Story
This little beauty is named Nova. She is about 6-8 months old and only 30 lbs. She was rescued from the streets of Compton when three men were chasing her and trying to hurt her. She is not microchipped and all attempts to find if she had a family at one point have been exhausted. We are looking to find her forever home. She is wonderful with dogs and children and has a kind demeanor. She is very playful and loves a good belly rub.

Story
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a two-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix ( maybe mixed with Husky due to his beautiful blue and green eyes). He is the happiest boy with an incredible disposition. Buddy loves going on long walks and just loves being with his “people”. He has spent several months living with a trainer and several other dogs and has done amazing. He loves the water and other dogs. He is now in a foster with two other dogs and doing well. Once he’s in a home with a yard, he can decompress and play and let out his energy. Buddy has had extensive training and a trainer will come to the adopter's house to work with the family and show what he can do. He would do best with an active family. He was rescued from the Riverside shelter where he shared his kennel with another dog. He’s a love bug that is so deserving of his loving forever home. Buddy is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, had a blood panel and a full clean bill of health. If you think you are the right family for Buddy, please submit a completed adoption application found under the forms tab so that we can schedule a meet and greet. He can also be found on all our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez. If adoption isn't an option, please consider fostering one of our pups. We are a volunteer-run non-profit dog rescue and always welcome new short and/or long-term doggie foster families. We greatly appreciate the help and time of our fosters. You provide all the love, comfort, and safety of a home and we supply you with everything else you may need, dog food, dog bed, toys, medical attention (if needed), etc. If you are interested please visit www.doggiebonez.com to see all of our available dogs who need a foster family while waiting for their fur-ever home and complete the foster application.November 2, 2024, 7:31 pm

Story
Affectionate and LovingWedge is an amazing 10-month-old with so much potential to be a great dog for any family! He does well with older children and other friendly dogs. He enjoys rough-housing with his foster sister and plays very nicely with the family's older dog.  Wedge is a snuggler and loves couch privileges while still doing very well in his crate.  His current foster family fell in love with him super fast and are absolutely heartbroken to have to let him go. He gets uncomfortable around strangers and is working with a trainer to help him gain confidence and work through whatever happened to him before he came to us. The trainer is positive that Wedge's training be successful. He just needs a home with stability and patience.  His current foster has a busy schedule and young children which aren't conducive to his need for consistency. He just needs more time to settle in, as all rescue dogs do, to feel secure, and gain confidence, and he will be an amazing addition to any Loving family! The foster family does think Wedge would do best with older kids. He loves being played with and loved on. Another dog in a secure backyard to make Wedge feel safe would also be ideal. He's an active puppy that would benefit greatly from walks.  He is best in a calmer home as he does have some fear issues so a family that has people coming and going may be too overstimulating for Wedge, Wedge needs people to be introduced to him in a way that makes him feel safe. We do encourage Wedge's adopter to provide him with structure, stability, consistency, tons of love, and continued training to set him up for success. His trainer will help Wedge's new family with 2 training sessions at no charge.   If you are interested in meeting Wedge, please submit a completed adoption application found under the forms tab. This way, we can schedule a meet and greet. He can also be found on our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez.   Adoption fees for puppies under 1 year are $500, for young to adult dogs $400, and for our senior dogs $300. I'm Flash Gordon, a 4-year-old, short, stocky male American Staffordshire Terrier mix who weighs 91 pounds. Housetrained, I am very happy, playful, like to be active, am on the shy side, love to hang on the sofa with you, and can be silly and goofy. I live with a family with another dog and TLRD did this thing they called a 'cat test.' I passed, whatever that means. They are super awesome - they have taken me on lots of trips, like to Morro Bay or up to the mountains. I really like those trips and I love to have a job to do. I also like to be protective and need to learn that it's not my job - it's the human leaders' job. Are you up for that? I hope so!November 2, 2024, 6:51 pm

