Story
Hey there, I'm Zeus, and let me tell you, I'm quite the social butterfly! When I first arrived at the shelter, I greeted everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile-I just love making new friends. I get so close to those friends that when I'm left all alone I get very anxious. I'll do anything I can to get to be with people, and in the past my separation anxiety has led me to breaking doors and jumping fences. I have cleared a 6 foot fence in the past with no issues. This is something that can be managed in a few ways, be it a home where people are there often, special training, and maybe some anxiety meds. We can work though this anxiety together. When it comes to other dogs I really prefer to be with female dogs. In the past, I had a run-in with a male dog who hopped their fence to attack me. Ever since then I've been a bit wary of my fellow male canines. But don't worry, I get along just fine with the ladies! When it comes to kids, though, I'm as gentle as can be. I absolutely adore children, and I've been called a big softy when it comes to them. I might be a goofball and a bit of a couch potato, but I'm also a big old baby who's not too fond of the vacuum-I'll take refuge on the couch until the noise stops! Oh, and did I mention how much I love water? Yep, you heard that right-I'm not afraid to get wet, and I'll happily play with the garden hose for hours on end. And when it comes to commands, I'm pretty smart-I know how to sit, lay down, stay, move, and come here. Although, I must admit, I've also figured out how to get into those tempting trash bags from time to time! In my last home, I was loved very much, and I was incredibly close to my owner. I even have the unique experience of knowing what a power chair is, and let me tell you, I'm not scared of them one bit. But with my tendency to escape, I'll need a secure home with someone who can retrieve me if I manage to get out. So if you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who's ready to overcome some obstacles and shower you with affection, then look no further. I'm Zeus, and I'm ready to be your faithful friend for life!

Story
Brad Pitt!    DOB: 9/2019     Weight: 45-50lbs   Good old Brad Pitt still waits in the shelter kennels for his furever home! Brad was originally in foster where we discovered he is house trained. He doesn’t like being crated though, and will protest by peeing all over it, so leaving him in a room with toys while gone is preferred. He has a fair amount of energy and needs regular walks and playtime throughout the week. No food or toy aggression. He knows how to sit and will take handouts nicely. He walks well on the leash and loves rolling in dirt, leaves, and fresh cut grass whenever he can. He will soak up any attention you’ll offer. Brad does need to be an only dog and he’s not the biggest fan of cats either. Kids 12+ are recommended too. He’s a sweet, loving guy, but gets carried away with loving on you. Sometimes he gets so happy and excited that he doesn’t want you to stop and will grab at your shoes. Just needs to learn when enough is enough.  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to the shelter 3/2021. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview. Click here to submit an adoption application:

Story
Chico!    DOB: 10/2019    Weight: 65lbs   He looks older, but shocker, he’s only about 4 years old! Chico is a chunky, bouncy, loving dude. He’s well mannered and loves attention. Will try to crawl right up on your lap if you let him. He’s house trained and keeps a clean kennel. He loves his people and will be right up your butt if he knows you have food. He doesn’t care for cats or small dogs. He’s been ok with dogs around his size, though he’s not big into playing with others. He enjoys just wandering around and laying in the sun when he’s outside. The highlight of his shelter life is taking car rides to get ice cream!  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Oreo!     DOB: 6/2022    Weight: will be 60lbs ish     Oreo is a young lab mix who has really come out of her shell in the last several months. She’s a people dog for sure! ALWAYS wants to be with someone. Following you, laying beside you, or sitting right on your lap. She loves food and treats so teaching her things is a lot easier. While she‘s ok with cats, she likes to be the boss dog. She has walked and played with other dogs, but she’s not too happy sharing a home with others after awhile. Oreo is house trained but does not care for the crate too much. She is fine to be left out of it when gone though. Oreo is pretty well mannered, knows some basic commands too. She‘s always down for a long car ride or snuggling up for a movie. Oreo has been to doggie daycare and enjoys it as well!  Her adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. Story
Nova is a 5 month old American Pit Bull Terrier mix. (AKA a land seal) Nova was pulled as a small puppy from a local rural shelter by our board president. When found, Nova was covered in fleas and had been a victim of neglect. Since knowing love, Nova has made great strides in house-training, only having a few accidents if her foster mom miss her potty cues. She goes to the door when she needs out. Nova is a smart girl, picking up on basic commands so quickly, and already knows sit! Her foster family are currently working on "shake" & "stay" . Nova has grown-up around a very busy toddler & another adult dog, and loves playing! Like all puppies, she is actively working on learning boundaries. Like all of the young and the restless (not the soap opera-- we're talking puppies!), she has a lot of energy that requires exercise! She does best when she’s busy, but once she tires herself out, she will be the snuggliest girl. Nova is available for PRE-ADOPTION, and will be available once her spay is completed at the end of the month. Please send your inquiries to acerescuegroup@gmail.com

Story
Hi there! My name is Pretty, and I'm a 1-year-old boxer with a lot of love and energy to share. I came in from animal control, and while my past might be a bit of a mystery, I'm all about looking forward to a bright future with a loving family. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was very hyper and loved jumping on people to show my excitement. But guess what? I've already improved so much! I can now easily redirect my energy to my favorite squeaky toys. Fetch is one of my all-time favorite games, and I'll even drop the toy for you so we can keep the game going. I have a fun habit of dropping my toys in spots where I have to fish them out, so I might really enjoy a snuffle mat! I adore treats and will sit very nicely for them. I pick up on training quickly, so I'm sure I can learn lots of new tricks and commands with your help. Even though I have a lot of energy, I also have a very sweet side. I love cuddles and affection just as much as I love playing. If you're looking for a playful, energetic companion who is also sweet and eager to learn, I'm your girl. Let's meet and see if we can make each other's lives even more fun and loving!

Story
Hello there, I’m London, and I’m ready to sweep you off your feet with my bouncy, bubbly personality! At just one year old, I’ve got energy to spare and a zest for life that’s hard to resist. I came here from animal control, and now I’m looking for my perfect match—maybe that’s you? Let’s get one thing straight: I absolutely love to play. Whether it’s running around the yard, chasing a ball, or just zooming around for the sheer joy of it, I’m happiest when I’m moving. I’ve been told I’d thrive in an active home where my energy can be put to good use. Got a jogging route or a big backyard? Perfect! I’ll be your workout buddy and keep you smiling every step of the way. When it comes to other dogs, I’m a bit of a work in progress. I play wonderfully on walks and outings, but living with another dog? That’s where things can get tricky. I get so excited to play that I sometimes don’t pick up on their cues when they’ve had enough. It’s not aggression—it’s enthusiasm! With some patient training and positive reinforcement, I’m sure I can learn better doggy manners. For now, though, I’d do best as your one-and-only furry companion. Cats, on the other hand, are a no-go. I’ve got too much energy and excitement for our feline friends. But when it comes to people? I’m all in! I love attention, affection, and being part of the action. I’m ready to soak up all the love you have to give—and give it right back. If you’re looking for a spirited, loving, and active partner who’s ready to tackle life head-on, I’m your girl. Let’s run, play, and make memories together. I can’t wait to start our adventure!
