Story
We got Coco from the Gwinnett County animal shelter. She is about a year and a half old. She is very friendly and loving but my wife is allergic, and we didn't know since she's almost never been around dogs. She has been spayed, dewormed, and chipped. We have her on a schedule, so she hasn't had any accidents in the house. I really would like her to go to a home instead of back to the shelter. I don't know how she is with other pets as we don't have any. Around people she is very friendly, probably over friendly. I hate that she has to stay in my son's room and can't roam freely around the house and as the weather is changing, I don't want her outside in the cold. We've only had her for about a month now. Please help me find a loving home so she can be happy. Thank you.

Story
Shadow is a rescue. He turned 5 years old in February. I’ve had him for 4 years now and he’s such a smart boy. He has an amazing, goofy personality and is so great at showing it. Unfortunately, I’m always working and have a move coming up soon. I can’t give him the time and attention that he needs and that’s not fair to him. He does also separation anxiety. He needs a home that understands that anxiety in a dog and is willing to work with him. He is so very worth it. He loves to learn and picks up on things so easily. He’s great on a gentle lead leash. I also have a harness that he loves to pull in, if you are up for doing those sorts of exercises with him. He’s great to jog with. He also knows how to run next to a bike. If you have a route, he will learn it. He doesn’t chase squirrels and small animals, he’s just not a fan of cats(I’m not sure of his prior history with them). He’s great with kids and doesn’t get frustrated with how touchy or sometimes rough they can be.

Story
Big Dog is a gentle giant with a big personality. Some of her favorite activities include lying around, using other dogs as pillows, staring at you, and sleeping. She is pretty lazy but enjoys cuddles and thinks she is a lap dog. She is turning 9 years old this year but doesn't show it. She has lived in a home with 6 other dogs, is crate-trained, and is not often food-aggressive (she has been able to be fed outside of a crate with other non-aggressive dogs). She is very playful and enjoys tug-of-war either with you or other dogs. She does well on car rides and a leash. She would most likely do well in a relaxed home with periodic exercise.

Story
Our brown eyed girl is looking for that special family to call her own! Dayzee came to Dirt Road Doggies Rescue with a litter of puppies who have all been adopted. Although Dayzee is 7 years old she is still a puppy at heart. She often gets the "zoomies" and loves to roll in the grass for a good back scratch. She loves her toys and sometimes will let you play fetch. She can be quite the comedian, and does well on a leash. Dayzee is house and crate trained and enjoys going for rides. Dayzee is a medium sized gal at around 40lbs. She has soulful eyes and is a daily reminder to enjoy the simple things in life, especially cuddles. Dayzee recently did a 5K as her first big outing and she did wonderful! There were people running by, cyclists, dogs off leash in yards nearby, and dogs on leash as participants in the race. Dayzee paid no attention to any of them. She just enjoyed the sunshine, stopped to smell the flowers, and wanted pets from the other human particpants. She was so happy to just be outside on a long walk. She finds joy in everything she does.  To meet or adopt Dayzee, complete an adoption application at www.dirtroaddoggiesescue.org ##716013##

Story
I am Ria, a 2 year old teddy bear. I began as a puppy here at MACS & was adopted to a family, that in no fault of my own, they no longer could keep me. I might look intimidating, but I am the biggest baby & goof ball you will ever meet. I love to cuddle & snore. I love long walks & will motivate my human to take walks. I haven’t met a stranger yet, I love humans including the little ones &dogs. I love long car rides & pup cups. Can I be your best friend, your ‘happy you are home’ licks, & protection of your house? Apply on the MACS Friends website!November 6, 2024, 3:01 pm
