy and love wherever she goes. This sweet girl already knows commands like "Sit" and "Paw," showing off her smarts and eagerness to please. She currently lives with an 8-year-old and a 4-year-old, enjoying their playful company, though her enthusiasm sometimes leads to accidental tumbles as she jumps up to greet them. For this reason, Ginger would do best in a home with older children who can match her spirited personality. She’s a social butterfly who approaches strangers with a loose, wiggly body, eager for affection. While she’s a bit nervous in the shelter environment, her loving and outgoing nature shines through. Ginger is fully housebroken and lets her family know she needs to go outside by whining at the bottom of the steps. She’s great in the car, preferring the front seat with a cracked window but ready to settle anywhere with a little guidance. Her mix of sweetness, smarts, and playfulness makes her a wonderful companion for an active family ready to share their home with this lovable pup.

Story
Hi, my name's Rosemary and I'm so excited to meet you! I'm as sweet as can be with a name like Rosemary and will be your greatest companion ever! I am a Pit Bull Terrier mix and medium-sized (20-59lbs). I am a very solitary dog and would prefer to be the only pet in the household, in addition to being around older children only. I will need an active lifestyle to keep me healthy and happy, like playing fetch with big sticks at a park or laps around the running track! I am the best crate trained girl there ever was! Having a comfortable, safe place makes me feel so much better. I need time and patience to get to know you, my adoption process will require you to get to know me and my background before full adoption. I can't wait to meet you! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
I am deploying in 2025 and would like to Rehome Delta with a loving family. As a single, deployable, service member, time, space & attention are important needs that I don’t have a lot of. He deserves more. Home Alone. Delta doesn’t require a crate. He doesn’t chew furniture or shoes, nor potties indoors. Fun fact. He “whisper barks” if he needs your attention. First he’ll stand in front of you and stare. Whispers and stomps his paws. Then full barks if you aren’t understanding his plight (potty-time). Potty time. He is private. He prefers to poop in shrubbery, the woods…basically out of sight. Never on concrete. A backyard is ideal for him. You’ll likely find his poop against the fence line. Cuddles. It’ll start off rough because he wants to play. Once he realizes you just want to rub him, he will calm down and lay close with his head on you. Kids & other dogs. He barks at large dogs (play) ; sweet & curious about small dogs. Really sweet with kiddos & babies.

We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tess is 3yo, weighs 62lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, is microchipped, and is house-and-crated trained.  Tess does not like taking pills; therefore, her guardian recommends a topical flea/tick treatment. Tess can sit, but doesn't stay and she responds to her name.  Scratch Incidents:  Tess inadvertently and without malice stepped on her guardian's toe, resulting in a scratch and on another occasion scratched her leg to garner attention.  Guardian states she should've adequately clipped her nails.  The scratches didn't break the skin, animal control was not involved, and medical treatment was unwarranted. Tess's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Tess's guardian is moving out of state and cannot take her.  Tess's guardian offers a brief medical history:  "She hurt her leg once about a year ago, she was running and stepped wrong.  The vet said it was a bruised ligament and she healed with just rest." Tess's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Tess lives with children, ages 11 and 15, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "She does not recognize her size and will run up to anyone to say hello".  Tess's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tess hasn't lived with other dogs, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She barks but does not approach, but has only ever been in the house or in a fenced yard with no other animals".  Tess's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tess lives with a cat, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "I have a cat and the cat avoids the dog.  The dog does not seek out the cat".  Tess's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Barks alot Playful Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Separation anxiety Tess's guardian describes her ideal future home: "A home where she can be with her person as much as possible. She has eaten every bed, blanket, crate pad that she's ever had. And yes I mean EATEN, not chewed! The dog has a stomach of steel. She would prob love a fenced yard, we dont have one so we use our neighbor's yard occasionally.  She is definitely an indoor dog. She does not like the rain, at all!" Zeke's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "Living situation and can't be in a multiple animal household." Lunge/Attack incident:  In June 2022 Zeke lunged/attacked another resident canine; the skin was not broken and medical attention was not required.  Zeke's guardian further explains:  "Both dogs were allowed within same fenced yard.  Victim dog ran toward Zeke and Zeke was uncomfortable and lunged/attacked her.  Took to vet but no actual medical attention needed." We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Phoebe is 6yo, weighs 62lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Phoebe's guardian adds: "Phoebe is extremely loyal, protective, and cuddly.  She listens very well and is super smart.  She requires to be the apple of someone’s eye and should be.  She can be friendly to other dogs but not all.   You can see Phoebe in action on instagram @phoebe_and_andre we love her so much and hoping to find her a loving home. She is happiest when she is center of attention, loves snuggles all day, loves to sleep in the bed and be under blankets.  She is a protective and proud companion.  She listens very well.  She knows:  sit; stay; gentle; down; jump; shake; come - she loves to be right by your side, rarely runs away when off leash; other hand (shake with left paw); go home (which is her designated spot on the couch or her dog bed." Phoebe's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:   "We are hoping there is a home better suited for our girl Phoebe.  She absolutely loves attention and playing, but we have a 1 year old boy with another baby on the way, and has a bit too much jealousy energy around little children.  