Story
Hannah was at Lousiana shelter most of her young life.  She is now 4 years old and around 45 lbs. It has taken us this long to get her to the point where she is adoptable. The shelter left her in a kennel 24/7. When she was removed from the kennel for cleaning, they put her on a catchpole with slip loop around her neck and dragged her from place to place. It took us this long to get her to trust us, accept a collar and leash. She is very unsocialized and although she will eventually come to love and trust her adopter, she will run from strangers until she gets to know them . HANNAH was rescued from Louisiana. Hannah is a very loveable and sweet girl. It took us over a year to make her a house dog. She preferred to stay in our kennel area or outside.  She is still a work in progress, however she has grown into a confident homebody that love to sit in her fosters chair.  She would probably do best in a home without another dog. She loves to pester dogs, she never learned how to play with other dogs as a puppy.  With dogs that are older or smaller she can show an alpha side. However she has zero aggression in her. She is well behaved in the house.. She probably won't come to you at first, but treats are the way to her heart.  She is calm and once she trusts you she wants to just be by your side. She is okay in the car, however she is not a dog that would want to visit new places, and she won't walk on a leash unless she has to, such as going to vet etc. She did go to daycare and the staff there said she did great, getting her inside was not the easiest as she had to walk through a large parking lot, through many cars that were parked or moving. She is not a city dog and a quiet life is best for her.  Hannah is available under our Foster to Adopt Program.  A secure fenced in back yard is needed, and someone who is home more and has the time to give her the love and companionship she never had. Children should be over the age of 8 years old. She never goes in a crate, and she does not need one. She can free roam when your not home. She does not chew, and is housebroken. We will only consider applications within 50 miles of Grovertown, Indiana so we can assist the adopter with her transition and bring her to your home for a visit. Her adoption fee is $100. Hannah is spayed/ vaccinated and microchipped.  For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##1908388##

Story
I am an American Staffordshire Terrier- American Pitbull Terrier mix. About 1 year old and 40#.    I was owner surrendered to FCAC after my owners could no longer care for me. I came in with a terrible case of fleas which left my skin very irritated and infected. My fur has all grown back and I feel so much better!   I did get along with the other dogs that I lived with in my previous home and I lived with a cat as well.  I wasn't around any kids in my previous home. I have met several older kids at FCAC and seem to enjoy their company. Fast little kids make me a bit nervous! Kids 10 and over would be best!   I am a loving girl but need time and patience to help me be more confident! I am on the timid side and haven't been exposed to much, other than where I previously lived. I know there is so much more for me to see out there, but I will need guidance and help getting me to see that it's all going to be alright!   Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Her adoption fee is $25 for the month of November!!    If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! If it's a match, you can take home on the same day. Any other dogs in the home must come in for a meet & greet! We do offer a 2 week foster to adopt trial time, to be sure the chosen pet is a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!    Closed Sunday/Thursday    11-4 Saturday/Monday   11-5 Tuesday/Friday    11-6 Wednesday ##2157322##

Story
Meet Honey! Honey is about 8 years old, weighs in at 50# and is a Staffordshire/Pitbull Terrier. She was found as a stray a few months ago and stayed at her finders home, while they looked for the owners, with no luck. Honey is a sweet girl with her humans. She is good with kids, but it is recommended that kids in her new home be old enough to recognize when she doesn't want to be bothered and to give her space. She thinks she is the boss and prefers she be the only pet in your home. Honey is a NO cat kind of girl. She is potty/kennel trained and walks good on a leash.   Honey has some lumps and bumps on her body, which is normal for her age. It is recommended that Honey have a dental cleaning within the year. We can give you the contact info for a local vet that offers affordable dental prices.   Spayed, microchipped, heartworm & Lyme negative, current on vaccines and on monthly prevention. Her adoption fee is $25 for the month of November!!    If you are interested in meeting and adopting, please submit an application here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog   Once submitted our staff will review and then contact you to set up a meet and greet! Story
Well hello there!!! I am Harley and I am 2.5 years old! I love to cuddle, but watch your face because I will give you all the kisses I can! I am a wiggly, goofy girl who loves to play. I like to go outside and explore on walks. I am very food and treat motivated. I am a good girl but can seem kind of shy at first, so treats are a good way to my heart (and my belly). I would love for you to take me outside and play with me and get to know me! I am currently in a foster home! Here is what my foster mama says about me:"I’m a sweet, goofy, laid back girl who’s looking for a home with lots of snuggly blankets where I can feel safe while I learn to be a dog again ❤️My foster family doesn’t know my story but they understand that I need a quiet, predictable environment with lots of love to help me come out of my shell. I’m about two years old so please understand I’m still learning a lot about the world, and I’m in search of a confident pack leader to help me explore everything that I’m so curious about! When I’m feeling comfortable and energetic, my young, silly personality starts to come out, and I love to jump around and play with my ball! I’ve heard that I have cat-like hops too 😏 I can easily transition from play time to chill time and I would love to nap with you. I’m a very food motivated gal who is eager to learn as long as you’re patient with me. I’m currently practicing proper manners with my foster mom and progressing well! Mom says I’m very smart and lets me solve lots of treat puzzles! When I’m happy and wanting attention I like to plop down on your lap and give kisses so be ready! I’m cat friendly but would be best getting acclimated to a confident cat who is willing to meet me and show me the boundaries. I love to play with my toddler foster sibling, however I think I would appreciate older, more predictable children to help me adjust into a proper feeling of security and safety. I’m very dog friendly/curious and can get frustrated when I can’t meet another friend. I would love an older balanced dog to show me the ropes! I do well in the car, and I am crate trained and do very well overnight!"To meet Harley, an appointment needs to be scheduled if you would like to come and meet her. This will occur at the shelter during business hours.
