Story
Blue is a gorgeous American Staffordshire Terrier that has been in our shelter for 463 days now. He is approx. 2 years old is ready to find his person in this world. He has an adorable pouty cry when he is displeased with something. He is a good boy and enjoys his play time. He loves tug of war with a big rope. Blue needs a confident adopter with experience in his breed if possible. He would do best in a home with no small children but would be ok with older kids who are respectful of dogs. Fill out an application and come met this handsome guy. He is a strong boy and likes to play a little rough so cats are probably not a good fit for this boy. He has done well around dogs we have tested him with but he would need a meet and greet. If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
This gorgeous Rottweiler/Mastiff mix is Sharon. This girl showed up at the shelter with a broken leg and pregnant. She is healed and all her pups are adopted out to loving homes. It is finally her turn to shine and be adopted. She is 1.5 years old and very sweet. Sharon has a very strong prey drive so she is not a good fit with cats. She also shows aggression towards other dogs so this pup will be better in a home with no other pets. She would need to be on a leash outside or have a fenced in yard as she is curious and will run off. She is fantastic with humans and has been in a foster home. She has had house training and is doing great. Her adoption fee is $150.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
My name is Izzy and I am one gorgeous pup. I have a lot of energy and would love to have a fenced in yard to exercise in. I can jump a short fence so a 6 foot fence would be ideal. Long walks on a leash is also a great way for me to exercise if a fence is not an option. I am good with kids and all people but I can be a bit aggressive towards other pets so I would do best in a home with no other animals. I would not be a good fit for someone who wants a social pet with other dogs. I am crate trained and house trained and I do pretty well on a leash with a halter. I am active and goofy girl and deep down I just want to have fun. I am around 1.5 years old and 41 lbs.If you are interested in adopting this pet please visit www.blackfordcountyanimalshelter.com to complete our online adoption application.

Story
Meet Big Daddy Mo, the hunky, smooshy, wiggle-butt who’s stealing hearts left and right at FDHS! This big guy has an aloof charm and likes to take his time getting to know new people. But don’t worry—winning him over is easy with a good walk, a cheeseburger, and a steady stream of compliments (he knows he’s handsome, but he loves to hear it).Mo is a big softie at heart and lived with other dogs in his previous home, so he may enjoy a canine companion with the right introduction. We’re not sure how he feels about cats, and he’ll need slow, steady introductions to anyone new in his life—he likes to take his friendships seriously. If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back buddy with a goofy side, Mo is your man. Apply for Big Daddy Mo today—he’s ready to be your one and only wiggle-butt!**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 60 lbs**
