Story
Hi everybody! My name is Snow White, and I'm a 2-year-old, spayed pit bull that currently weighs about 53lbs. I can't wait to say hello—I'm a silly, happy love bug who jumps for joy when meeting new people. I also enjoy 'talking' to my friends: I bark to say hello, and I bark when we're playing fetch, so you know when to throw the ball. I have a lot of energy, but once I've had my playtime and walk, I can't wait to be showered with affection. If you stop scratching me, I'll put my paw on your knee as a way of saying 'more, please!' Did I mention that I'm a very smart girl who excels at nose work? I even find the treats when they hide them somewhere high, and I sit and wait patiently to be rewarded. I'm the whole package: smart and pretty with tons of personality! Please be sure to bring in the entire household, including any resident dogs, to meet me prior to adding me to the family. I'm hoping for a family with adults only or families with older children that are familiar bully breeds like me and have experience teaching dogs how to share and be patient with treats. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Snow White! ID# A946068 I recently went on a field trip with one of my PHS Volunteer friends! Here's how I did: Today, Snow White went on a three-hour off-site trip and visited three different locations. Once the car door was open, she jumped right into the back seat. During the car ride, she intermittently whined softly. The first location was Seal Point Park in San Mateo. We walked along the Bay Trail and up the hill, avoiding the dog run area. Snow White was all business and did not enjoy taking breaks to appreciate the scenery. If we spent too much time in one spot, she would start whining until we moved again. We encountered lots of people, bicycles, and dogs but managed to keep a distance from everyone thanks to the wide paths. Snow White tried to visit all the dogs out of curiosity, displaying no aggressive behavior. She handled joggers and bikes passing and approaching as well. She initially bolted after birds but, by the end of the walk, she was calm even when walking through a flock of pigeons in the parking lot. The second location was Parkside Aquatic Park in San Mateo. Snow White did more exploring and walked into the water, though not deep enough to get her belly wet. She ignored small children playing in the sand and a group of people who were making loud noises. She glanced in their direction when there was an extra loud noise but otherwise ignored the group. The third location was Hillsdale Shopping Center. We walked one lap on the first level and half of the upper level, avoiding the food court. Snow White ascended and descended the stairs without hesitation. She was unfazed by the various people walking around, including those with unusual gaits, using canes, four-wheel walkers, and toddlers. She walked past them without reacting. The only thing that bothered her was a 48-inch tall stuffed giraffe at the entrance of Go! Calendars, Games & Toys store. She froze for a moment but then continued walking by, ignoring the stuffed animal.Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
I’ve had Mia since she was a puppy. She is approximately 13-14yrs old. We found her on Craigslist before it was illegal. She is very loyal & a cuddler. I am in a new apartment & her breed is restricted. She would need to be with someone or a smaller dog, she gets along with smaller dogs but not larger dogs. A larger dog attacked her once & that is why she is scared of them. I’m looking to home her with someone who is home consistently & or elderly because she is a senior herself.

Story
Foster, Adopt OR Foster-to-Adopt me! Sweet pittie Tito has beautiful eyes, a contagious grin… and a purr?   Two-year-old Tito is healthy, potty trained, walks well on leash, and loves learning new tricks. Long hikes on the weekend get Tito’s energy out, and he spends his weekdays napping on blankets near his foster mom. Tito is easy-and naturally quiet. He rarely barks, but makes piggy snorts and purrs throughout the day.  (We think he’s 1/3 dog, 1/3 cat, and 1/3 pig!)   Tito was shy when he arrived at the shelter, but warmed up with treats and attention. He  bonds tightly to any gentle person who shows him patience and love. Once you’re his person, sweet Tito enjoys giving kisses, getting couch cuddles, and making you laugh with silly bum-wiggles!    Tito loves other dogs, and easily made friends in shelter playgroups. He will be a fantastic brother for another dog.    Tito needs a dog-savvy home, ideally with a yard so Tito can roll around on the grass. (As we said - part pig.) We recommend a home without small children; Tito seems to like kids, but can be a bowling ball when he gets the zoomies. He needs a patient family that commits to positive training methods - this gentle boy needs spoiling, not discipline!   If you can give that to Tito, he will repay you with silliness, loyalty, and love.     Please help us learn more about you by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow and we will arrange a meet and greet!  September 22, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Foster to/or Adopt me!   Gorgeous Georgie will be the perfect companion for you and your fur-baby!   Georgie has beautiful hazel eyes; silky, can’t-stop-petting-them ears; a cute sploot; and a freckled snoot!  But this 1.5-year-old boy has more to offer than just his good looks.  He has heart and brains, too!   Georgie is a little shy with new people, likely due to past mistreatment.  He needs a couple of weeks to fully settle into a new home.  But all it takes to win Georgie’s trust and adoration is a little patience and kindness.  Once you’re his person, Georgie will climb into your lap for kisses and cuddles!  And if he thinks you’re sad, Georgie will wiggle on the ground until you laugh and scratch his belly!   Super-smart Georgie is already potty-trained, knows how to sit for a treat, and loves sleeping in his crate.  He learned how to walk nicely on leash just by watching other dogs!  With continued positive training, Georgie will be the most impressive dog in your neighborhood.   Georgie lights up around other friendly dogs, and would love a dog-sibling in his forever home.  He is always ready to romp and play with a new dog-friend, but knows to be gentle with smaller dogs and to take correction from his elders. He met an adult cat and kittens and he was so sweet around them, even a little worried!    