Story
Hi, my name is Manny, I am 100% American Staffordshire ( my parents did a DNA test on me). I am a 3 year old neutered male. I am stunningly handsome (so I'm told) Other animals make me anxious, so I would need to be the only pet. I love to be with my people. I love to go for rides, play ball/chase, I love to go for walks but sometimes get reactive when I encounter other dogs/cats. I am extremely strong so I need an experienced large dog owner, even though I am under 70#'s my Dad says I'm as strong as a horse. My Dad is not as healthy as he use to be so it's difficult for him to give me the excercise I need/want. I love people big, small, young and old. I'm house trained. I'm very gentle when eating or taking treats. I can sit, give you my paw lay down, I am very treat motivated. I watch the Animal Planet when my parents aren't home. I love stuffed, antlers and ball to play with. My parents want to find someone or a family that can offer me more activity than they can. Wish me luck

Story
Meet Ronnie! A happy fella ready to fill your days with endless joy and love. Ronnie is a big, snuggly, lapdog with a huge smile. All this 2-year-old wants is to soak up as much love as he can, play, and eat treats. Ronnie loves strawberries and watermelon, but not green beans – just a FYI. Sliced apples are his favorite. This handsome fella loves to be the center of attention and sunbathing. Ronnie did not have a good start to life – pretty bad actually.  Yet, his huge heart will not let him hold any grudges. He loves everyone anyway. Ronnie does need some space to get to know new dogs, especially larger dogs like him. He had doggie friends in his past life and some he loved, unfortunately, some were not nice to him. Ronnie has got along well with several female and male dogs including a few rambunctious puppies. Though Ronnie is not dominant we do not recommend he goes to a home with a dominant dog in the home. Coordination is one thing that Ronnie should not put on his resume. Playing fetch – he gets the job done, sometimes, but the goofiness and enthusiasm make for top-notch entertainment. Ronnie is certainly deserving a furever home to show him endless love. Send in your adoption application for Ronnie today at www.underhoundrailroad.org. Ronnie is currently being fostered in North Carolina and may be transported along the East Coast as far North as Maine to his adoptive home. See what Ronnie's friends have to say about him below! "I am Ronnie’s current foster mom. He is AMAZING! He REALLY loves his foster dad. Honestly, anybody that sits on the couch with Ronnie becomes a bestie. If you talk to him, he listens with every ounce of himself. If you want to show him something or teach him something, he is more than eager to watch and let you show him over and over with his full attention. Ronnie is so exceptional. Am I biased? Yes. Because I have been honored to be his mom and thoroughly enjoy this boy’s unconditional happiness and love. Seeing him experience a situation when he knows he is safe, is so rewarding. Ronnie is potty trained, crate trained and knows sit and stay. UTD on everything medical." "I got to host Ronnie in my home for a quick sleepover. He was a good boy and settled in nicely. We enjoyed the day together by running errands around town which Ronnie did great for the car ride, jumping easily in and out at our stops. He walked nicely on the leash with minimal pulling. Ronnie did meet my female pittie and they did well wandering the backyard together. At night Ronnie easily went into the crate and slept soundlessly through the night. It was a little chilly during his stay so Ronnie let me dress him in doggie pajamas! It was so precious and he didn't mind at all. I know this boy will be such a great companion and hope he finds his furever home soon!" November 3, 2024, 4:42 pm

Story
Meet BRUTUS also known as BRUCE! Bruce may appear to be your loving sweet old man, but he is so much more. Not only will Bruce push your every button; he will also steal your entire heart. He is an 8 year old American bulldog mix. Life with Bruce is demanding and at times he is anything but an easy dog. However, if you have lots of love and patience Bruce will become the light of your life. Due to a medication Bruce is on he drinks a lot of water and has to go to the bathroom frequently. Whenever he wants something - he growls. I know, i know, that sounds crazy right? But he means no harm and no foul. It is simply how he communicates. It is much like caring for a crying baby - offer him water, food, a potty break etc and soon you will find the cause for his vocal communication. Bruce loves but rubs and scratches. He will walk over to you and push his bed up against you until you scratch him. He does well for his medicated shampoo baths but he does require a little payment of peanut butter on the wall. This dog is a car dog! He absolutely loves to ride! Bruce is a food hound. He will 110% steal food off of your counters if you do not put it away. All trash in the house needs to be covered and preferably in a pantry or behind a cabinet door as he will steal trash. Bruce gets along with most dogs however most dogs do not tolerate Bruce’s behaviors. Bruce likes to play in a very rough dominating way and unless the dog has a similar play style he usually finds himself in the doghouse with his canine friends. Bruce is 50-50 with cats. He seems to respect and befriend older cats but finds kittens and smaller cats tempting. Bruce will try to dominate your cats and other dogs especially hyperactive young male dogs. Bruce’s one MAJOR DISLIKE is shutting doors in his face. He is not one for physical boundaries and he is not accepting of humans putting body pressure on him. He will stand his ground however - if you grab a treat he will willingly follow you anywhere! Bruce’s ideal home would be a tolerant patient owner with experience in bully breeds. His owner would preferably work from home we’re not be gone longer than four hours during the day as he does require multiple potty breaks. He would prefer an owner who believes their dog should go where they go and an owner who will take him on frequent car rides. Bruce would also prefer to be the light of your life - therefore a house will little humans should cons
