Story
Greetings everyone! My name is Leanna and I found myself as a stray after a short wanderlust phase. Life on the road was harsh, as I became quite skinny and badly sunburned on my nose. I found myself in a noisy shelter for 4 months--living in a crate in a hallway and eventually on the euthanasia list. Yikes! But, my story of neglect and trauma did not break my spirit! My foster mom tells me I have a heart of gold and will be a loyal partner for a lifetime! I am around 5 years old and 50 pounds. I like to play with non-pushy dogs, but I need a little warm-up to pups without boundaries. I am a shy girl who needs someone to understand that not everyone wants a stranger in their face because, quite frankly, it can be scary. I need time to make choices about how I want to introduce myself. Don’t most humans do this already?! I’d prefer no kids because they usually don’t have the attention span I need for them to read my energy. I’m a girl with big boundaries and I cannot be rushed to accept you. But, once I do I’ll gladly show you my belly or lay at the foot of your bed if you find this agreeable! Did you say sit or shake? Gladly!! Just give me a tasty treat as a reward-I even love dog-friendly fruits and veggies!! My foster mom says that spinach helps me zoom around the backyard and right over the 4 ft fence if she’s not watching…Is that bad?! I consider myself quite the athlete and love routine exercise because it makes me a happier pet baby! I’d love a patient and understanding dog parent to bring out the best version of myself. Don’t we all want this in life?!

Story
Hi! My name is Ellie. As you can see, I’m a bit of a low-rider…a house hippo, if you will. I’m a spayed female, about 5 years old and weigh about 75 lbs. I LOVE my ball, it’s my favorite toy! I also get REALLY excited when my foster Mom brings me my food…I have to maintain this hippo physique, you know! When I’m done with my ball, I’m perfectly happy to cuddle with you on the couch. I get along with some dogs, others not so much, so I’d definitely have to meet any dogs you already have. I don’t think I’ve met any cats, but I don’t think I’d be a fan. I also do well with older kids as commotion just isn’t my thing. I’m pretty set in my ways and really just like my people. I enjoy cuddling and lounging around the house. I'm great in my crate but could also be left out as I would probably just sleep while you’re away. I do also enjoy going for walks! I love being outside as long as you’re out there with me. If you enjoy binge watching Netflix and going for an evening walk, apply to meet me today!

Story
Penny is an incredibly sweet, food-motivated dog who will learn anything in exchange for a couple of treats. She is crate trained, potty trained, and loves to play with humans and love on anyone who will offer a scratch and a kiss. Penny would prefer a home where she can be the apple of her human's eye. She is deaf, but that does not that slow her down, and she knows multiple hand signals. She loves to go for hikes and to meet new people. Do you have room in your home and heart for this amazing dog? Penny is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.

Story
Ace came to Speedway Street Department as a stray. After tracking down his owner via his microchip, we learned that Ace has been rehomed 3 times in his short 1.5 years. His first owner loved him very much but was unable to keep him due to breed restrictions. She re-homed him to a friend, who also ran into the same issue. His third owner could not keep Ace contained in his yard, so opted not to reclaim him from animal control. Ace is a WONDERFUL dog, who wants nothing more than to play with toys. He is extremely athletic, and needs a home with a privacy fence. We are recommending him for a home with older kids only, due his size and energy level (he could easily knock over a little one, and then smother them in kisses). He has done well during introductions with other dogs. The jury is still out on cats. In his interactions, he has been extremely curious. We do not believe he would be aggressive, but we do think he may want to play with them, as he thinks the entire world is his toy box. Ace is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. Considering Ace for adoption? Story
Kore is approximately 4 years old and such a great dog. She isn't bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks and rarely makes much noise (unless you count her snoring). She knows basic commands thru hand signals because she is completely deaf. She knows how to walk well on a leash and has a ton of energy, which makes her an excellent walking/running partner. Kore is very selective on what dogs she prefers, so she does best as an only dog, but she absolutely loves all cats and kittens, even the ones who don't like her. She is great with kids of all ages, but she does forget her strength so she can be a bit much for smaller kids. She loves car trips and is fully crate trained. She is very trainable and absolutely loves to please her handler. She is very ball-motivated and will play fetch til she's utterly exhausted. She can be a bit of a piglet and she loves mud but she's an absolute dream to bathe and she will stand for you calmly and dries almost fully with one towel. She's a great dog with a super happy-go-lucky personality. A 6' fence will be necessary for anyone interested in adopting Kore.

