Story
Apollo came to us as a stray, and we believe he was once someone’s companion who was unfortunately dumped. Despite his past, Apollo is a very sweet and loving boy who is ready to find a family to call his own. This high-energy Staffy loves to stay active – whether he’s chewing on a bone or chasing after a ball, he’s always ready for some fun! True to his breed, Apollo thinks he’s a lap dog and will happily climb into your lap whenever he gets the chance. He firmly believes, “If I fit, I sit!” Apollo’s adoption fee covers his vaccines, microchip, and neuter, so he’s all ready to start his new life with you. If you’re looking for a fun, playful companion who’s ready to keep up with your active lifestyle and loves to snuggle up when it’s time to relax, Apollo could be the perfect match for you! Come meet this sweet boy today!

Story
He is a sweet guy. He snuggles, gives kisses, loves going after balls, loves chewy toys. He tears up any of his toys that are soft but won’t touch the kids stuffed animals. He has an established routine and is really good with it. Kids love on him a lot. He’s great with going in his kennel during the day. Loves car rides and laser lights. He does get concerned about people at the door but does settle down once guests are inside. Needs some training with that to learn some manners to allow guests to come in and not jump on them or bark at them. He also would need some training if any dogs or people approach the car as he loves his people and guards the surroundings like any good dog. He does tend to be stubborn at times and doesn’t want people to physically move him but he will move with a firm command. I would recommend a man in the home to establish with Titus who is in charge unless you are an experienced female owner. I’m including kennel in adoption.

Story
- Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time with his human companions: "Buddy enjoyed the car ride a lot! He really wanted to be in the front seat. Thankfully, he was clipped to the seatbelt, or he would have been on my lap in the front! He enjoyed the store as well. He didn't overly care for a pup cup, but loved loved going on walks and checking out all the smells! He did slow down in a hurry, although he did still keep up with us. He would be good for a slightly more active family." - Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) - May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro recommended) - Has been diagnosed with allergies (more info at ARL) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for ageThe ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, and not breed label Primary Color: Fawn Brindle Weight: 55 Age: 7yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
- Loves people, activity, toys and being silly; likes to be at the center of whatever's going on - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time: "He rode calmly in the car with his head out the window and ran happily in our fenced yard while playing with a squeak toy. When he was inside, he just wanted to get pets or lay on the floor by someone." - Knows sit and has been learning a lot of new tricks here at the shelter; he's truly one of the smartest boys!- Will give you his undivided attention if he knows you have treats - they're his favorite thing - Loves going on walks and can pull hard when he gets excited, so he will do best with a harness- Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro required) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for ageThe ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Story
*Meet Reese!**Reese is a sweet 2.5-year-old, 66-pound terrier mix with the most beautiful light tan coat. She’s been through a lot, having spent the last 7 months at the Bexar County Animal Facility where she arrived severely underweight. Fortunately, Reese has made a full recovery and has filled out quite well—she’s a big fan of mealtime!Despite her rough start, Reese is an incredibly happy and calm girl with a heart full of love. She’s good with other dogs and adores all people. Reese now has a second chance at life with our rescue, and we’re eager to help her find the forever home she deserves. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle, and sweet companion, Reese is the perfect fit!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 9, 2025, 10:17 pm
