Welcome Kiwi to the CBR crew! She came to us from the Merced Animal Shelter after being there for over 200 days! Kiwi was a volunteer favorite at the shelter and dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly...while being in foster, we have found that Kiwi needs a longer decompression time and slow intros, but once she is comfortable she is the best girl with other dogs. While on walks, she has some leash reactivity to dogs and cats, but in the home she is able to coexist peacefully if done properly! We have yet to meet a pitty we didn't fall in love with!!! London is no exception! She came into the Stanislaus shelter depressed and would just lay on the ground in her kennel. While in the shelter, the volunteers started taking London our regularly to get some pep in her step. London got used to being taken outside every time a certain volunteer was there, so it became a ritual for them. London seems to be around 6 years old and seems to be very comfortable around dogs , as if she's used to being around a lot dogs. There's no way to know though as this sweet girl was picked up as a stray. She's tested excellent with 10-12 different dogs, males, females, the young, the old, the shy, the excitable. She seems somewhat playful for an older gal but probably more on the gentle dainty side not a rough and rowdy player. No kitties for her though! She has had some prey drive during walks and should not be in a home with cats because of this. London girl has the beefiest beefcake smile that you ever did see! This is Yara! She’s a great dog. She’s sweet, playful and so cuddly.She loves her food time and will wait patiently until her bowl is set down. She loves her toys and will just take them and play outside on the lawn. She loves meeting new people and isn’t shy. She’s house trained but sometimes now in the cold will not want to go outside (dont blame her there!) She loves looking out the window on car rides, walking on the leash. Sometimes if she gets a hold of the leash she’ll start wanting to play with it. She walks great, would be great as a running partner. She’s been in the same room as foster Moms cat and is curious but not aggressive. She easily leaves the room and forgets there is a cat. She does get very excited and will get right into your face all jumpy so we’re working on that. His favorite things are car rides and cuddling. He is calm and well-behaved enough to have gone shopping at TJ Maxx and Safeway and to dine outdoors at restaurants. He is house-trained and crate-trained. GT's been through a lot in his life but he remains a happy dog with a sweet, lovable temperament. At one time, he lived with other big dogs in a foster home. But when his foster mom got too ill to care for them, they all had to go into a boarding facility. Poor GT now lives in a kennel. This sweet guy deserves so much more. If you're able to provide long-term foster care until he finds his forever home, food, supplies, and medical expenses will be covered. Here's what one volunteer said about him: "We call him Snuggles after spending a few hours with him. He is beyond amazing. We took a slow walk, went for a long car ride (which seemed to be his favorite) and then took him shopping at TJ Max! He loved it! We fell in love with him. He’s easy to be with and pulled at our heartstrings. He’s such a good boy. Looks like he’s been through a lot. He’d be such a great dog for anyone from what we saw. Judge is a one of a kind dog. He is SO smart, so eager to learn, and is a love bug. I rescued him 7 months ago and discovered he was reactive to other dogs. Since then, he has done lots of one-on-one training and a seven board and train camp. This guy can walk past dogs without barking/lunging and can stay focused on his handler in almost any situation. His improvement has been mind blowing from where we started. He needs an owner who can give him a very structured lifestyle. Judge has a high drive and needs mentally/physically exercised daily. He also needs an owner who is willing to continue his training (which I have to say I have discovered a passion for because of this dog, it is so rewarding and fun!) because Judge still struggles with strangers he doesn’t know coming into the house. He has nipped guests before when left free to roam the house while they are over, but that truly was my fault for not doing a slow introduction. That is his last big training hurdle!
