12/01/24 23:42Dog Day Out ReportToday I: Met 2 new friends and went on an adventure! My friends took me for a ride in a car – I love to take rides! I can jump in all by myself and I can help watch where we go! Then we took a long walk and I got to learn so many new things with my nose! I saw cars and bikes and people and dogs – they don’t really bother me, but dogs are pretty interesting! The most interesting thing though are squirrels! I am small and senior, but I bet I could catch one! After the walk we went to a store where I got to do lots of sniffing! Oh, and did I mention treats?! Yum! I showed off my “Sit” for those!Three Words to Describe Me are: Sweet – Energetic - SpunkyNotes from My Walker: This was Angie’s first time out on DDO. With seniors we often expect to go slow and take our time. Well, Angie may be senior, but she still has Staffy energy and excitement! She immediately was ready to be leashed and harnessed, she jumped into the car and waited patiently to be seatbelted in. On the drive, she was interested in the sights and smells, and the treats of course! She walked at a great clip for approx. 4 miles and never lagged! Angie is a sniffer and a bit of a marker, but she can easily be coaxed into moving along. When encountering dogs we kept a safe distance, but she displayed no lunging or barking, just interest in the dog smells. After the walk we took her to Pet Food Express for a sniffari and she checked out the entire store. This little senior has lots of life and love ready to give her forever home!

Foster, Adopt OR Foster-to-Adopt me! Sweet pittie Tito has beautiful eyes, a contagious grin… and a purr? Two-year-old Tito is healthy, potty trained, walks well on leash, and loves learning new tricks. Long hikes on the weekend get Tito’s energy out, and he spends his weekdays napping on blankets near his foster mom. Tito is easy-and naturally quiet. He rarely barks, but makes piggy snorts and purrs throughout the day. (We think he’s 1/3 dog, 1/3 cat, and 1/3 pig!) Tito was shy when he arrived at the shelter, but warmed up with treats and attention. He bonds tightly to any gentle person who shows him patience and love. Once you’re his person, sweet Tito enjoys giving kisses, getting couch cuddles, and making you laugh with silly bum-wiggles! Tito loves other dogs, and easily made friends in shelter playgroups. He will be a fantastic brother for another dog. Tito needs a dog-savvy home, ideally with a yard so Tito can roll around on the grass. (As we said - part pig.) We recommend a home without small children; Tito seems to like kids, but can be a bowling ball when he gets the zoomies. He needs a patient family that commits to positive training methods - this gentle boy needs spoiling, not discipline! Welcome Kiwi to the CBR crew! She came to us from the Merced Animal Shelter after being there for over 200 days! Kiwi was a volunteer favorite at the shelter and dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly...while being in foster, we have found that Kiwi needs a longer decompression time and slow intros, but once she is comfortable she is the best girl with other dogs. We have yet to meet a pitty we didn't fall in love with!!! London is no exception! She came into the Stanislaus shelter depressed and would just lay on the ground in her kennel. While in the shelter, the volunteers started taking London our regularly to get some pep in her step. London got used to being taken outside every time a certain volunteer was there, so it became a ritual for them. London seems to be around 6 years old and seems to be very comfortable around dogs , as if she's used to being around a lot dogs. There's no way to know though as this sweet girl was picked up as a stray. She's tested excellent with 10-12 different dogs, males, females, the young, the old, the shy, the excitable. She seems somewhat playful for an older gal but probably more on the gentle dainty side not a rough and rowdy player. No kitties for her though! She has had some prey drive during walks and should not be in a home with cats because of this. London girl has the beefiest beefcake smile that you ever did see! She will without a doubt make your day better just by being in the room! London is currently being fostered in Turlock, CA. Hi, I'm Dottie! I got my name from my cute eye spot. I'm around 6 years old and can't wait to meet my forever family! I enjoy taking walks and am pretty good on a leash. I know basic commands and am very motivated especially when there are treats! I am completely crate trained, and put myself to sleep around 8pm every night.
