Story
Hey there, I'm Zeus, and let me tell you, I'm quite the social butterfly! When I first arrived at the shelter, I greeted everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile-I just love making new friends. I get so close to those friends that when I'm left all alone I get very anxious. I'll do anything I can to get to be with people, and in the past my separation anxiety has led me to breaking doors and jumping fences. I have cleared a 6 foot fence in the past with no issues. This is something that can be managed in a few ways, be it a home where people are there often, special training, and maybe some anxiety meds. We can work though this anxiety together. When it comes to other dogs I really prefer to be with female dogs. In the past, I had a run-in with a male dog who hopped their fence to attack me. Ever since then I've been a bit wary of my fellow male canines. But don't worry, I get along just fine with the ladies! When it comes to kids, though, I'm as gentle as can be. I absolutely adore children, and I've been called a big softy when it comes to them. I might be a goofball and a bit of a couch potato, but I'm also a big old baby who's not too fond of the vacuum-I'll take refuge on the couch until the noise stops! Oh, and did I mention how much I love water? Yep, you heard that right-I'm not afraid to get wet, and I'll happily play with the garden hose for hours on end. And when it comes to commands, I'm pretty smart-I know how to sit, lay down, stay, move, and come here. Although, I must admit, I've also figured out how to get into those tempting trash bags from time to time! In my last home, I was loved very much, and I was incredibly close to my owner. I even have the unique experience of knowing what a power chair is, and let me tell you, I'm not scared of them one bit. But with my tendency to escape, I'll need a secure home with someone who can retrieve me if I manage to get out. So if you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who's ready to overcome some obstacles and shower you with affection, then look no further. I'm Zeus, and I'm ready to be your faithful friend for life!

Story
Hey there, I'm Gib, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! Let me give you a little peek into my world. First things first, I've got a bit of a bark to me - I just like to make my presence known! When it comes to toys, I'm all about the stuffed animals with squeakers! They are so attention getting and fun to play with! Now, when we're out for walks, I can't help but get excited when I see those pesky squirrels. I feel sort of the same with cats. I shouldn't live with cats or other small animals, they really just aren't for me. I'll be honest, I do like my personal space, so I'd prefer to be around older kids who understand that. I especially am not comfortable with kids right in my face and can be a little grabby taking treats or toys and may scare them without meaning to as well. Personal bubble aside, I'd love to be wherever my people are. I'm a loyal shotgun rider too! I love feeling the wind in my fur as we cruise along. As for potty training, I'm still getting the hang of it, but I'm a smart pup. I'll paw at the door when nature calls, so you'll know when I need to go out. Now, when it comes to strangers, I may not be the most welcoming at first. But once I get to know you, I'm fiercely loyal and protective. I'll always have your back! When you have friends or family over go very slow with them and me so I can learn they are a part of the pack! So if you're looking for a loyal companion who's full of energy and ready for adventures, then look no further! I'm here, waiting for someone special to give me the love and care I deserve. Are you the one for me?

Story
Hey there, I'm Champion, and I'm on the lookout for my new forever home! Let me tell you a bit about myself. I ended up at the shelter because my last family had to move, but they had nothing but good things to say about me. They called me a constant companion, which I take as a huge compliment! Plus, I'm crate trained and great with kids - the perfect family dog, if you ask me. I'm also a pro when it comes to bath time and nail trims - no fussing or squirming from me! And car rides? Count me in! I love tagging along for adventures and taking in all the sights and smells. When it comes to potty training, I'm a champ (hence the name, right?). I'll let you know when I need to go, and I've got a spotless record of no accidents in my last home. But what really sets me apart is my sweet and social nature. I'm all about those hugs and cuddles - there's nothing better than spending quality time with my favorite humans. So, if you're searching for a loyal companion who's great with kids, loves car rides, and isn't shy about asking for cuddles, then look no further - I'm Champion, and I can't wait to become part of your family! Let's make some unforgettable memories together.

Story
Hey there, I'm Maya, the sweet and social Pit mix on the lookout for my forever family! At 5 years young, I've got plenty of love to give and a heart as big as can be. So, let's address the elephant in the room first - those stomach issues. Yep, I'll admit it, I've had a few accidents in the past when I've gotten into some human food. But hey, who can resist a tasty treat, am I right? On the bright side, I'm house-trained for the most part, and with a little guidance on what's off-limits, I'm sure we can keep those accidents to a minimum. Now, about my tendency to guard the younger children... Yep, guilty as charged. Sometimes I just can't help but want to keep an eye on them, especially if someone approaches too quickly. But hey, it just goes to show how much I care about my little humans! And don't worry, I'm never aggressive about it - just a bit protective. When it comes to other dogs, well, let's just say I'm a social butterfly! I've lived with small dogs before and played well with larger ones here at the shelter. I had a minor scuffle with a previous dog, though that was an intact male who was a little too interested in me. With some positive reinforcement and proper introductions, I know I can be the pawfect playmate for any furry friend. Oh, and did I mention how affectionate I am? Yep, it's true! I'm a cuddle bug through and through, and I just can't resist showering my humans with love and kisses. Plus, I'm a quick learner - I already know commands like sit and down, and I've even been crate trained in the past. Sure, I may be a tad timid in new situations, but who isn't? With a patient and loving family by my side, I know I'll gain confidence in no time. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who's equal parts loving and lovable, look no further than me, Maya! Let's make some unforgettable memories together - I can't wait to meet you!

Story
Brad Pitt!    DOB: 9/2019     Weight: 45-50lbs   Good old Brad Pitt still waits in the shelter kennels for his furever home! Brad was originally in foster where we discovered he is house trained. He doesn’t like being crated though, and will protest by peeing all over it, so leaving him in a room with toys while gone is preferred. He has a fair amount of energy and needs regular walks and playtime throughout the week. No food or toy aggression. He knows how to sit and will take handouts nicely. He walks well on the leash and loves rolling in dirt, leaves, and fresh cut grass whenever he can. He will soak up any attention you’ll offer. Brad does need to be an only dog and he’s not the biggest fan of cats either. Kids 12+ are recommended too. He’s a sweet, loving guy, but gets carried away with loving on you. Sometimes he gets so happy and excited that he doesn’t want you to stop and will grab at your shoes. Just needs to learn when enough is enough.  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If for some reason it does not work out, you’ll be refunded $100 of your fee. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our NEW website. https://www.newliferescues.org . If you have issues, send us a message through our Facebook. Came to the shelter 3/2021. ***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? Story
When Scooter came in as a stray he was very nervous. He showed no signs of aggression, he would just freeze when you entered his kennel. He was still a sweetheart, and would let you easily leash him and take him for a walk, but he was shy. He’s still a gentle, introverted boy, but he’s grown so much in confidence. He’s quickly become a shelter favorite. He’s friendly and loves going on walks. He’s happy to play through the fence with whoever is in the outside kennel beside him, and has recently been sharing an outside kennel with Maya where they happily play together all day. He’s around one and a half years old, neutered, and weighs around 44 pounds. He's heartworm negative, and vaccinated with Distemper, Bordatella, and Rabies. This adorable sweetheart is ready for his forever home.