She does great when she is the center of attention, so she would need to be rehomed to a place without children." Phoebe's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Phoebe lives with a 1yo child, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with young children, stating... "Children are the reason for rehoming Phoebe.  We love our girl but she has made it very clear that she feels displaced by the big change in our household.  We have a one year old and another a newborn on the way.  She whines more frequently, shows nervousness when around children, and has no spatial awareness.  She shows jealous tendencies when attention is being given to baby."   Phoebe's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Phoebe doesn't live with dogs, but her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating... "Phoebe loves other dogs and is very playful but it can be hit or miss.  Some dogs find her threating and escalation can occur.  She stays at a "free range" boarding place when we go out of town.  There are 30+ dogs at times.  She has always had a great report card.  We have also taken her to dog parks in the past where tussles have occur but nothing severe.  Phoebe loves small dogs in particular.  She regularly visits with a maltipoo. they play all day and love each other.I will say, she is NOT good with other dogs when she is on a leash.  Per her breed, she is very protective.  In short, because phoebe loves companionship, I believe with the right dog she would be very happy to have a companion but it would have to be a dog that is not threatened by her or escalates easily." Phoebe's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Phoebe lives with a cat, so her guardian recommends her living with cats, stating... "Phoebe loves our cat, Andre!  They have their own instagram because they are such great buds.  Albeit, Andre is a very calm kitty, I think that helps.  Phoebe has lived with a previous cat who was a bit of a grouch and they just avoided each other.  Andre is a snuggle bug and they sleep together and play fight.  Phoebe and Andre playing - https://www.jotform.com/uploads/LizLance/81263856341155/5863336631227940079/PhoebeandAndrePlaying.mp3 Phoebe's guardian describes her as: Very active Couch potato Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Fearful Protective House-Trained Likes men Likes women Phoebe's guardian describes her ideal future home: "I believe Phoebe would thrive in a home with NO small children.  A home where she will be loved as a "girlfriend" dog.  Someone's snuggle pal and number one companion that takes her on plenty of walks.  Someone who loves to sleep with her in the bed.  I think of a youthful person (20s -30s year old) looking for companionship.  Perhaps a family but with older teenage kids that could handle a big strong girl." We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Nash is 10mos old, weighs 68lbs, is intact, is up to date on his vaccines, and is not microchipped.  Nash's guardian states: "The days of going to the bathroom in peace in our household have gone away since adopting him and we love it :).  If you get up to get a cup of water in the same room as him, he will come stand by the fridge.  If you go to get dressed upstairs, he will come and lay on the floor, with his tail wagging, waiting for you to give him some loves.  He truly loves humans and will be your best friend fi you give him a little bit of love.  He truly is a man's best friend. He had two separate incidents where he snapped on our other dog as well as my parents dog and caused some bad injuries to them.  Nash is a snuggler and a companion, he will walk well on a leash, knows sit, paw, down, wait, and no and walks well on a leash.  He knows to walk by your side instead of in front of you.  Occasionally he will try to chase a bird or a squirrel.  Nash will sit on top of you and lay with you for hours if you let him do so.  Nash is currently living at my house still with our 7 year old dog, but cannot be trusted alone with her and has to spend a lot of time in the crate. " Nash's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "He does not get along with our current dog who is 7 years old.  After several trainings and behavioral meetings, the experts suggest that Nash goes to a home with no other dogs in it." Lunge/Bite Incident:  On 5 May 2024, in Huntington Valley, PA, Nash bit his canine sibling at a boarding facility; the incident broke the skin; animal control was not involved; medical intervention was necessary.  Nash's guardian explains: "Nash was boarded with my parents dog for our wedding weekend.  Early in the morning, the boarding place allowed for play time with dogs who were known to be okay with other dogs.  During the free time in a room there were several dogs together.  Nash was playing with my parents dog, Juba, who he spends every weekend with.  Something occurred which is unknown to anyone, and Nash went after Juba.  The only thing that stopped the incident, was a german shepard barking at the two dogs fighting.  Juba was hospitalized for a day and received stitches, a cone, and a drain in his neck.  Nash had superficial wounds to his face and a deep cut on his ear. " Nash's guardian states the following regarding children:  Nash lives with children (ages 3, 4, and 11), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating... "He LOVES any type of attention he gets.  He is still a baby, so we are actively working on "gentle" and "no jumping."  He doesn't know how big he is, so he can knock you down if you aren't paying attention!" Nash's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Nash lives with a dog, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating... "Nash was always fine around dogs, we brought him to dog parks where he would play fine and was actually the submissive type.  But after the two incidents where he hurt dogs, it is a MUST that he go to a home with no other dogs per several professional opinions." Nash's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Nash hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating... "He met a cat one time and was actually scared of it.  He would watch everything the cat did and monitor it.  The cat he met was slightly aggressive and was not super friendly to humans or other animals, so it is unaware currently how Nash would react with a cat that is friendly." Nash's guardian describes him as: Couch potato Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Nash's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Nash would thrive in an environment where someone wants a companion dog.  He will be your true best friend and follow you everywhere you go." When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!