Skip! Hey, hi! Remember me from mid summer....a last, no THE literal last second save him from euth? Well, ladies and gents.....here he is and he's waiting for his forever!! His former... um.. "people"... tied him up to a pole and left him after hours at IACS intake The shelter can be scary and it was hard for him to adjust. He became even more sad. But shelter friends reached out and the ranch rallied hard, transports, fosters and trainers stepped up and well..... would ya just look at him now!! Mr handsome here is 2 years old, 50-60. Super soft, peep that bullhead marking on his back He loves to play! Frisbee, zoomies with or without you, keep away, hide and seek, all the fun stuff. He's an active boy! But he sure loves his snuggles too. Good on leash Good in car Does well with other dogs, but could easily be your only. No cats please...they no fun He adores his people once he warms up....he can be a tad shy at first but hey, who can blame him. Fully vetted, healthy boy, up to date on everything and neutered. Skip needs someone that will go slower with him until he gets settled and comfortable. This boy is a thinker and you can see it in his face when he's working something out in his head. Someone to provide a confidence boost and that will continue to allow him to grow into his best self!! Could it be you? https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FLR-A-534 Share share share.

Story
Meet Dutton Approx 4 years old. Dutton has come so far in his short life. From a long stint as a young dog in a shelter, to a home where he was basically locked in a room. Dutton found a family that loved him dearly and was not afraid to work through his issues from his previous life. With extensive time and work with a trainer Dutton learned what real life was about and how to trust people and adapt to his surroundings. Sadly this didn't last as his young owners added to their family and Dutton did not adapt well to the new baby and change in family dynamic. To protect everyone, including Dutton the hard choice was made to place him back in rescue. Dutton has been back with his trainer for a few months now and continues to be the big meathead of a love bug we all have come to adore. Dutton loves belly rubs from 14 year old Saf, his trainer and his adult boys alike. Dutton's favorite times are his training sessions with Ed where he has proven to be very biddable and in tune with his handler. Dutton has the best off leash heal of any dog on site. Dutton would do best in an home with older children, dog savvy teens may be okay. He gets along well with most dogs. He needs a quiet structured home that will be patient with him while he adapts. Dutton is sweet boy, but don't let that underestimate the management he needs to maintain the hard work he has put in to learning to be a normal dog! If interested in adopting Dutton please apply below https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FLR-A-298

Daphne Daphne is a young (est < 3 yrs old) Staffordshire Terrier mix. Beautiful, graceful, playful, smart & loving. She has lots of energy but will also lay quietly at your feet or in your lap. Daphne is good with dogs her size or larger. She loves playing with toys with tug of war. being one of her favorite games. Knows the commands, sit & time for bed & is learning "lay, leave it, down, quiet & stay. Very treat motivated & takes them gently from your hand. She rides in a car well & really enjoys getting pup cups from DQ & Starbucks. Daphne even tolerates being "dressed up" now & then. Story
Big Mama came to us during a large hoarding case, where we took in 20+ animals. We called her Big Mama, as it was thought she was pregnant, and fed her as such. Turns out, she was NOT pregnant, and had to lose some weight. Over time she has been on a low calorie (supplemented with green beans) diet, exercise, and has lost a lot of weight! She is a stout, friendly, happy girl. She loves everyone, toys, walks, and being next to you. She also loves her crate! Is housetrained when she is able to go out often. Owners would have to stick to her diet and exercise to make her most comfortable.