Story
Hello there, I'm Bridget Bones, your potential best friend! I'm an adult, but don't let that fool you, Snuggle-bunny inside, wiggly-giggly energizer puppy on walks. I love going for walks and playing with you!. I love a good game of fetch and I'm smart enough to bring the ball right back to you. I'm dog reactive, but I am good on the leash, and I know all my basic commands. I just need an active, experienced home to keep me on the right track. After a good play session, there's nothing I love more than a good cuddle. I'm 45 lbs. of pure loyalty and love. I am fully potty trained, use the doggie door, and am crate trained. I also give the best kisses, and love my humans more than you can imagine. I would do best as the only pup in the house, so I can get all of the attention and know that I am safe, but I do get along with dogs with calm energy. Will you take me home, take me on walks, set boundaries and love me forever? If you and I both put in the work, I will be the dog of your dreams. Oh, and no kitties, please. My former foster mom says: 'Bridget Bones is one of our smartest dogs, and before I knew her, I could have sworn that she was a puppy! She's one of those lucky dogs who doesn't age a day and will forever be a puppy! She places heavy emphasis on respect, but once you've earned it with her, she will be an angel!'Fill out an application to foster or adopt me today!I promise to make your life brighter with my cheerful presence. Story
Meet Teddy, a big ol' teddy bear, a 7-year-old, 75-pound, handsome, good boy! He love humans and he loves walks too after getting his beauty rest of course. Teddy enjoys playtime, especially with his beachball. He has done well with other big pups but is currently the only dog in the home. He has medium energy, and his foster says he loves sleeping in, going for a short morning walk and a longer afternoon adventure. Teddy is a gentle giant, and just loves to look around and see the world go past. He's a large dog but you wouldn't know it as he lives in an apartment. He's a lover boy, and rarely misses the opportunity for hugs, kisses, pets, or attention. When he really trusts someone, he will sit with his back to you, and push his butt into you. It sounds like he's a pretty great guy, right? Teddy would love to be best friends forever! He is looking for a new foster home or a furever family. Will you be Teddy's hero? Story
Spotlight! About me, ET. I'm obviously the goodest boy but let me tell you more about me. I am about 3 years old, 46 lbs., and full of energy. I absolutely love walks, treats, snuggling, and rope toys. I am the ultimate champion of tug of war! When I was first rescued, I had no leash training and all I wanted to do was pull and bite the leash. I also used to be very selective with other dogs. After a couple months of training here at TLRD, I've made a total transformation and everyone here is so proud of me! Now, I know how to have good leash manners, I know how to heel and how to look to my pack leader for direction. I'm a good listener and will sit and wait until I'm told to go into my kennel to eat my food. I love being a good boy! I also go on pack walks with other dogs after a proper introduction and as long as you're a confident leader, I do fantastic.I love belly rubs and will ask anyone I see to give them to me because I am the goodest boy who deserves constant attention. Are you available for these belly rubs? If so, please fill out an adoption application today!November 2, 2024, 6:51 pm

Story
Don't tell the other pups, but 6-yr-old Bonnie is a volunteer and staff favorite! She adores children, is house trained, and is ready to cuddle her entire 63 pound body with you on the couch every night. Bonnie would do best in a home without other dogs. She's good with other dogs outside after a proper slow intro, however she told us that she just prefers to get 100% of the attention at home and we totally get it! When she was first rescued, she didn't really understand toys or fetch. However, after some time in a wonderful foster home, she slowly started to love playing with her toys in her bed and playing some fetch in the hallway with her little pink tennis ball...only when she feels like it though. That's one thing we love about her – she'll let you know when she wants to play. If she's laying in bed and you want her to play fetch, she's like 'no way I'm chillin!' It is adorbs! Bonnie is also the perfect mix of rest and play. She'll go on a nice, long walk or hike with you no problem and then she'll sleep next to you all day until you're ready to go out again. Seriously, don't miss out on this well-behaved, loving, amazing girl! She's a gem.'My sweet Bon Bon! Bonnie is a dream, and I miss her everyday that she's not at the Red Dog House! I had to fight the other volunteers to spend extra time loving her! She loves to be pet, to cuddle, and to get her belly rubbed. Bonnie is one of the most perfect dogs that I've ever met! She's be great as a family's only dog, but she'd bloom anywhere!' -Kathie, volunteer at the Red Dog HouseNovember 2, 2024, 6:51 pm

Story
Affectionate and LovingTux is a gorgeous 2 year old boxer mix male puppy, that is ready for his loving, active & happy forever family.  Tux is stunning in person and he rides beautifully in the car and is dog friendly with other friendly dogs. He loves having another playful puppy in the home to play with and he bonded with his former foster sister, who was a senior, and didn’t want to play much with Tux, but he still loved her and wanted to be with her. Tux is an absolute love and is a sensitive soul who is so deserving of his happily ever after. He loves going on walks and he is crate trained and likes seeing his loved ones, so his previous foster crates him in the master bedroom.  He’s a snuggle bug, affectionate, loving and is incredibly smart and eager to learn.  He’s great with kids that don’t mind his playful behavior and he would love a home with a secure yard to run and play in.  He also loves water and is a complete sweetheart.  Tux is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, received his wellness exam and was dewormed.  He will be an amazing addition to any loving family wanting to add a gorgeous boxer mix to their family.   November 2, 2024, 7:31 pm
