Story
I'm Flash Gordon, a 4-year-old, short, stocky male American Staffordshire Terrier mix who weighs 91 pounds. Housetrained, I am very happy, playful, like to be active, am on the shy side, love to hang on the sofa with you, and can be silly and goofy. I live with a family with another dog and TLRD did this thing they called a 'cat test.' I passed, whatever that means. They are super awesome - they have taken me on lots of trips, like to Morro Bay or up to the mountains. I really like those trips and I love to have a job to do. I also like to be protective and need to learn that it's not my job - it's the human leaders' job. Are you up for that? I hope so!November 4, 2024, 8:32 pm

Story
Hello there, I'm Bridget Bones, your potential best friend! I'm an adult, but don't let that fool you, Snuggle-bunny inside, wiggly-giggly energizer puppy on walks. I love going for walks and playing with you!. I love a good game of fetch and I'm smart enough to bring the ball right back to you. I'm dog reactive, but I am good on the leash, and I know all my basic commands. I just need an active, experienced home to keep me on the right track. After a good play session, there's nothing I love more than a good cuddle. I'm 45 lbs. of pure loyalty and love. I am fully potty trained, use the doggie door, and am crate trained. I also give the best kisses, and love my humans more than you can imagine. I would do best as the only pup in the house, so I can get all of the attention and know that I am safe, but I do get along with dogs with calm energy. Will you take me home, take me on walks, set boundaries and love me forever? If you and I both put in the work, I will be the dog of your dreams. Oh, and no kitties, please. My former foster mom says: 'Bridget Bones is one of our smartest dogs, and before I knew her, I could have sworn that she was a puppy! She's one of those lucky dogs who doesn't age a day and will forever be a puppy! She places heavy emphasis on respect, but once you've earned it with her, she will be an angel!'Fill out an application to foster or adopt me today!I promise to make your life brighter with my cheerful presence. Adopt me and let's make wonderful memories together!November 4, 2024, 8:32 pm

Story
Meet Teddy, a big ol' teddy bear, a 7-year-old, 75-pound, handsome, good boy! He love humans and he loves walks too after getting his beauty rest of course. Teddy enjoys playtime, especially with his beachball. He has done well with other big pups but is currently the only dog in the home. He has medium energy, and his foster says he loves sleeping in, going for a short morning walk and a longer afternoon adventure. Teddy is a gentle giant, and just loves to look around and see the world go past. He's a large dog but you wouldn't know it as he lives in an apartment. He's a lover boy, and rarely misses the opportunity for hugs, kisses, pets, or attention. When he really trusts someone, he will sit with his back to you, and push his butt into you. It sounds like he's a pretty great guy, right? Teddy would love to be best friends forever! He is looking for a new foster home or a furever family. Will you be Teddy's hero? Story
Don't tell the other pups, but 6-yr-old Bonnie is a volunteer and staff favorite! She adores children, is house trained, and is ready to cuddle her entire 63 pound body with you on the couch every night. Bonnie would do best in a home without other dogs. She's good with other dogs outside after a proper slow intro, however she told us that she just prefers to get 100% of the attention at home and we totally get it! When she was first rescued, she didn't really understand toys or fetch. However, after some time in a wonderful foster home, she slowly started to love playing with her toys in her bed and playing some fetch in the hallway with her little pink tennis ball...only when she feels like it though. That's one thing we love about her – she'll let you know when she wants to play. If she's laying in bed and you want her to play fetch, she's like 'no way I'm chillin!' It is adorbs! Bonnie is also the perfect mix of rest and play. She'll go on a nice, long walk or hike with you no problem and then she'll sleep next to you all day until you're ready to go out again. Seriously, don't miss out on this well-behaved, loving, amazing girl! She's a gem.'My sweet Bon Bon! Bonnie is a dream, and I miss her everyday that she's not at the Red Dog House! I had to fight the other volunteers to spend extra time loving her! She loves to be pet, to cuddle, and to get her belly rubbed. Bonnie is one of the most perfect dogs that I've ever met! She's be great as a family's only dog, but she'd bloom anywhere!' -Kathie, volunteer at the Red Dog HouseNovember 4, 2024, 8:32 pm

King was surrendered to us instead of going to the shelter and he is a joy to foster. He is 4 1/2 years old and deaf. He is fully trained and very smart. He is a precious, curious, affectionate, goofy goober that is top notch best friend material. He does have some separation and crate anxiety and he takes Trazadone every day to help him manage. King is a little extra work than your average dog, but I promise you the payoff is worth it. He will bring you so much joy and love. As long as he gets some exercise, he will spend the rest of the time cuddling you on the couch and chewing his bene bone.

