Story
Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier X DOB: 6/2013 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): brown/white, streak of black on tail Description: Hi, I'm Jackson, a sweet American Staffordshire Terrier X who was rescued from an LA shelter by someone out-of-state who wanted to give me a chance at finding my forever home. I was evaluated by a trainer who said I was stressed but calm. Who wouldn't be stressed not knowing when your last day might be. I accepted being touched all over my body including my paws, tail and mouth. I know sit, shake and take treats gently. I did not exhibit any food aggression when tested with chicken. The trainer took me for a 30 minute walk and I pulled at first but listened to instructions about not pulling. I walked well after that. I did not react to strangers or other dogs we encountered on our walk. I showed more interest in people. This has since changed while I was in a foster home. I need to be the only dog in the home. I jumped in the trainer's car when given water after our walk. I didn't want to get out, I thought I was going home. I've been lucky to be able to get time away from the kennel. I was quick to pick up potty training and I was a true gentleman when left alone in the home. I'm grateful and happy to be in a safe place where I'll be taken care of and given lots of love and attention. I hope the next car I jump into will take me to my forever home. Someone who hasn't even met me in person was willing to give me a chance, won't you give me a chance too? Stop by and meet me. I'll be waiting. *Thank you to Jill for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life. Story
Available to foster or adopt!Breed: American Stafforshire Terrier / Bulldog X DOB: est 2/2016 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: short Size: medium Color(s): grey / white / tan Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application. Hi, I'm Chula, a beautiful mostly American Staffordshire Terrier with some Bulldog, a bit of American Bulldog, and with a sprinkle of Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Neapolitan Mastiff (at least that is what my DNA report says) who is in need of a loving home. I was rescued from Animal Services where I was surrendered due to my owner moving and I couldn't go too. Animal Services had this to say about me. Chula is a petite lowrider looking for her new best friend! her owner was devastated to have to surrender her after moving and said this about her: 'Chula is protective over me. She's in tune with me when I'm sad and she's always there to comfort me. She's always playful and energetic. She's so silly and rolls around when playing.' Chula does have some fears and insecurities, especially meeting new people and having her shoulder and legs touched. In one of her homes, she was attacked by the resident dog that resulted in significant injury to her shoulder. Although her shoulder has healed well, this may be a contributing factor to her sensitivities and behavior with other dogs. It will take time, maybe even weeks, for her to become completely comfortable with a new person, especially men. She needs someone who can be patient and understand that she won't be ready to jump in your lap the first time you meet her. A quiet home with no little kids and few visitors will be the best place for her to feel safe and happy. She isn't the dog that wants to be the center of attention at a party - but she'd love to be your sidekick and give you all her love. She is working on feeling more comfortable around other dogs and has learned to tolerate wearing a muzzle to keep everyone safe if she needs to go to a vet or meet someone new and scary. If you have experience with insecure dogs, a quiet home and are looking for a partner to grow with, learn with, play with, train and love, please fill out an online application to meet her. *Thank you to the STARR Group for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life.November 7, 2024, 11:05 am

If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application.Hi, I'm Waffles, a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier X, rescued from Animal Services in my hour of need.I was adopted from Animal Services, but returned because I was protective of my people when on leash outside the home. I'd do best with an experienced patient dog owner willing to work with me on this. I need a home with no other dogs as I can be dog reactive. It's unknown how I would do with cats or children.I'm a curious girl who loves treats. I walk well on leash and I respond when my name is called. If you're not ready to adopt, I also wouldn't mind being in a foster home. Available to foster or adopt!Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier / American Pit Bull X DOB: 4/2023 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): white/black Description:***Needs a Foster Home***This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Ketchup, a mostly American Staffordshire Terrier / American Pit Bull with Siberian Husky / Chow / Australian Shepherd / American Bulldog / German Shepherd / Neapolitan Mastiff and Bulldog according to the DNA test, who was rescued from a shelter. I may be a bit shy at first, those who have spent time with me describe me as a sweet and affectionate pooch.I was in a home for a short while and it was noted that I enjoy lounging on the couch or my dog bed. I will also sit politely by the door when I need to go outside. I know my name and seem very good at sitting. I did not beg while they ate, instead I went to the couch or my bed to wait until they were done. I would do best in a forever home with carpeted floors and a calm, gentle environment where I can feel safe and comfortable. They thought I seemed scared of the dark and I didn't warm up entirely to the male in the home. I may need some time to adjust to my new surroundings, but once I do, I will reward you with my love and companionship. I walk well with other dogs at the kennel and I was not dog reactive when out on walks while in the home, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. It is unknown if I get along with cats or how I would do with children.Give me a chance, you'll see that I'm a great dog who would love to find a forever home where I can live out the rest of my days in comfort and happiness.