Georgie even has his own Facebook page! Check it out: https://m.facebook.com/61562046697941/    We know that he is a very special boy that deserves a loving home.  If that could be with you, please fill out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNow Foster-to-Adopt is an option!September 22, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Welcome Kiwi to the CBR crew! She came to us from the Merced Animal Shelter after being there for over 200 days! Kiwi was a volunteer favorite at the shelter and dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly...while being in foster, we have found that Kiwi needs a longer decompression time and slow intros, but once she is comfortable she is the best girl with other dogs. While on walks, she has some leash reactivity to dogs and cats, but in the home she is able to coexist peacefully if done properly! Kiwi is crate trained, house trained, lover of naps and sunshine ...loves a good snack and her favorite thing? Her people and her pack. Kiwi is currently being fostered in Dixon, CA. If you would like to meet her and see if she is your new bff, please fill out our adoption application on our website www.cabullyrescue.org/adopt

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 25th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $850   Brisket is a 1 year old English Bulldog who is ready to serve up a delicious bounty in her forever home! Brisket was rescued from the shelter in desperate need of cherry eye removal surgery and some other TLC. Even with a stretched-thin budget, we knew we couldn’t leave her to languish in pain, so we scooped her up and brought her to our vet to get her the care she needed. Now that she’s gotten all the healing she needed, she’s ready to trot into your life and make things delicious! Brisket weighs 33 pounds and is a little tank in the body of a Bulldog. We will only consider homes who have experienced flat faced breeds who are prepared for all that comes with Brisket!   Brisket is a loving little hippo who exemplifies the very best of the English Bulldog breed. Those who have loved Bulldogs won’t be able to help themselves from falling head over heels in love with our gal Brisket. She loves keeping her foster mom company during the day, especially if she can do it from the couch as she snorts and snores the hours away. Brisket has no idea that she isn’t exactly couch potato sized, so if you adopt her you are basically also adopting a weighted blanket. A two for one if you ask us! Brisket may love to lounge but our gal has plenty of energy in her as well! When you come home from work or from errands, she hops around like a little bunny in excitement to greet you! Brisket is very food motivated and a fast learner, but like any Bulldog sometimes she will require extra treats to coerce her. Ha! Brisket is also quite the model and we have no doubt that she would be a star in the making once she hits the Instagram scene. Brisket’s gorgeous merle coat and her bright blue eyes make her pop! She can’t wait to charm the world starting with you.  Brisket wakes up at 8 AM and has her breakfast before she heads out for potty time. She comes inside for a treat and then settles in for a nap. She gets a midday walk which she snorts her way through and then she comes home for some playtime and cuddles. In the evening, Brisket has dinner at 5 PM and then settles down for some TV time and snuggling. She goes out once more for potty and then heads to bed.  Brisket gets along well with dogs and humans alike. Interested homes must be prepared to discuss experience with Bulldogs. Brisket will need a home prepared to continue her ear and flap cleaning to make sure she is as healthy as can be. Brisket would be an option for a home with a resident dog but she could also fly solo! She’s flexible and eager to please. Sit down for a deliciously adorable time with Brisket today!      Brisket is only an option for homes who have previous experience with Brachiocephalic breeds. Kids should be over the age of 5.January 29, 2025, 4:26 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $700   Toby is a 6 month old Boxer x Beagle mix who’s ready to rock and roll his way into your heart! Toby was found wandering the streets of San Jose by good samaritans who did their best to find his former home. When that wasn’t possible, they got him seen by a vet and are now hoping to find him a new landing place where he can grow and thrive. Toby currently weighs around 35 pounds and will probably max out around 50 pounds. If you’re ready for adventure with a canine best friend, come and meet Toby!      Toby is a happy and loving puppy ready to make the world his own! He loves to play with his humans, his toys, and his canine foster brother. He adores his humans and loves knowing where everyone is. He is the perfect mix of active and laid back, especially for a large-breed puppy. According to his foster mom, he is 50% playful and 50% loungey. He loves his long walks though and would be an amazing addition to an active home looking to explore the outdoors. We could see Toby thriving in a variety of homes, as long as there is plenty of love in store for him! He loves having a playful companion but he could also thrive solo! He’s just ready to be your happy and faithful companion. He is also super smart as well as food motivated and has picked up tons of tricks in the time he has been with his foster people. You won’t find a better more amazing companion than Mr. Toby!  Toby wakes up at 7 AM and heads outside to stretch and go potty. He gets lots of pets and hugs before he relaxes as his humans start their day. He has breakfast at 8 AM inside of his crate and then spends some time playing with his toys and relaxing. He goes on a walk around 11 AM before returning home for an afternoon of napping and playing with his toys. At 4 PM he practices some of his tricks before he goes on another walk, followed by some playtime at the park. He has dinner at 7 PM and then plays with his toys. He winds down around 9 PM and heads to bed after one last potty break.  Toby currently lives with a large dog and they get along very well. He loves humans of all ages as long as they will play with him! Toby walks well on the leash and loves his strolls. He is house trained. If you’re ready to find your new pal, come on down and meet Toby!      Toby is an option for homes with prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 5.January 25, 2025, 12:25 am