Story
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a two-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix ( maybe mixed with Husky due to his beautiful blue and green eyes). He is the happiest boy with an incredible disposition. Buddy loves going on long walks and just loves being with his “people”. He has spent several months living with a trainer and several other dogs and has done amazing. He loves the water and other dogs. He is now in a foster with two other dogs and doing well. Once he’s in a home with a yard, he can decompress and play and let out his energy. Buddy has had extensive training and a trainer will come to the adopter's house to work with the family and show what he can do. He would do best with an active family. He was rescued from the Riverside shelter where he shared his kennel with another dog. He’s a love bug that is so deserving of his loving forever home. Buddy is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, had a blood panel and a full clean bill of health. If you think you are the right family for Buddy, please submit a completed adoption application found under the forms tab so that we can schedule a meet and greet. He can also be found on all our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez. If adoption isn't an option, please consider fostering one of our pups. We are a volunteer-run non-profit dog rescue and always welcome new short and/or long-term doggie foster families. We greatly appreciate the help and time of our fosters. You provide all the love, comfort, and safety of a home and we supply you with everything else you may need, dog food, dog bed, toys, medical attention (if needed), etc. If you are interested please visit www.doggiebonez.com to see all of our available dogs who need a foster family while waiting for their fur-ever home and complete the foster application.November 2, 2024, 7:31 pm

Story
Affectionate and LovingWedge is an amazing 10-month-old with so much potential to be a great dog for any family! He does well with older children and other friendly dogs. He enjoys rough-housing with his foster sister and plays very nicely with the family's older dog.  Wedge is a snuggler and loves couch privileges while still doing very well in his crate.  His current foster family fell in love with him super fast and are absolutely heartbroken to have to let him go. He gets uncomfortable around strangers and is working with a trainer to help him gain confidence and work through whatever happened to him before he came to us. The trainer is positive that Wedge's training be successful. He just needs a home with stability and patience.  His current foster has a busy schedule and young children which aren't conducive to his need for consistency. He just needs more time to settle in, as all rescue dogs do, to feel secure, and gain confidence, and he will be an amazing addition to any Loving family! The foster family does think Wedge would do best with older kids. He loves being played with and loved on. Another dog in a secure backyard to make Wedge feel safe would also be ideal. He's an active puppy that would benefit greatly from walks.  He is best in a calmer home as he does have some fear issues so a family that has people coming and going may be too overstimulating for Wedge, Wedge needs people to be introduced to him in a way that makes him feel safe. We do encourage Wedge's adopter to provide him with structure, stability, consistency, tons of love, and continued training to set him up for success. His trainer will help Wedge's new family with 2 training sessions at no charge.   If you are interested in meeting Wedge, please submit a completed adoption application found under the forms tab. This way, we can schedule a meet and greet. He can also be found on our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez.   Adoption fees for puppies under 1 year are $500, for young to adult dogs $400, and for our senior dogs $300. Koko is a gorgeous 5 1/2 year old  female American Staffordshire terrier mix that weighs 63 pounds of love & sweetness. Koko is amazingly behaved in the home and can be left alone in the home for many hours without needing to be crated. Apollo is a stunningly handsome 3 year old male American Staffordshire terrier mix that is so deserving of his loving forever family! Apollo is friendly with other friendly dogs, but is more of a chill bug that will hang around other dogs, but isn’t crazy playful.  He would be great with a family that has another dog that doesn’t like dogs in their face, as Apollo respects other dogs spaces. He’s an absolute gem of a dog that loves going on walks and walks beautifully on a leash.  Apollo has received extensive training by a professional board and train facility, and is a better version of himself and is well behaved in the home and is crate trained. Whoever has the pleasure of adopting this gorgeous hunk of love will have training sessions that have already been paid for, so that our trainer can show you everything he worked on with Apollo, so you can continue what was taught to set Apollo up for success.  Apollo loves everyone he meets and has been great with children, and even walked with the trainers 11 year old daughter.  Apollo is a special boy that deserves his loving and committed family.  He’s packed and ready for his loving adventures with his forever family!!! Starting with his underbite, adding his goofy morning happy dance, and finally seeing how he sleeps with his tongue out, this 3.5-year-old, 73 pound hunky guy will keep you laughing all day. He loves to hang with and 'help' you as you go about your day. Gleason is looking for an experienced human who can maintain proper structure and boundaries in the home. He's an incredibly good boy when he respects his humans, but if he senses a lack of control, he will push his boundaries. He does well with other dogs as long as he gets a slow, proper introduction. Overall, Gleason is calm and easy-going, totally content to snooze when you are busy, will happily jump in the car, and walks well on leash. Are you giddy for Gleason? Story
Hi! My name is Mattie, and I'm an adorable 3.5-year-old English Bulldog who weighs about 71 pounds. I have a temporary foster, so I'm looking for a longer-term foster or even better, a forever home! My friends at TLRD say I'm super sweet and ridiculously stubborn. Hey, I've got personality, baby! I'd never been walked on a leash before coming here, so I'm learning how to do that with the volunteer dog walkers here. I'll need to keep up that practice and have at least 2 solid walks a day so I can be the best possible version of me! I'll do best in a home with older kids (or no kids). Oh, and here's a silly fact about me...I hate hate hate the crate (I can rhyme too!). I can’t wait to meet you! Please submit an application today!November 4, 2024, 8:32 pm
